CHAPTER TEN, wedding day

(brylee's outfit for this part of the chapter)

(bennett's outfit for this part of the chapter)

Brylee couldn't believe it. Her mom and Shawn were getting married. It almost didn't seem real. They were engaged! The family was so happy for them and couldn't wait until the wedding. It was finally happening. But she understood why Maya was still hesitant and didn't want to get her hopes up. Part of her felt the same way. She didn't want her sister or the rest of her family to get their hearts broken if something did happen. But part of her hoped that maybe, just maybe, this time it would work out.

She was currently pacing in her room, chewing on her nails. Her window was open, but she didn't even realize Bennett had came through the window. He had his hands in his pockets, watching her pace. Concern filled his gaze and he sighed. He knew she had been worried about the wedding, but he didn't think it was this bad.

"You're gonna wear a hole into the floor if you keep pacing like that." Bennett teased, trying to lighten the mood.

"Oh." Brylee stops pacing and turns around. She hadn't noticed him there and his voice had caught her off guard. "I didn't hear you come in." She mumbled, rubbing the back of her neck.

"What, no remark?" Bennett asks with surprise, raising his eyebrows. "You must really be worried if you don't have anything to say."

"Well, yeah." She shrugged, glancing away and continuing to chew on her nails. A new habit she had picked up on.

"What's going on in that pretty head of yours?" He questioned, walking over and grabbing her hand gently. Her heart fluttered at his words and soft touch and butterflies swarmed in her stomach at seeing the concerned look on his face that was also filled with care and love.

"I'm worried. About the wedding. About my mom. About Maya. I just- I don't want them to get hurt. They've had enough hurt." She explained, letting out a breath and running a hand through her hair.

"What about you?" He asked, his question catching her off guard.

"What?" She breathed out, furrowing her eyebrows.

"You're worried about everyone else, but not yourself? You've had too much hurt too, but you're not worried about that?" Bennett inquired, his brows furrowing together. He knows she can often put her feelings aside and worry more about others and not herself. And he wishes she wouldn't do that.

"Oh, um, I'm fine." She mumbles, brushing the topic off. He knew she wasn't fine, but he decided not to press further. She would talk to him when she wanted to. "I just hope this time things will be different." She whispers. "But I also hope they won't." She sighs, her shoulders dropping in defeat. "I don't even know what I'm saying anymore."

Bennett nods, grabbing her hand and squeezing it gently. "It's okay." He reassures her, bringing her hand to his mouth to kiss the back of it which caused blush to dust her cheeks and a shy smile to tug on her lips. "And I know what will cheer you up." He grinned, grabbing her jacket that was hanging off the desk chair and holding it out for her.

"And what would that be?" She glanced at him curiously, taking her jacket from him.

"Ice cream." He grinned. Normally when she was upset or stressed, they would go get ice cream. It was their go to place and it had become a tradition of theirs.

"That always cheers me up." She agreed, a smile making its way onto her face. He always seemed to know how to cheer her up and make her feel better. He knew her and was always there for her. She was lucky to have him in her life.

"Exactly." He nodded, grabbing her hand and lacing their fingers together.

"You always know how to cheer me up." She murmured, a soft smile forming when he leaned over to kiss her cheek.

"I try." He said softly, giving her hand a squeeze and began to gently tug her towards the door. "Come on, let's get some ice cream."

The next day, Brylee found herself sitting on the bay window in Riley's room next to her and her sister. "They're getting married!" Riley gushed.

"I'll believe it when I see it." Maya admitted.

Brylee chuckles, glancing at her sister. "Come on, Maya. Try to be optimistic. Mom's been through a lot and she deserves happiness. I can tell Shawn makes her happy."

"I agree mom deserves happiness, but dad made her happy at one point too, right? And then it went down hill after they got married. I don't want the same thing to happen with her and Shawn." Maya confessed with a sigh. Brylee's face softened and she placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"Maya." Brylee began, looking at her sister with a reassuring expression. "Shawn is a lot different than dad. I don't think he would hurt mom. He cares about him a lot. I mean, he did propose to her, he told her he loves her. So that has to mean something."

"But those are just words." Maya mumbles. "Anyone can say them, but it doesn't mean they mean them."

"True, but I have a feeling this is real. He cares about her and she cares about him. And the wedding will prove it." Brylee reassured her, giving her a small smile. Maya was hesitant and Brylee understood. She had every reason to be. She had seen more of their mom's and dad's relationship than Maya had since Maya had been so young and didn't remember him much. She had been there the nights hearing them fight and argue. She had protected Maya from most of them. She didn't want Maya to see their parents fighting. Maya had been young and she wanted Maya to have good memories of their dad even if he wasn't the best dad.

"I'm just worried." Maya sighed, glancing away from her.

"Maya Penelope Hunter and Brylee Quinn Hunter!" Riley excitedly said.

"No still Maya and Brylee Hart." Maya argued.

