Ch. 20: Faux Castle
Luz was trying to figure out ways back to the human realm, or at the very least Hell, because it would be likely that her parents are at the castle and possibly losing their minds at the fact that she can't be tracked anymore. She didn't even realize that King was talking to her.
"Luz! Luz! LUZ!" King screamed at her before jumping in her head and screaming in her ear! "LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUZZZZZZZ!"
"Huh? What?" Luz asked.
"Have you not been listening to me this entire time?" King asked her.
"Oh, sorry, King. My mind was somewhere else." Luz said, grabbing King and putting him down. "What were you talking about again?"
King held up a book about demons.
"I was telling you about the known demons of the boiling isles and how ferocious that are! Not in comparison to you, of course but still." King said.
"Oh yeah, go right ahead." Luz said, not giving her full attention to King.
"You're still not listening." King said.
"Sorry, it's just... a lot is on my mind." Luz said, "I'm away from my family, in a realm that's not my own, dealing with feelings for someone I will never be able to be with... and right now... I'd give anything just to see the castle again."
"Oh, what about my castle?" King asked, "Would that make you happy?"
"You have a castle? I thought the tower attached to the house was your castle." Luz said to him.
"No, it's not but I have been planning to claim it. My REAL castle is a whole lot better!" King said.
King grabbed Luz's wrist.
"Come on, let's go!" He said.
King guided Luz to the door before Hooty stretched his head inside.
"Going somewhere?"
"We're going to my castle, so open up, Hooty!" King said.
"Can I come?"
"How? Aren't you attached to the house?" Luz asked.
"I can answer that by showing you!" Hooty said before stretching to a closet. "Give me a second!"
"... Should we be scared?" Luz asked.
"I'm not sure." King said as he watched Hooty pull something out of the closet.
A sort of small house, like a bird house, but with backpack straps. He then began to pull himself from the door.
Removing his surprisingly long, worm like body and jamming it into the smaller house like it was nothing, all while Luz and King watched the entire thing.
"Tada! Portable Hooty! Or Porta-Hooty for short!" Hooty said with a smile.
"... Well, I'm hungry now." Luz said.
"How are you hungry after seeing THAT?" King asked, crying from the horror of what he saw. "It was so terrible."
"King... I'm literally a cannibal." Luz said, "But, I think we'll need a way to this island, as I'm pretty sure Eda wouldn't be happy if we took her staff... lucky, I own a couple souls."
Luz snapped her fingers. A pentagram formed on the floor before Luz, King, and Hooty; forming balls of energy that slowly formed into humanoid shapes. One of them was not happy.
"Will. You. Stop. Doing. THAT!?" Boscha yelled as her and Amelia stood up.
Both of them looked like they were still getting ready for the day, Amelia looking like she was doing her hair and Boscha having a horrible case of "bedhead."
"Sorry, but we needed a ride." Luz said, before leading the two outside.
Luz snapped her fingers and their bodies contorted and their bones broke and reformed until Amelia became a flaming Pegasus and Boscha became the carriage.
"Our chariot awaits, boys." Luz said, opening Boscha's door.
She got inside and grabbed Amelia's reigns.
"This is too weird and sort of painful but also cool!" Amelia shouted, looking over her new flaming Pegasus body.
"Yeah, I'm glad you like it, now we have to get going." Luz said, before looking at Hooty and King, "Get in boys, I promise Boscha is stocked up with some of the best food and drinks there is."
'Wait, what? What are those made of?!' Boscha asked but only Luz and Amelia could hear her.
'Don't worry, it's not like I made them from your organs and bones. I just conjured them up from drinks and snacks I've head in the past. I've got a good memory.' Luz thought to Boscha. Luz snapped Amelia's reigns.
"Ow!" Amelia said, "You could've just told me to go!"
"Then go." Luz said.
Amelia stood on her hind legs and then ran towards the cliff. The Carriage fell a bit before Amelia started to fly just above the water, with Boscha's wheels touching the water. Amelia was having a wonderful time with this.
