Chapter 21: Flashbacks

We all stood at our pedestals. Now there were two more photos with pink Xs on podiums... Tyler and Mitch. "And now... Let the household trial commence!" Herobrine announced.

"We don't have enough evidence!" Adam pointed out. "How can we find the killer?"

We heard a small scream from Sukio and Bash replaced him. "Oh! Trial time already?!" Bash asked. "Who did you vote for?"

"We just started the trial." Seto informed.

"Oh." Bash nodded.

"Mitch probably left some sort of evidence for us." Jerome was more calm now. "He wouldn't want us to lose."

"True." Quentin nodded. "Did anyone find a note of some sort?"

"We only found the message in blood I think." I answered. "Did anyone find a note anywhere else?"

Everyone replied with a no. Brice sighed heavily. "Well... We should think back... That's what helped us last time." He suggested.

"Yeah!" Adam chimed in. "Let's think back after Tyler's execution!"

"Well ok..." Ian nodded.

-FLASHBACK-

We went to the greeting room and Herobrine was waiting for us. "Hello all of my favourite houseguests!"

"We're the only houseguests here." Quentin sighed.

"Yes I know." Herobrine shot Quentin a glare. "Anyways, there hasn't been any murders in the last two days and I'm getting kinda bored. So... I have a very serious topic to discuss. There's a traitor in your midst. One person who's working with the Mastermind and me."

We looked around at everyone fearfully. "If there isn't a murder in twenty-four hours the traitor will murder someone to keep the game going. See ya!" And with that Herobrine disappeared.

"A-a-a traitor?" Bash stuttered.

"Well, we have to put the pieces together, before we do anything else." Jerome suggested.

We went back to the mess hall. "Well, it's gotta be one of the people who never really contributed to the conversations about not murdering no matter what." Adam observed.

"So that would be Bash, Ian, Quentin, Seto and Mitch." I looked at each of them.

"I wouldn't think it would be Bash though." Brice spoke up. "He hates murdering."

"But what about Sukio?" Jerome asked.

"Um... Sukio doesn't murder if someone was controlling him... He's a serial killer sure, but he won't murder unless he feels like it." Bash replied. "I would know."

"Welp, we still don't trust you completely but you're good for now." I smiled.

"Ok." Bash nodded.

"And Mitch would never do such a thing! That's final!" Jerome stated.

"I doubt that Ian would be it, he's super enthusiastic about hope!" Brice observed. "And Seto would definitely not be it!"

"But Quentin wouldn't be it either... He always talks at least twice in our conversations." I muttered.

"This isn't getting us anywhere." Adam looked around at everyone.

-FLASHBACK OVER-

"Guys... I know I might be accusing myself here... But I would think it would be one of the people who love hope!" I observed.

"Yeah... That would make sense..." Jerome nodded.

"And possibly one of the people who doesn't look like they wanna murder." Brice added. "No offence Bash."

"None taken." Bash replied.

"So that would be Jason, Bash, Adam, Brice, Ian and Jerome." Question pointed out.

"And not Sukio... 'Cause as we already know, Sukio doesn't murder when he's commanded to." Seto added.

"Ok, I'm gonna think back again." I announced.

-FLASHBACK-

"What about the traitor?" Quentin questioned.

"We shouldn't be having to worry and feel despair... That's what Herobrine wants!" I replied. "So I came up with a solution for now."

"What kinda solution?" Seto raised an eyebrow. "If you're gonna say 'kill off the traitor' that probably won't work."

"No I wasn't gonna say that... So to be on the safe side I suggest that we all stay in groups of at least three. That way we'll all have at least one person who's not the traitor in our group." I suggested.

"Yeah, that seems smart!" Brice exclaimed. "I'm in!"

"I hopefully won't die... So... Sure..." Bash smiled a bit.

"I'm ashamed to say this... But you're probably right Jason." Quentin sighed.

"So in!" Adam smiled wildly.

"Ditto!" Jerome nodded.

"Me too!" Mitch fist bumped the air.

"Sure..." Ian nodded a bit.

"Sounds good." Seto agreed.

-FLASHBACK OVER-

Why would Ian be hesitant about my suggestion? I wondered. Then I thought back to see if he did any other strange things after that.

-FLASHBACK-

The next day we were very startled. No one would dare to step foot in the video game room. We were that scared. Today we hardly talked at breakfast and lunch and now dinner came. We were about ten minutes into dinner when Ian stood up. "Y'know what?"

"Ian, why did you just stand up randomly?" Jerome asked.

"I hate the rule that we have to stay in groups of at least three! I am out of that!" Ian shouted.

I facepalmed. "Here we go..."

"Ha! Finally someone who said that!" Quentin laughed. "I'm definitely out of that too!"

-FLASHBACK OVER-

Ian was the one that suggested to not follow my rule... Strange... I thought. And just in this trial he was hesitant to think back... I think I know why...

-FLASHBACK-

"It says 'traitor' with an underline underneath it." Quentin pointed out. "Even though we know that the traitor already did it..."

"Oh my Notch... It looks like... He wrote it in his own blood..." I breathed out.

-FLASHBACK OVER-

"Hey Quentin... You were the one who pointed out the dying message right?" I asked.

"Yeah... What about it?" Quentin replied.

"Wasn't only a certain part underlined?"

"Yeah."

"What was it?"

"Huh?"

"What was underlined?"

"The 'i', I believe..."

"And there you have it." I stated.

"And there we have what?" Seto asked.

"And there I know who killed Mitch."

YAY A DOUBLE UPDATE!!!

Stay weird,