"What's my name gonna be?" Riley questioned curiously.

"Still Riley Matthews." Brylee chuckled, amused by Riley's optimism.

"How do you not understand this?" Maya inquired, furrowing her eyebrows at Riley.

"I can't even think straight. So excited." Riley grins, her eyes lighting up with excitement. "Once Uncle Shawn marries your mother it's like we're gonna be related. We're already like sisters, you too Brylee, and then we're gonna be like cousins!" Her face fell as she realized what she said. "That's-That's less. What happened?" She pouted.

Brylee giggles, glancing at her with amusement. She had to admit it made her smile that Riley included her, thinking of her like a sister as well. She thought the same about Riley. "Riles, that's not really how it works." She commented.

"Okay, good. 'Cause I liked it better when we were already like sisters." Riley admitted and Brylee chuckled, nodding in agreement.

"Riley, you know how I feel about hope, okay?" Maya speaks up. She glances over at Brylee, who was about to speak, but she stopped her before she could. "You too, B. Please don't get my hopes up for this wedding." Brylee looked at her sympathetically, a frown forming on her face.

"Hope is not for suckers anymore, Maya." Riley reminds Maya. "Hope has finally come around to beam for you." She smiles, booping Maya's nose. "You too, Bry." She added, reaching over to boop Brylee's nose which earned a small chuckle from her.

"Well, I'd like to believe that," Maya confesses. "But you turned me back into me, and me knows better."

"Hey, happily ever after is happening so get your fairytale butt out of the dungeon and into the sunlight." Riley grinned. Maya looks annoyed, dramatically leaning her head on Brylee's shoulder. Brylee chuckles lightly, patting her head for comfort. Riley leaned her head on Maya's shoulder with a smile.

"And here comes the dragon to burn down everything." Maya remarked after there was a knock on the door, lifting her head off Brylee's shoulder and Riley lifted her head off Maya's shoulder.

"Hi, girls." Topanga greeted.

"The wedding's off. I knew it. I mean 'hi'." Maya corrected herself quickly, wincing when Brylee smacked her arm lightly.

"She's a-scared." Riley explained.

"You're his best friends, Matthews. You know he ain't going through with it." Maya pointed out.

"As long as I've known him, I have never seen him this happy." Cory grimaces. "Because I've never seen him happy."

"That's sad." Brylee frowned. She was upset to hear that, she was sure Cory might've been overreacting, he did that often, but she still felt bad for Shawn. But she was happy to hear that even Cory thought Shawn and her's and Maya's mom will stay together and are happy together.

"Maya, we are planning the wedding. We want you to help." Topanga smiled at Maya.

"This is happening?" Maya asked, furrowing her eyebrows. She looked like she still didn't believe it and Brylee didn't blame her. It almost didn't seem real. She still couldn't believe her mom and Shawn were getting married.

"This is happening." Riley confirmed.

"Prove it." Maya childishly demanded.

"Katy!" Topanga called out.

"Happy!" Cory added which made Brylee chuckle.

"Please be there." Maya pleaded and Brylee sent her a small smile, putting her hand on Maya's knee to give it a comforting squeeze. They glance over at the open door and Brylee's lips curled up at seeing her mom and Shawn walk in. Katy's arm was wrapped around Shawn's arm and they were holding hands. They were both smiling when they walked in and Brylee knew they were both happy. She could tell they were.

"Hey. What's up, kiddo?" Shawn asked, smiling at Maya while Cory and Topanga sat down at the bay window by Riley.

"Maya's scared that the wedding's gonna come apart like-Come apart like-What is something that has come apart?" Riley questioned, glancing at Brylee and Maya with confusion.

"All of their previous relationships." Maya replied and Brylee nodded in agreements.

"Exactly." Brylee spoke, glancing at her mom and Shawn along with the others.

"Girls, Shawn and I are blessed to have found each other. No one's going anywhere." Katy reassured them.

"How can you be sure?" Maya asked with a samll frown.

"'Cause of this." Katy grinned, stepping to the side a bit to reveal she and Shawn had their fingers hooked together by a Chinese finger trap. Brylee smiled, giggling a bit as they chuckled. They really were perfect for each other.

"Come on, Maya. Your mom and I are perfect for each other." Shawn replied, smiling at Katy. Brylee's smile grew, his words confirming what she thought.

Cory scoffs. "Twist the knife, why don't ya?"

"Try to be strong, Cory." Topanga told him.

"Thirty years I gave him." Cory grumbled, glaring at Shawn. Brylee chuckled, glancing at him with amusement. Her gaze turned to Maya when she spoke and her face softened at what Maya said.

"Those are just words, Shawn. You love each other then prove it." Maya voiced.

Katy and Shawn dramatically pull apart from the Chinese finger trap and then Shawn glances at Maya with a smile. "I've always known how to get out of anything, Maya. The only thing that holds me here is her." Katy put the Chinese finger trap on a nearby desk, smiling at Shawn when he wrapped his arm around her shoulders. She leaned into him, her arm wrapping around his waist.