'Yeah, you can be the carriage on the way back, I can taste that bird thing!' Boscha thought.
'His name is Hooty. Don't worry, he's an acquired taste.' Luz thought.
'You made my tongue the fucking seat!' Boscha thought, 'I may eat dead corpses, but I draw the line at this disgusting thing!'
'Fine, Amelia will be the carriage on the way back, now shush, I have to focus.' Luz thought.
"Mmmm! These are really good!" King said, eating some snacks. "What are these?"
"They're called Hellish Twix. Wafer cookies covered in special hell chocolate, it's sinfully sweeter than normal chocolate." Luz said.
"How so?" Hooty asked, stretching his neck to eat one himself.
"It's crafted from souls."
Hooty and King paused for a moment, looking at Hellish Twix for a moment. It was tempting.
'I can't eat another one after hearing that....can I?' King thought as he tried to put down another Twix.
"...Curse this satanic taste!" Hooty shouted as he ate another one with only slight shame!
"Hey, I just realized, won't Eda notice us gone?" Luz asked.
"Don't worry, I left her a note." King said.
"Well, okay then." Luz said.
"What'd you right?" Hooty asked.
"Something to throw her off our trail. Trust me." King said with a thumbs up.
(Line Break)
It took nearly thirty minutes, but Amelia finally stopped on the Island. Luz got out along with Hooty and King, before snapping her fingers and returning her friends to normal.
"Here we are! The island of my castle!" King said with pride.
"Nice." Luz said.
Behind Luz, Boscha was trying to get the taste of Hooty out of her mouth, going as far as eating a lizard. Amelia looked very pale when there was blood coming out of the other half of it.
"I'm... going to go this way." Amelia said, walking towards Luz.
"Sure..." Boscha said, mainly focused on getting the Hooty taste out of her mouth than how she scared off Amelia.
"So, where do we head next?" Hooty asked, now strapped to Luz's back in his portable house.
"We head through the jungle on foot. It's too dense to fly through." King said, pointing ahead.
"Seeing as none of us can fly, I don't see any other way." Luz said.
"Not unless you change our shapes again." Amelia said, walking up to Luz.
"Amelia, perfect timing. Think you can use your magic to clear this brush a bit?" Luz asked, pointing to the jungle.
"Sure. I mean, I can try but I've never seen plants like these before." Amelia said, gazing at the jungle.
Amelia held her hands out and focused on the plants, slowly clearing some of them.
"Nice work, Mel." Boscha said, licking her lips of any left over lizard blood.
Amelia blushed a bit and looked away.
"Thanks, Boscha." Amelia said.
Luz really hoped they confess soon... because if she has to deal with these two love struck idiots... well, then hell really is eternal punishment.
"Nice! I'd take you as my servant if Luz didn't have you, but we can't change that! So, let's press on, my castle awaits!" King said, running ahead.
"King, let the immortals go ahead, we don't know what might be here." Luz said.
"It's fine, nothing else loves in this island. At least that's what I remember." King said, poking his chin.
"Still, let us go ahead." Luz said, picking up King and putting him on her shoulder.
"Amelia, Boscha, go ahead of us, and I'll make sure King is safe." Luz said.
"And that bird thing?" Amelia asked.
"He can handle himself... trust me." Luz said.
"I'll just got ahead to get away from him." Boscha said, walking ahead.
"If she's being honest about me being the carriage, can I get a warning as to what I'm going to deal with?" Amelia asked.
"Expect the worst." Boscha said.
That made Amelia gulp a bit as Boscha walked ahead of her, glancing back to the bird tube stretching around and examine the jungle. Amelia walked to catch up with Boscha. After several minutes, they arrived at a large, albeit, rundown castle.
"Here we are." King said, "This is where Eda found me and carried me away... like a little baby."
"You mean you aren't a baby?" Boscha asked, actually surprised.
"No! I am ten years old!" King said, putting his hands in his hips. "At least that's how long I've lived with Eda."
