Life 3 - Chapter 28

What the...WHY IS THERE BLOOD ALL OVER ME?!!?

Ian and Crainer were dead.

Bob was sticking out of them.

I was covered in blood.

These two have tried to kill me, but I forgave both of them!

Oh my God, I'm screwed.

I'm so screwed.

This is the freaking end of me.

Everyone is going to come in and see freaking semi-dried blood on me and Bob sticking out of Crainer!

HOW DID THE BLOOD EVEN GET ON ME?!

WHO ACTUALLY KILLED THEM!?

I heard a gasp and turned around.

Barney was staring wide-eyed at me.

The body announcement didn't go off.

The announcement was supposed to go off if 2 people saw the body or bodies.

Except the murderer didn't count as a person seeing the body.

I didn't freaking kill them, though!

Sky walked around Barney.

"Barney?  What---HOLY MOTHER OF BUDDER!"  He yelled.

I looked down at my bloody suit and then back up.

"HEHEHEHEHE!!!! Bodies has been discovered, boyo! Y'all have 15 minutes before the trial!"

Mitch and Quentin walked up.

Barney and Sky moved out of the way.

I saw Sub in the hallway, and I knew he was terrified.

I lifted my paws towards them like I was trying to push them away and backed up.  "Ok, ok, this looks really bad, but I DIDN'T DO THIS!  I'm being framed AGAIN!"

Quentin stared at me with hatred and disbelief.  "MonoKirby, we don't need 15 minutes.  We can start now."

MonoKirby's voice rang through the air.  "Ok then!  Proceed to the Grand Hall for the Castle Trial, boyo!"

Barney, Sky, and Sub left towards the Grand Hall, but Quentin and Mitch stayed back.

"Come on, Jerome."  Mitch said quietly.

I felt terrified.

I felt cornered.

I felt threatened.

I could feel my bacca instincts flaring up.

I felt myself trembling as I shook my head rapidly.  "N-NO!  Y-YOU CAN'T D-DO THIS!"

Quentin looked at Mitch and nodded.

Mitch looked at me, his eyes filled with sadness.

"Jerome, please, come.  Don't make us have to drag you down there."

I growled angrily.  Why wasn't Mitch on my side?!  He knew I would NEVER do this!

I felt my claws poke out of my paws.  I could see red in my vision.

"I will hurt you if you come closer."  I growled.

A small part of me was crying in terror, another small part was saying I should just go.

My bacca instincts completely destroyed those other parts for the time being.

I WAS NOT GOING TO DIE.

Quentin left the room for some reason.  Mitch blocked the doorway.

"Let me pass if you know what's good for you."  I growled.

That part of me that said I should go hurt.  It hurt because I was growling at Mitch.

But this didn't feel like Mitch anymore.

I felt betrayed.

Humans just can't be trusted, can they?

"Would you go straight to the Grand Hall?"  He asked quietly.

"What do you think?"  I asked angrily.

God, I don't think I've ever felt this angry in my life.

Mitch stiffened.  "I'm sorry, biggums...."  He whispered.

He stepped out of the doorway.

Quentin leapt through the doorway and tackled me.  (Isn't leapt a word?  The computer keeps underlining it in red)

I yelped as we crashed to the floor, Quentin on top.

I didn't see Mitch leave the room.

I growled and thrashed about, trying to throw Quentin off me.

I needed to get out of here.

I scratched him a ton with my claws, but he punched me in the side of my head.  Not enough to knock me out, but enough to leave me dazed.

While I was trying to shake the fog away, I felt Quentin roll me over and pull my wrists back, tying them with something...scratchy...rope!

I shook off the daze and contracted my legs, kicking backwards.  I quickly stood up as fast as I could.

Quentin flew off me and landed with a thud, but he quickly got up and circled around me, causing me to have my back to the door.

I struggled with the rope, but he must've had some good rope-tying skills because it wouldn't budge.  I couldn't even reach the rope with my claws!

I growled and stalked towards Quentin slowly, baring my fangs.

Quentin backed up slowly.

"Jerome."  I heard Mitch's voice call from behind me.

I whirled around to find a wooden sword pressed against my throat.

I blinked, the red retracting from my vision.

Reason returned to me, and I paused.

I felt my aggressive stance fall as I stared into Mitch's eyes.

He looked betrayed, too.

I backed up a step, the wooden sword leaving my throat for the time being.

Quentin grabbed my upper arms.  "Move."

Mitch stood in front, the sword never being lowered as we walked to the Grand Hall.

What have I done...?

As we entered the Grand Hall, Barney, Sub and Sky stared at me as Quentin shoved me into my podium and went to his.

Mitch stood at his, the sword still in his hands.

I struggled with the rope before sighing.

I didn't say anything.

What could I say?

'Hey, I'm sorry for trying to kill you, but I didn't kill Ian and Crainer.'?

Yeah, that wasn't going to work.

"Where the heck did you get the rope from?"  Sky asked.

"The 4th floor.  I had gone back up there to get some in case we needed it for such a time as this."  He finished, looking at me.

I didn't make eye contact with him.  I just stared angrily at MonoKirby.

"I mean, do we really need to discuss this?  Jerome is obviously the killer.  The axe, the blood, the fact that the two who died are people who have tried to kill him...."  Quentin said monotonously.

I clenched and unclenched my paws behind me.

"Well, guess we don't have much of an argument here, boyo!"

The podium tops slid back.

I knew everyone had hit Jerome, including Mitch.

The slot machine appeared in the center, the slots blank this time.

MonoKirby hit the lever and the slots spun.

Me.  Me.  Me.

We're all gonna die, I'm innocent, I---

GUILTY

"WHOA, HEY WHAT?!"  I exclaimed.

Sky glared at me.  "Why are you so surprised?  You killed them and you know it!"

"That's the thing!  I didn't kill them!"  I said, desperation in my voice.

"Then hows come it sayings that youz the killerz?"  Barney said sullenly.

"I don't know!  I'm not the killer, though!  I hate killing!"

Mitch wouldn't even look at me.

I watched in horror as the little pixel Jerome got sucked up by MonoKirby, who then dashed off the screen.

"Welp, bye, Jerome!"  MonoKirby said a bit too happily.

I growled and jumped back as the trapdoor slid open where I had been standing moments before.

MonoKirby sighed.  "Would someone please get him down there?"

Mitch walked over and gripped my arm tightly.  I tried pulling away from him, but he had an iron grip.

He pushed me directly in front of the hole.

"I'm sorry, biggums."  He whispered as he pushed me in.

I yelped as I fell in, the trapdoor closing above me, leaving me in darkness.

Wait, isn't the chapter supposed to end here, with the next one being my execution?

Why is it still going?

A small light appeared out of nowhere.

I looked around to see that I was in a black room.

I froze as something cut my bonds off.

I whirled around only to see metallic arms grab me and spin my back around, pulling me against something rough and scratchy.  I think it was a log.

I let out a gasp as it slammed me against the log.  The log was standing vertical, so it must've been propped up against the wall or something.

The metallic arms grabbed my wrists and forced them to wrap around the log.  They then tied my wrists together, making it look like I was hugging the log backwards.

They then proceeded to wrap rope around my torso several times.

After that, something knocked the log down, me facing upwards.

I felt the log go up, and then was blinded by light.

You're lucky to have seen the "behind-the-scenes" thing.

I'm not so lucky.