"Aww!" Brylee said in unison along with Riley and Topanga. Brylee thought Shawn and her mom were adorable. She was happy for them. Cory wasn't happy though. He stood up with a scowl.

"You make me sick." He then walked out of the room and Brylee chuckled, rolling her eyes.

"Well, it's good he left 'cause he would've hated this." Shawn chuckles, turning to face Katy with a smile. "'There was nowhere to go but everywhere, so just keep on rolling under the stars.' Kerouac wrote that in On the Road. I feel like my entire life I've been on the road."

"Well, welcome home." Katy smiled softly and pulled him in for a hug. Brylee watched the two of them and smiled softly. She hoped that they would work out and stay together forever. They acted like they really did love each other and that's all she wanted for her mom. She wanted her mom to be happy and it seemed like Shawn was the one for her. She really did believe that.

"Something good is happening for me?" Shawn asked with surprise, but there was a light teasing to his tone as they pulled away from the hug. Katy chuckled and grinned at him.

"Something good is happening for us?" Maya inquired, glancing at Brylee with furrowed eyebrows. Brylee smiled softly at her, moving her hand from her knee to hold Maya's hand.

"It's about time, isn't it?" Brylee smiled at her, giving her hand a comforting squeeze.

"We got a wedding to plan, Maya. You gonna be a part of it?" Riley questioned with a soft smile.

****

Brylee did still have her doubts about her mom and Shawn, but she was starting to believe more that this was actually happening and that they were perfect for each other. She did understood why Maya still was worried about it. She had good reasons to be worried. She just hoped this worked out and they would have a happy life together.

"Question number ten. Do the thoughts of your fiancé make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside?" Topanga asked Katy as they looked at a magazine. They were currently at Topanga's, Brylee was there along with her sister and Riley. Bennett was also there since he was working that day.

"I don't even know his middle name." Katy admitted.

"It's Patrick." Topanga told her.

"Patrick." Katy gasps, her eyes lighting up and she felt herself melt just at that. "Shawn Patrick Hunter...I wanna marry him!" She grins. She points at herself. "Fuzzy!"

Topanga chuckles. "Okay, I'll-I'll go ahead and put 'yes'."

"Why would someone who had something go so unbelievably wrong want to do it all over again?" Maya inquired, watching her mom and Topanga look at the magazine.

"She loves Shawn?" Riley asked.

"Because not every relationship will be like the one she had with dad?" Brylee chimed in, glancing at Maya.

"Exactly." Riley agrees. "Shawn isn't like your guys father."

"What if our father wasn't like our father until he met our mother?" Maya questioned, looking at Brylee. Brylee furrowed her eyebrows as she thought about it. She hadn't thought about that before.

"Um-" Riley started, but Maya continued.

"What if our mother has some sort of, like, nut gene that in combination with any man at all makes him go from 'I do' to 'what I do'?" Maya rambled.

"M, Shawn won't be like dad." Brylee reassured her.

"But you don't really know that." Maya pointed out. Brylee grew quiet at that because Maya had a point. She didn't know what Shawn would be like after he and their mom got married. All she could do was hope for the best.

"Well, I think that the hope is that Shawn is not just any man at all." Riley said.

"I want him in our life forever." Maya confessed.

"So?" Riley inquired.

"So our experience is that getting married kills that real good." Maya answered.

"Well, that's not what happens in my experience." Riley mumbled.

"Well, you're lucky and I'm not." Maya shrugged.

"I'm not completely lucky, but I like to say I have some luck." Brylee admits. "I was lucky enough to find someone who cares a lot about me." She glances over at Bennett, who had just handed a drink to a customer. He locked eyes with her and sent her a smile and a wave. She smiled, waving back at him. She looks back at her sister and Maya. "But M, just because our parents marriage didn't work out, doesn't mean the same will happen for her and Shawn."

"But what if it does?" Maya asks. "I'm not saying that I don't want it to happen for her. I want her to be happy, but what if it doesn't work out?" She sighed.

"I'll give you guys all the luck I got." Riley grinned, standing up. She made whooshing sounds and dramatically acted as if she was pulling all her luck and throwing it onto the sisters. Brylee and Maya both acted as if they caught the luck and Riley grinned at them.

"Thanks, Riles. Did you save any luck for yourself?" Maya asked, raising her eyebrows at the brunette.

"Okay, here." Riley acted as if she was grabbing her extra luck hidden from her shoe and tossed it at Brylee and Maya. She then sat down with a smile.

"Okay, Katy." Topanga smiles at her friend. "By the power vested in me as the quiz giver of this magazine, I know declare..." Topanga closes the magazine, setting it to the side. "None of this means anything. Here's what matters. You're on the edge of a cliff. Today is the cliff. Tomorrow, there is nothing underneath your feet. Hopefully every day brings solid ground. But with everything you know..." She smiles, taking hold of Katy's hand. "Are you jumping or what?"