"Oh wow, you are REALLY short for a ten year old." Amelia blurted out.
'Hm... I'm very curious about this.' Luz thought, 'He said he was once a king, but... he's a kid... maybe his species ages slow physically but quick mentally?'
"Well, let's get inside and see what there is to see." Luz said.
"Allow me for that!" King said as he jumped towards the boulder covered entrance and squeezed inside. "Just have to loosen some rocks from the inside."
The sound of scurrying and rocks moving was heard by the others.
"... Couldn't we have just punched it?" Amelia asked, "We are strong enough to destroy it."
"Let him have this." Luz said.
'This is his castle after all.' Angel side said with a smile.
After a couple minutes, the rocks were out of the way.
"Behold! My castle!" King shouted, standing beside the large hole he made.
"Ready girls?" Luz asked, walking inside.
"Maybe if I wasn't in my pajamas." Amelia muttered, walking ahead.
Luz held her fingers together, ready to snap.
"I... I, uh, mean, I'm ready for this... your unholiness." Amelia said.
"I'm still hungry, so as long as there's something for me to kill and eat, I'm ready for anything." Boscha said, shrugging.
The group went inside. Finding a rather desolate landscape. There was no furniture, no fancy paintings, and no signs of anything remotely royal-like. There was marking on the wall and plants that have begun to grow through the wall. As well as dozens of strange rock towers on the floor, only reaching the girls' ankles.
"This is your castle?" Boscha asked, looking around. "Man, the ravages of time are a bitch."
"Yeah, something we'll see a lot of." Luz said, "Come on, let's go look around."
Luz snapped her fingers and made several fireballs, letting them light the inside of the castle as the group explored while King gave commentary.
"This place is pretty cool King... though, what are those things?" Luz asked, pointing at one of the weird boomerang head shaped towers that looked like they hadn't moved in years.
"Hmmm, maybe they're offerings from my former servants? Though, I have to wonder now, if there are any servants of mine left." King said as he looked around. "I think I'll call out to them to see."
"What? You can't be serious." Hooty comments to him, stretching out to face King.
"A dedicated servant would wait until death if it meant you came back." Luz said.
"Exactly! Thank you, Luz!" King said to his fellow royal before taking a deep breath! "MY LOYAL SUBJECTS! YOUR KING OF DEMONS HAS RETURNED!"
'Titan, he is loud!' Boscha and Amelia thought, covering their ears!
"SHOW YOURSELVES TO ME AND CELEBRATE MY RETURN!" King shouted as his voice echoed through the castle.
After a few moments, Luz let out a small sigh.
"I guess too much time has passed, oh well, I can get you better ones once I make it home." Luz said.
"Awwwww, but I wanted to show off my servants to you." King said glumly.
"I can think of something else you can show off." Amelia said, pointing to a wall.
They saw a large mural. It depicted two giant beings fighting each other as the landscape was being destroyed around them. One of them was unclear due to years of ruin but the other looked exactly like King or at least one of his species, wielding a giant spear.
"Woah." Boscha said, "That looks awesome!"
"Yeah. And it looks like you're gonna have a giant growth spurt someday." Amelia said.
"Wow! I think...I think that was my dad!" King said, rushing to the wall and gazing at the mural! "Look at him! He wasn't just a king, he was a warrior king!"
"Make sure to remember us when you're a giant." Luz said, "Man, you're going to be very large... hey... does anyone hear that?"
Amelia and Boscha's ears twitched.
"You two stay here, I'll go deal with this." Luz said, before walking off.
She walked around for a bit, seeing multiple different paintings, but not finding whatever made that noise was. She turned a corner and saw what looked like charred bodies, surrounding a strange symbol on the wall.
"This must've been some kind of trap... must've been a powerful witch to make it that dangerous from such a small symbol." Luz said, before realizing something, "... I need to see what this does, I am immortal, so it's not like it will hurt me."