Katy chuckles, holding Topanga's hand. "I have long since reconciled with God that if nothing else remarkable happens in my life," Katy gets up and walks over to her daughters. "I am thankful for my daughters," She leans over and gave them a small hug, earning a smile from them. "And for friends who care about me. And if that's all I ever get, then it's a lovely life and I'm grateful for it."

"Well, Katy, as your friend, I want you to have more." Topanga said softly, walking over to Katy.

"You're so sweet." Katy commented, looking at her gratefully and pulled her in for a hug. Then the two women walk back over to the counter together.

"Maya, Brylee, as your friend, I want you guys to have more." Riley confessed.

Brylee smiles softly. "Thank you, Riley."

"You heard her." Maya shakes her head. "She has a lovely life now, and you know what the difference is between this time and last time?"

"I'm not sure I wanna know what the difference is." Brylee sighed.

"What?" Riley asked.

"I'm here to stop anything that could change that." Maya responded, standing up and left the place.

"Yep, I didn't want to know that." Brylee frowned, watching her sister with concern.

"You don't think she's going to..." Riley trailed off.

"Do something drastic? Have you met her?" Brylee scoffs and got up, grabbing her purse. "We have to stop her. Come on, we gotta go find her. But first, hold on." She walked over to the counter to where Bennett was cleaning. He glanced over at her with a bright smile, his face turning a bit red when she suddenly leaned over and kissed his cheek. "I'll talk to you later, okay?" She grinned.

"I-Uh-Yeah. Okay." He stammered, his face turning more red.

She giggles, finding it adorable. She then pulls away and follows Riley out the door. "So, it seems you two are still close." Riley grinned at her.

"Nuh uh, don't change the subject. We gotta find Maya." Brylee quickly said, her face heating up.

Riley laughs, shaking her head. "Alright, but we're talking about this later." She grinned.

Brylee sighs, but nods her head in agreement. "Fine, but now we need to find my sister."

****

The girls follow Maya to the Matthews apartment, but the door was closed and locked. "Who is it?" Maya's voice is heard on the other side after Riley knocked on the door.

"Riley Matthews and Brylee Hart." Riley replied.

Maya unlocks the door and opens it. "I'm doing this myself, okay? I don't need your stupid optimism. I only want reality. Brylee, I don't need your sisterly advice either. So please leave." She tried to close the door, but Brylee put her foot in the way.

"Nope, I'm not going anywhere. If you're going to do this, I'm going to be by your side." Brylee said, pushing the door open.

"Bry-" Maya starts, but is interrupted.

"No, M, this is not the time to push me away." Brylee tells her. "You can push Riley away which is still not right, but I'm not letting you push me away." She said firmly, crossing her arms as she stared down at Maya.

Maya sighs. "Fine." Riley tried talking again, but Maya closed the door before Riley could say anything or walk in.

"Well, the reality is you forgot to bolt the door!" Riley quipped, opening the door. She gasped when Maya quickly closed the door, bolting it this time.

"Ya chow! Keys!" Riley grinned, unlocking the door with her keys.

"Ya chow! Let me see! Yeah." Maya snatched the keys from her, closing the door and locking it. She then tossed the keys on the couch.

"Maya." Brylee sighs. She didn't know why her sister was doing this. Yes, she understood that she didn't want their mom's relationship with Shawn to end badly, but this was not the right way to go about this. "Please don't do this."

"Well, now I'm stuck good." Riley complained from the other side of the door.

"I'm not listening to you, Brylee. I'm doing this." Maya replies, shaking her head. She walks over to where Shawn stood by Cory. "Why do you want to marry our mother?"

"To get back at me." Cory glared at Shawn and walked into the kitchen and dining room area.

"'Cause I love her, Maya." Shawn responded, walking over to Maya.

"Words. Those are just words." Maya shook her head, a frown on her lips.

"Yeah, they are." Shawn agrees. "But I don't say those words a lot, alright?" He admits and Brylee's face softens. "I was never even sure what they meant. And now I am. There's the best words I got. So, they're important. I want you two to understand that." He said, glancing between her and Brylee.

Maya suddenly runs out of the room, heading for the hallway. Brylee sighs, knowing what that meant. "Riley is trying to sneak in." She explained to the two confused men and they nod in realization.

"Brylee, you understand that I love your mom, right?" Shawn questioned, glancing at Brylee with a hopeful glint in his eyes.

"Of course I do. I can see you guys love each other. But I understand where Maya is coming from. I'm worried about it too, but not as much as she is. I'm worried about her too." Brylee rambles. "She doesn't always let herself have something good, she doesn't often believe she deserves it."

Shawn nods. "I understand. She's scared of being let down again. I get that. But I hope she sees how serious I am about your mom and I hope that I can prove to her that I'll never leave. That I will be there for her and Katy, for you."

Brylee smiles softly, feeling happy and relieved by his words. She really wanted this to work out. "Thank you, Shawn. I really do believe you." She said softly.

"Good, 'cause it's true." He reassured her.

Maya then ran back into the room. "Continue." She said to Shawn.

"I already asked you and Brylee for your blessing, and you guys gave it." Shawn reminded her.

"Yes, okay." Maya nods in agreement. "That's why words aren't enough. Look, I feel different. I feel scared."

"Of what?" Shawn asked softly, sitting on the couch.

"Of why this needs to happen at all." Maya replies, sitting on the couch. "You like our mother, she likes you. Everyone's happy, so what's the reason that anything else needs to happen?"

"You and me are the same." Shawn realized.

"We are." Maya agrees. "Bad things happen to us."

"They do." Shawn agreed.

"So what if life doesn't know that this is happening yet and life figures out that we're involved?" Maya then whispers, "That's when something bad happens." Brylee chuckled softly and shook her head at her sister.

Cory furrows his eyebrows. "What if she's right?"

"Wait, really?" Brylee asked with surprise, glancing at him as her eyes widen slightly.

"She's wrong." Shawn chimed in.

"Why?" Cory asked him.

Shawn stands up. "Because I want her to be wrong."

"Why get life involved with a big ceremony?" Maya inquired, standing up as well.

"Because your mother and I want to invite life to this ceremony, Maya. We want life to change us for the better." Shawn explained.

"Promise me this will work." Maya quietly said, looking at him pleadingly.

"No, I can't." Shawn confesses. "I can promise that I want it to. And I can promise that you and Brylee are a big part of that. Ask me why."

"Why?" Maya asked.

"'Cause I never want to let you guys down." Shawn admitted. Brylee smiled softly at hearing that. She loved how much Shawn cared about her and Maya, and how much he wanted to be there for them. It was sweet and she knew he was sincere about it. She could tell by Maya's surprised face that she was slowly starting to believe Shawn was telling the truth. She looked over at the door along with the others when it opened. Topanga, Riley, and Katy walked in along with Bennett.

"Get her!" Riley points at Maya. "And get my key back."

"I feel like I missed a lot." Bennett murmured, confused at what Riley meant.

Brylee chuckles, smiling a little at him. "Yeah, you missed a lot, Benny."

"Maya, what are you doin'?" Katy asked with a small smile.

"I know you like me and Brylee. We like you too..." Maya pauses, glancing at Brylee for confirmation. "Right?"

"Yes, Maya. I like him too." Brylee chuckled a bit, sending her a small smile.

Maya nods, looking back at Shawn. "Thanks for everything you've ever done for us because it's perfect. I want it to stay perfect. I don't want it to not be perfect, so game over. Thanks for playing."

"Hey, kid, let me stop you right there." Shawn cut in. "This wedding ain't about you. Or you." He added, pointing at Brylee.

"Well, I knew that." Brylee shrugged.

"What?" Maya breathed out, furrowing her eyebrows and she looked a bit surprise.

"This wedding is about your mother and me." Shawn walks over to Katy, wrapping his arm around her. In response, she smiles and wraps his arm around him. "I'm marrying her because I love her."

Katy's eyes lit up and she smiles at him. "Hey, thanks."

"Anytime." Shawn grins. "You're gonna hear it a lot." He glances at Maya. "And guess what else? We respect your tragedies, Maya. You too, Brylee." He adds, glancing between the two sisters. "We do. We've had our own. But we're taking a leap of faith here. You wanna jump with us?"

"I do." Brylee replied without hesitation, giggling along with her mom as she joined them, hugging her mom. Katy smiled softly at her, wrapping her other arm around her and kissing her head.

Maya is silent for a few moments before saying, "Prove you're ready." She said, looking hesitant and unsure.

"What, right now?" Shawn asked with surprise.

"Right now." Maya nodded.

"I can't do that. How could I possibly do that?" Shawn questioned, pretending to sound surprised. He then intertwined his hand with Katy's and headed for the door. Brylee watched them begin to leave with a grin. She then went to stand by Bennett, who she shared a smile with, her smile widening and blush forming on her face when he intertwined his hand with her and kissed her cheek.

"Hey, Maya." Maya glances back at the door, surprised when Shawn looks back at her with a smile. "We jumpin' or what?" Maya is confused but she still went out the door to follow him and Katy. Brylee grinned along with Bennett and they were quick to follow Maya as Riley and her parents followed as well.

****

Brylee and Bennett followed Shawn and the others to the roof that was decorated for a wedding. Chairs were lined up, flowers and ribbons were hung up, and candles were placed near the entrance. "So what do you wanna do tonight? Dinner, movie...Get married?" Shawn asked with a smile, gesturing to the flower covered alter.

Katy gasps. "Huh." Her eyes widen as she looked around the roof.

"Wow." Brylee murmured, her eyes wide while taking in the sight. "This is beautiful."