Luz walked up to it and looked for some kind of activation. She put her hand against it and it began to glow bright and there was a massive flash of light. The light was so bright and hot, that it charred her skin like the rest of the bodies. Unlike them though, she started to heal.
"... Okay, I'm writing this down." Luz said, pulling out a pad of paper and pen.
A line stretches from the bottom of the spell circle to about two-thirds up. A perfectly horizontal line connects two sides of the circle, one-third up from the bottom of the circle. The ends of the horizontal line are connected to the top of the vertical line. Two slanted bars cut through the vertical line just above the horizontal line. In the space between the top of the vertical line and the top of the circle, a circle that doesn't reach the top and two tangents from the circle to the top finish the pattern.
"I wonder what to call this." Luz said.
She then heard a noise and a shadow that covered her.
"Right... something is here."
Luz flipped over the creature as it tried to strike at her.
'What the hell is THAT?' Luz thought as she landed, getting a full view of the creature.
It appeared to be some sort of golem made of mud and strangely shaped rocks, especially the boomerang shaped rock it had for a head.
"I gotta warn everyone." Luz said before seeing the golem change its hands, shifting the mud into ax blades.
'I hate that this thing is so cool.' Luz thought.
'Agreed.' Angel and Demon side said to her.
Luz moved away from the blades, trying to avoid becoming mince meat.
"I don't have Grom blade with me but I don't need it!" Luz said as she ducked and slid under the golem's legs to escape!
"HISSSSSSSSSSSSS!" The golem hissed as it gave chase.
Luz ran until she made it to the group, which was thankfully not in danger... yet.
"We have a situation!" Luz yelled.
"A situation?" Amelia asked as everyone turned to her.
"What kind and how dangerous?" Boscha asked.
"A hissing golem just tried to kill me." Luz answered.
"WHAT!?" Amelia and Boscha shouted.
"There shouldn't be anything here that's alive!" Amelia said, "This place is ancient!"
"I know, now grab King and get out of here!" Luz said, "That's an order!"
The two pseudo-immortals grabbed King and started running, while Luz got ready to fight the golem. She saw it coming towards her... before running past her after King.
'It's trying to get King!' Luz thought, 'I have to stop it.'
Before she could do anything, a fireball hit the golem. A RED fireball!
"Guess who, kiddies?!" Eda shouted at them, holding another fireball in her hand.
"Eda!" Luz said.
"Get out of here Kids, I'll handle this." Eda said, looking at the golem, "Hey buddy, remember me?"
"HISSSSSSSS!" It hissed, shifting from blades to flails and swinging them around!
Eda dodged them, incredibly thankful of her new speed and agility. Crushed the fireball in her hand and claiming her hand, Eda punch the golem and sent it flying back!
"Damn... I would've sold my soul years ago if this is what it gives." Eda said.
"Hisssss!" The golem creepily got up and charged at Eda again, jumping into the air.
"You don't learn, do you?" Eda asked as she prepared another punch.
She threw a punch, but it did in fact learn, as it dodged it and stabbed her in the chest... sadly for the golem... she sold her soul. Eda watched as blood dripped to the floor, before chuckling.
"Cute." Eda said.
"?!" The golem was shocked and confused before Eda grabbed its head.
"But you shouldn't get so handsy with a lady unless you buy her dinner first!"
Eda slammed the golem into the ground! She then grabbed it and threw it at the wall. Eda gazed down at the hole in her chest, seeing it slowly close up while her dress was somewhat ruined.
'Hmm, downside is my favorite dress is ruined but the upside is that it has a new chest window.' Eda thought.
"Alright... let's dance." Eda said.
(Line Break)
Outside of the castle, the group was waiting for Eda to come back as King had so many questions.
"What the home is going on?!" Luz yelled, "What was that thing!?"
"That thing... was after King." Eda said, crawling over the rocks.
Behind her, the golem stood up and tried to attack... but a barrier stopped it.
"Huh?" Everyone let out in surprise.
"Don't worry. That thing can't leave the barrier, so we're save." Eda said.
"What the home Eda, what is this place?" Luz asked.
"This is supposed to be my castle." King said. Holding his head.
"Yeah. It had pictures of your dad on the walls and everything." Hooty said, holding his head.
"None of this makes sense." Amelia said, crossing her arms.
"I think I can help some of it make sense but you might not like it." Eda said as everyone turned to her. "It all happened eight years ago, when I first found this island while on the run from the emperor's scouts."
A younger looking Eda ran through the trees as Emperor's Coven ships moved past the island. Right when she thought the coast was clear... it started raining.
"Shit." She said, before making a spell circle and making a magic barrier to protect herself.
Walking further ahead, Eda pushed through the jungle foliage to try to find shelter from the boiling rain. She came upon a tall tower.
"Don't know where you came from but you'll do." Eda said as she walked into the tower.
She looked around for anyone insight but only saw strange looking mini-totems all over the floor.
'What could've made all of these?' Eda thought.
She then heard scurrying. Eda was now on guard, pointing her staff at the darkness of the tower.
'If something else is in here, I might have to fight to stay.' Eda thought before creating a ball of light to see.
From behind the monuments... an adorable little dog looking thing popped out.
"Huh?" Eda let out, looking down at the creature.
"Weh?" The creature let out, cutely tilting his head up to Eda.
The creature then picked up one of the rocks and carried it to an unfinished statue, placing it on top. Eda kneeled down and scratched the creature on the side of it's head.
"Did you make these?" Eda asked, "What... are you? Some kind of dog or something?"
"Weh!" The creature let out again like it was some sort of "bark" or "meow."
"That's all you can say, huh?" Eda asked before petting the creature.
A shadow moved over Eda, making her turn around and see the golem.
"HISSSSSSSSSS!" It hissed loudly.
"Oh fuck!" Eda shouted.
It attacked as Eda quickly moved away with the small creature in hand! She ran towards the entrance to the castle, needing to get out of here, and get the small creature she somewhat saved to safety as well. The golem sent its arm at them and knocked Eda down, while also hitting the creature and breaking its horn. Eda grabbed the horn and the creature and started running out the doorway.
'Almost there!' Eda thought before using a wind spell to give her one last boost of speed! She made it out and kept flying, wanting to get this thing away from the golem. She didn't care about the boiling ran or if the golem could follow, Eda just needed to her the creature she saved home and make sure he was okay.
'I think I made it through the worst.'
(Line Break)
The next day, Eda checked in on the little creature, now sporting a red collar, and saw it was making strange totems in her den. This time from random objects and junk around her house. She saw it fall on the ground as it placed the last bit on the top.
"Ha." She said, finding it really cute, "Look at you, a King among his subjects."
"King?" The creature let out, liking the sound of the word. "King! King!"
"...Holy Titan, you can talk." Eda said in surprise.
"King! King! King!" He kept saying, walking around while loving saying that word.
"... Yeah, a King... You know what else kings do? They command armies and eat delicious feasts." Eda said, before going into everything about rulers.
*Present*
"And that's how you got the idea that you were some despotic overlord." Eda said, "But you were just so happy that I kept playing along."
"N-no... you're Lying!" King said.
"I'm not." Eda said, reaching into her hair and taking out King's broken horn.
"Did you keep that in there for this long?" Luz asked.
"Yes, I did. I thought it would be the only way for King to believe me." Eda said as she handed King his broken horn.
King began to look back on everything... his entire life was a lie. He pushed Eda's hand away.
"No! Keep that away from me!"
"King, it's gonna be okay." Luz said, picking up the dropped horn.
"T-This is some king of joke. Well, it's not funny anymore!" King said, backing away.
"It's not a joke, just calm down and take a breath." Amelia said with her hands up.
King started hyperventilating, and then ran off into the jungle.
"King, wait!" Eda said, trying to go after him.
"Stop."
Amelia, Boscha, and Eda couldn't move.