"Yeah, I just hope our wedding will look as amazing as this does." Bennett casually said, squeezing her hand.

"Yeah-Wait, what?" Brylee turned her head to him with a shocked expression, her face bright red. Did he really just insinuate he wanted to marry her in the future? She couldn't help the huge grin forming on her face, and her heart was racing faster than it had ever had before.

He laughs softly, finding her reaction amusing. "One day." He confirmed.

"I'll be holding you to that, Benny." She said softly, her heart pounding against her chest. She couldn't stop smiling. She felt so happy and giddy.

"I wouldn't have it any other way." He responded, squeezing her hand and leaning over to kiss her forehead, earning a soft smile and a fond look from her.

"Well isn't this reckless and spontaneous of you, Shawn Patrick Hunter." Katy grinned, walking over to Shawn and taking hold of his hands.

"That's me." Shawn smiled brightly at her and she chuckled.

"Oh my gosh." Maya said quietly, her lips forming into a smile as Riley took her hand to comfort her. "He really loves her. She really loves him."

"It's about time you believe it." Brylee joked. Maya turned to her and rolled her eyes, but she had a small smile on her face. She then walked over to her.

"Mind if I steal her? Thanks." Maya spoke, grabbing her sister's free hand and pulling her away from Bennett before he could say anything.

"Uh, yeah, sure, why not." Bennett chuckled, watching as Maya dragged Brylee over to their mom and Shawn.

"Shawn?" Maya asks, looking nervous. "Um, it would-it would be okay if, like, some of this had a little to do with us." Maya stammered, holding onto Brylee's hand tighter. Brylee giggled a bit at her question and she smiled, squeezing her hand.

"She has a point though." Brylee admits, glancing at Shawn curiously and hopefully. "I mean, we're kinda part of your life too. Right?"

"Absolutely." Shawn smiled softly at the sisters and nodded. The two sisters smiled at him in response.

"That's nice." Katy grins, walking over to her two daughters and wrapped her arms around them. "That's so nice!" They hug her back as Maya laughed. She pulls away from them, smiling at Shawn. "Would you please excuse me?"

"Maybe for a second." Shawn teased.

"Alright." Katy chuckled and walked away.

"I got nothin' to wear." Katy said nervously to Topanga. "I got no shoes. I got flip flops. I'mma flip flop down the aisle."

"You got anything to wear?" Cory asked as he walked over to Shawn."

"Uh," Shawn glances at his outfit and then back at Cory. "This here on my body."

"Yeah." Cory nods then he grimaces and shakes his head. "No."

"What? What? No, we have to! The guy whose marrying us gets here in an hour!" Shawn tells him as Cory began to drag him away. When they went past Katy and Topanga, he smiles and points at Katy. "You're gonna love him."

"Oh." Katy chuckles and smiles. She glances at Topanga. "You my maid of honor?"

"Uh huh." Topanga nodded.

"Do it." Katy replied, outstretching her arm to Topanga with a worried and nervous look on her face.

"Okay." Topanga grabbed her arm and pulled her to the door.

Brylee chuckled along with Bennett and she went to sit down with him at one of the benches while the girls sat by each other on the other one. Maya still looked like she was in disbelief, but she had a small smile on her face.

"This is something good." Riley said softly, smiling at her. "This is something good that is happening to you and your sister, Maya."

Maya nods, her smile widening. "This is what it feels like." Riley smiled softly and leaned over to hug her.

Brylee and Bennett smiled at the two girls before they smiled at each other. He wrapped his arm around her shoulders to pull her closer. She gladly leaned into his embrace, wrapping her arms around him. "Thank you for coming here tonight. This has been a roller coaster, and I'm glad you were here to go through it with me. Thank you." She said softly, smiling warmly at him.

"There's no where else I would rather be." Bennett admits. "When Riley said something was going on with you and Maya, I didn't hesitate to join them. Thankfully, Aunt Topanga let me take off work early."

"Well I'm glad." She chuckles, kissing his cheek and resting her head on his shoulder. "Things are much better when you're by my side."

He chuckles and kisses her head, pulling her closer. "Likewise, babe."

"So, can we talk about you guys now?" Riley asks with a grin. Brylee chuckles and shakes her head, her face turning red. "What?" Riley giggles. "You said we can talk about this later. Guess what? It's later."

"Riley..." Maya warned Riley with a shake of her head, a grin forming on her face.

"It's fine." Brylee waves a dismissive hand and smiles at Riley. "What is it that you want to know, Riles?"

"Everything!" Riley says excitedly. Then she pauses and cringes. "Okay, not everything." Brylee and Bennett chuckled softly and smiled at her, telling her how things were going for them and how long they've been together. "I'm really happy for you guys." Riley admitted with a soft smile.

"I'm honestly surprised you guys lasted this long." Maya admits. "You guys hated each other before."

"Yeah, but now we love each other." Bennett said softly, giving Brylee a look that made her melt.