"I'm going after him." Luz said.
"What? But Luz!" Eda argued, trying to move.
'Fuck! I should've seen this coming!' Eda thought has she just realized the drawback of Luz owning her soul.
"King is in a very emotional state right now. And all of us going after him could just make it worse." Luz said as she walked ahead. "I promise, I won't comeback without him, so just wait for us."
'I should've told him sooner.' Eda thought.
'I hate it when she does this!' Boscha and Amelia thought, feeling like they were petrified.
(Line Break)
Luz used her claws to mark the trees so she could find her way back, and used them so she can clear the brush that was in her way.
"King! King, come back! We can figure this out together!" Luz shouted.
She kept going through until she heard crying. She cut her way until she made it to the shore, where King was sitting on a fallen tree.
'There he is.' Luz thought as she retracted her claws and walked to sit next to him.
Luz looked up at the sky.
"Well, the view from here is nice." Luz said, "We don't really have a night in hell, all the fire in hell just turns blue and it-"
"Who am I?"
Luz looked at King.
"You're King, my best bud, and fellow demon." Luz said.
"And what if I'm not? What if I'm something entirely different? Because apparently, I'm not a king of demons like I thought for most of my life." King said, sniffling as his tears hit the sand. "I'm-I'm nothing."
"You're wrong King, you are something." Luz said, "You're my friend, practically my brother, you're important to me, to Eda, home... you're even important to Hooty."
"But they lied to me and just played along with this stupid fantasy in my head." King said, crying some more.
"But what if it's NOT entirely fake? Those hieroglyphs in the walls are proof there are others like you." Luz said, putting a hand on his back.
"King, I will find out what you are, where you came from, and no matter what, I will always be your friend." Luz said.
"...Even in death?" King asked.
"King, I'm already dead. So YES, even in death. Demons Rule, remember?" Luz said, holding her fist out.
King sniffled before wiping his nose, smiling a small bit as he fist bumped Luz's fist.
"Demons rule." He said.
"Come on... let's go back."
"Carry me?" King asked.
"Sure, little buddy." Luz said, standing up and carrying King in her arms.
(Line Break)
It didn't take long for them to arrive back at Eda, and saw that she, along with Boscha and Amelia, were still frozen like statues.
"Unfreeze us already!" Boscha shouted, having an itch in her nose that she NEEDED to scratch.
Luz snapped her fingers. The three of them could move again, popping their stiff joints while also scratching an itches they got!
"Oh thank Titan!" Boscha said as she practically clawed her nose.
"Please don't do that again." Amelia said as she shook a cramp out of her left leg.
"Sorry, but I was the best one to go find King." Luz said.
"And...is he okay?" Eda asked, worried about him.
"He's fine but I think he needs some closure to truly be alright." Luz said, setting King on the ground.
'Talk to him.' Luz thought, telling Eda telepathically.
'Gah! What the hell, Luz?!' Eda thought in surprise.
'Just talk to him! I'll explain what else I can do now that I have your soul later! Now talk to your son!' Luz mentally screamed at Eda.
Eda sighed and knelt down by King.
"King, I'm... I'm sorry I lied to you for so long." She said, "I just didn't want to ruin your happiness. I didn't know how to tell you that I have no idea what you are or where you actually came from."
"I know but you still could've been more honest with me. Especially after all the things I said and did." King said, blushing as he remembered some moment where he made a fool of himself because of his "status."
"I get that and I promise, on bile sack attached to my heart, I will be completely honest with you from now on. No more secrets." Eda said.
"Now, I think we should go home." Eda said.
"No..." King said, "I... I need to go in there and find out more about myself."
"Does that mean you're going back in there with that fucking golem?" Boscha asked him.
"Yes. I am." King said firmly.
"Then I guess that means we're going back in there." Luz said.
"Great. so does anyone have a plan or are we just going to wing it against that Golem?" Amelia asked.
"I mean... winging it is kind of what we do." Luz said.