"Wait..." Brylee looks at him with surprise, her eyes widening and her face turning red. "You love me?" She stammered. They hadn't said the 'l' word to each other yet so hearing Bennett say it was surprising. She knew she loves him, she just hadn't had the courage to tell him.

"Of course I do. How could I not love you?" He asks, his hand cupping her face as he smiles warmly at her. "I've loved you for awhile now, just hadn't had the courage to admit it until now. But, yeah, I love you, Bry."

"I love you too." She whispered, a huge smile on her face as her cheeks turned bright red. Her heart was racing, and her stomach was doing flips. She felt so happy, and so giddy.

"Aww." Riley gushed, smiling widely at her friend and cousin.

"Alright, don't go crazy, Riles." Maya joked, but she had a smile on her face as she watched her sister and Bennett. She was happy for them, and happy for herself. Things were going great, and she hoped they would stay that way.

Soon it was time for the wedding. Ava was the flower girl and Auggie joined her with throwing flowers. Topanga was Katy's maid of honor, walking ahead of Riley and Maya. Brylee and Bennett walked behind them, all coordinating and wearing something involving light pink. Mr. Feeny suddenly walked onto the roof and Brylee and Bennett were shocked at seeing him. They didn't think he would be the minister, but they were happy that he was.

"Fee-nay?" Topanga grinned, looking surprised but her eyes still lit up at seeing her old teacher.

"Fuh-huh-" Riley and Maya started with a grin, but Mr. Feeny stopped them.

"Cut it out."

"Yes, sir." Topanga and the girls replied in unison while Brylee and Bennett chuckled.

"Who's that?" Ava asked with confusion.

"Mr. Feeny." Auggie replied.

"Who's Mr. Feeny?" Ava questioned.

"I think he's my grandfather." Auggie shrugged.

"You're a minster too?" Riley asked curiously, glancing at Mr. Feeny with furrowed eyebrows.

"Just go with it." Mr. Feeny answered, waving a dismissive hand.

"Okay." Riley murmured.

"I am many things to many people." Mr. Feeny voiced.

Auggie stands up with a wide smile. "Grandpa!"

"No!" Mr. Feeny firmly said, pointing at him. Auggie frowned and sat back down.

Shawn and Cory then walked onto the roof, dressed in grey suits. "You can't come out with me." Shawn told Cory when he had started going down the aisle and Cory had started to follow.

"I'm giving you away." Cory defended himself.

Shawn nods, looking amused but he still smiles. "Okay. Give me away."

Cory puts his hands on Shawn's shoulders and grins. "You're a good little boy."

"I've done some things." Shawn played along.

"Yeah, well, you're her problem now." Cory smiles. "Bye-bye. Go get married." He turned Shawn around and gestured for him to go. Shawn chuckled and walked down the aisle.

"May I give you away too?" Cory inquired, glancing over to where Katy stood. Katy soon walked out, wearing a simple yet beautiful wedding dress, holding a bouquet of flowers. Brylee could feel tears brim her eyes, but they weren't tears of sadness, no, they were happy tears. She couldn't believe this was happening.

"I'm probably gonna cry." Maya admitted, her voice wavering and her eyes teary.

"I'm already there." Brylee confessed with a sniffle.

"Baby." Riley teased despite the tears in her eyes.

Brylee watched with a soft smile as her mom walked down the aisle. She then glanced at Shawn, noticing the awestruck expression on his face and she's pretty sure she saw tears in his eyes. Her smile widened and she turned her gaze back to her mom and Cory. Katy then stood in front of Shawn, the two smiling softly at each other.

"We are gathered here today to witness the joining of two souls: Shawn Patrick Hunter and Katy Grace...Cleeterbooskay." Mr. Feeny spoke.

"It's Clutterbucket." Katy corrected.

"Yes, I know. I'm just trying to give you some dignity." Mr. Feeny admitted.

"Well, then make me Hunter as quick as you can." Katy smiled, earning a smile from Shawn.

"Now I believe you two have written your own vows." Mr. Feeny voices. "Mr. Hunter, the assignment is due right now."

"He needs more time, Feeny." Cory quipped and Shawn shot him a playful glare.

"You got anything?" Mr. Feeny asked Katy.

"Yeah." Katy unfolds a piece of paper she had. "I was looking for a quote that applied to us, and what I found was...'Marrying for love may be a bit risky, but it is so honest, God can't help but smile on it'. The lives we've lead until now have made us both wonder if life knows what it's doing with us at all."

"Here's my life." Shawn unfolds a piece of paper he held and began reading his vows. "My two best friends get married...And have a daughter who has a best friend, that best friend has an amazing older sister and their mother is you. I believe in life and in the long road that led me here to you. I promise I'll walk with you as long as you'll let me."

"I promise I will walk with you no matter where it leads." Katy chimed in with a soft smile.

"As long as you're next to me...This is our road." Shawn finished, looking at her with nothing but love and adoration.

"Who wrote that for you?" Mr. Feeny inquired, furrowing his eyebrows.

"We wrote it together." Katy grinned.

"Huh. Well, Mr. Hunter, I always knew you had potential." Mr. Feeny commented as the couple put away their vows.

Ava sniffles, gaining Auggie's attention. "What's the matter, Ava?" Auggie asked in concern.

"This reminds me of our wedding." Ava smiled softly.

"It's their time now, darling." Auggie responds, smiling at her. "We lived our lives."

"Do you, Katy Grace, take Shawn Patrick-"

"Wait a minute," Brylee is surprised when Maya suddenly spoke up. She watches with wide eyes when she walked over to stand by their mom, glancing at Shawn. "Before this happens, I'm with you. I'm jumping with you."

Shawn smiles softly, outstretching his hand to her and she takes it. "Thanks, kiddo."

Maya smiles and then turns to her mom, who had been smiling at her the whole time. "And I've always been with you." Katy chuckled and pulled her in for a hug.

"You guys probably already knew this but me too." Brylee chimed in, walking over to join the hug with a bright smile. Both Maya and their mom giggle and hug her back as Shawn smiled at them.

"Proceed." Maya spoke, walking back over to Topanga and Riley along with Brylee, her arm linked with her sister's.

"To have and to hold until death do you part?" Mr. Feeny continued.

"Yes. Yes, I do no matter what happens." Katy replied without hesitation.

"And do you, Shawn Patrick, take Katy Grace to have and to hold until death do you part?" Mr. Feeny questioned.

"I do." Shawn replies, his eyes lighting up. He glances around at everyone excitedly. "Guys!" Giggles and chuckles fill the air after his excited comment. "I do." Shawn added, smiling fondly at Katy.

"Then I pronounce you man and wife." Katy and Shawn wasted no time and Katy was the first one to lean in and pull him close to kiss him. "You-You may-Yeah, but-okay." Mr. Feeny shrugged as everyone else clapped and cheered for the new married couple.

Everyone started to walk back down the aisle together but before they got to the door, Katy threw her bouquet and Ava caught it. Topanga grimaces. "Great." She sarcastically commented.

****

"We did it!" Riley grinned.

"We technically did nothing." Bennett pointed out, sitting beside Brylee on the bay window in Riley's room. Maya and Riley sat by the other side of Bennett.

"We were moral support." Brylee decided, chuckling along with Bennett.

"Wait, is Shawn our father now?" Maya questioned, glancing at Brylee.

"Not officially. He would have to adopt you guys first." Riley pointed out.

Maya pouts. "Get on it."

"I'm all over it." Riley reassured her. Brylee chuckled and leaned into Bennett, smiling when he kissed the top of her head and wrapped his arm around her shoulders. The four teen's gaze is brought over to the door when Shawn and Katy walk in, smiling at each other.

"Hello, my wife." Shawn grinned.

"Hello, my husband." Katy giggled, following Shawn over to the bay window.

"Hello, my wife." Cory said to Topanga with a grin when he and Topanga walked in. He tried to act like Shawn and Katy did, but Topanga wasn't having it.

"What are you doing?" Topanga shook her head, looking at him with amusement. They walk over to the bay window, sitting beside their daughter. Brylee smiled at her mom and Shawn when they sat by her and Bennett. Shawn sat at the end of the bay window, Katy sitting on his lap.

"Hey, where are you guys going on your honeymoon?" Ava asked curiously when she and Auggie walked in.

Katy smiles. "Shawn is taking me to Fiji."

"Take me to Fiji." Ava demanded, looking at Auggie.

"You killed me, Shawn." Auggie complained, sitting on the bed by Ava. Brylee and Bennett chuckled at the young couple, both finding them adorable.

"You ready?" Shawn questioned, smiling at Katy.

"For the rest of my life." Katy answered, the smile never leaving her face as she stood.

"Um, are we your daughters now?" Maya inquired, standing up and walking over to the new married couple which stopped them from going to the door. Brylee is surprised she suddenly asked that, but she had to admit she wondered that too.

"Yeah, are we?" Brylee asked, pulling away from Bennett to stand up and stand by Maya, looking at Shawn curiously. She had a hopeful glint in her eye too as she looked at Shawn.

"Well, it's how I'd like to think of you two. If it's okay." Shawn replied, glancing at the two girls hopefully.

"That is the most okay thing that's ever happened to me." Maya admitted.

"I don't know, I think I've had more okay things happening to me." Brylee said teasingly, chuckling and rubbing her side when Maya elbowed her. Some of the others chuckle lightly at the action. "I'm kidding, kinda. Go have fun. Not to much fun." She added, her tone still teasing but she smiled softly at Shawn and her mom. They both smiled at her and Maya before they leave the room. Brylee and Maya sat back on the bay window, wrapping their arms around each other and smiled at each other.

They were both equally relieved that the wedding worked out. It was perfect and now their family is whole.