"Yeah but even I like a good game plan outside of Grudgby every now and then." Boscha said.
"Um, if everyone is okay with it, I've got a plan." Hooty said, making himself known as everyone turned to him.
'I forgot I was carrying him.' Amelia thought.
"I'm afraid to say this... but what is it, Hooty?"
"Misdirection! I noticed a giant hole in the ceiling was plunge up with a punch of rocks, maybe that leads to the higher floors of the castle that could have more answers! So, while the rest of us fight and distract that Golem; you, Eda, and King bust through the rocks and fly up for answers! Hoot boom! Flawless plan!" Hooty said with a smile.
"..." Nobody could say anything as they stared at Hooty for coming up with what really was a FLAWLESS plan.
'Unholy fuck... did... did he just do something smart?!' Luz thought.
'I-I think he did.' Angel Luz said slowly.
'Are we having a reverse stroke? I-I think I smell toast!' Demon side said.
Luz just shook her head.
"Okay, that's... smart." Luz said.
"Scary smart." Amelia said.
"I guess under that goofy, HORRIBLY tasting body; you got a big brain." Boscha said to him.
"Thank you but I am an acquired taste!" Hooty said.
'I fucking doubt that.' Boscha thought.
"Alright, we know the game plan, so let's put it into action." Eda said before looking at King. "Are you ready for this?"
"No...but let's do it anyway." King said as he nodded.
"Alright, girls, let's go distract this thing." Luz said the two members of her cult.
"Yeah, yeah, let's do this." Boscha said, cracking her knuckles.
The three of them crawled back into the castle. Sticking to the shadows and observing for any signs of the golem, which they instantly found making or fixing a small totem.
'I just realized that all of these totems look exactly like the golem. Girls, knock over the totems.' Luz thought, 'it seems to be focused on fixing the ones that get knocked down.'
'So, it kind of sees them like it's family?' Amelia thought.
'Guess we found his weakness. And we've got PLENTY of them to take advantage of.' Boscha thought with a grin.
'Whoever knocks over the most gets their own royal title.' Luz thought, giving them some incentive.
'Lady Amelia does have a nice ring to it.'
'Not if Countess Boscha has anything to say about it!'
Boscha and Amelia dropped down, landing on both sides of the golem as it hissed at them!
"Hey, ugly! Miss us?" Boscha asked, stomping a totem into dust.
The golem lunged at her in anger. Boscha grinned as she pulled her fist back and punched the golem in the head as it stumbled back. Right as vines has sprouted up, tying it down.
"Gotcha!" Amelia said.
"Okay, Eda, we've got it dealt with, you have an opening!" Luz said.
Eda flew in her staff with King, rushing to the hole in the ceiling with Hooty.
"I still say I could've helped them." Hooty said.
"We need you incase that thing gets close to King." Eda said.
"The old me would hate that but I'm not gonna complain." King said as he glanced back at the fight.
The golem broke free. It rushed at Amelia, slashing stone axes as the plant witch dodged them!
'Think of it like grudgby! Think of it like grudgby!' She thought, ducking another swing!
Boscha ran up and threw a punch at the golem.
'Get the fuck away from her!' Boscha thought.
The golem crashed into a wall, making stones fall as it bounced back and rushed at them again. It felt no pain, so it could fight for as long as it needed. Luckily, Amelia and Boscha could bounce back from any attack it tried.
'Are you just going to watch or join in the fight?' Angel side asked.
'Yeah! Let's fuck this piece of shit up!' Demon side shouted.
Luz smirked as she held up her hands.
'Let's light it up.' She thought, as her hands caught fire.
Luz jumped down and tackled the golem, burning its muddy limbs as she threw it into the air!
"Amelia, pull it down!" Luz yelled.
Amelia nodded as she stomped the floor, making large vines shoot up and grab the golem! She grabbed them and pulled them back with all her strength, making the golem crash into the ground with enough impact to make a small crater.
"Hopefully that broke it to pieces!" Boscha said, covering her eyes from the dirty cloud.
The trio approach the crater and gazed into it, seeing the dirt settle and reveal the golem did break into pieces!
"FUCK YES!" Luz shouted.
It began to repair itself.
"FUCK NO!"
Boscha acted quickly and made a giant fireball, slamming it into the crater and the golem! Still didn't stop it.
"Melt into sludge, you ugly skinny motherfucker!" Boscha shouted as her eyes glowed with the same light as the fire. "Hahahahahahaha! Taste my flames!"
'....Well, someone's a surprise pyromaniac.' Luz thought with wide eyes.
'That's hot, literally! Ahahahahaha!' Demon side joked.
When Boscha stopped, she smiled widely... until the golem rose.
"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!" Boscha screamed in outrage.
"This thing is unstoppable!" Amelia said.
"Nothing is unstoppable!" Luz shouted as she brought out her claws.
She lunged at it, before it grabbed her and slammed her into the ground.
"Hey! Hands off, creep!" Amelia shouted as she jumped in, "choking" the golem from behind.
It reached behind and then grabbed Amelia, throwing her to the ground.
"HEY! Nobody slams Amelia into the ground but me!" Boscha shouted, using transformation magic to turn her arm extremely muscular!
'...Wait, what?' Amelia thought, blushing.
'What do you two do when I'm not around?' Luz thought.
'We don't do anything, we've barely been around each other.' Amelia thought, 'That's... pretty hot though.'
'Fucking confess you dumb cunts... I am not dealing with this for all eternity!' Luz thought.
Amelia and Luz kept mentally arguing as Boscha pulled the golem off of them and threw it to the other side of the room!
"Get ready, freak! I'm about to go Slitherbeast on your ass!" Boscha shouted.
"Geez, teenagers are intense these days." Hooty comments as he watched.
"Yep. Those were the days." Eda said, stuffing a potion bomb between the rocks in the ceiling, "That should do it. Now to get out of the blast zone."
Eda flew them back to the ground and against the back all, standing on the ground as she handed her staff to King.
"Hold this for me." She said as King held it, allowing her to make a ball of fire in her hand.
But instead of simply throwing it, Eda reached into the flames with her other hand and pulled back to make its shape like an arrow.
'I really love this demon magic.'
Eda aimed her flame arrow at the bottle, closing one eye to make sure she hits it dead on.
"Here comes mama." Eda said before letting her arrow fly!
The arrow hit and the potions began to explode.
'Okay, time to move!' Luz thought.
Luz got up and forced Amelia to her feet, dragging her to the fight Boscha was having with the golem.
'Boscha kick it towards the potion and follow us!' Luz thought.
'But- Oh whatever!' Boscha thought as she changed her leg and kicking the golem to the explosion.
She then ran towards Amelia and Luz as they ran after King, Eda, and Hooty.
"Climb ladies! Climb!" Luz ordered them as they all grew claws and climbed up the walls and into the hole in the ceiling.
Luz made a pentagram and threw it over the hole, creating a barricade.
"That won't hold for long." Luz said, "We need to hurry."
"Don't need to tell me twice!" Amelia said, climbing ahead of Boscha. "Let's hurry and see what's up top."
They arrived at the top and found a large set of doors. Luz whistled and Amelia and Boscha opened them. They headed inside and Boscha and Amelia closed the doors, before Amelia applied some construction glyphs to her arms and putting her hands against the doors.
"Okay, I have the door blocked, do whatever it is you're going to do!" Amelia said.
Luz nodded as she, Boscha, Eda, King, and Hooty explored the new room. Seeing even more hieroglyphs on the walls, overgrown vines around the room, and a large medallion on the floor with a strange symbol on it covered in giant eggshell pieces.
"King, is this where you were born?" Hooty asked, stretching over and examining the eggshell.
"I...I think so?" King said, slowly walking to the symbol.
"Wow, this place looks awesome!" Luz said, "King?"
King was looking at the ground.
"Eda... give me my horn."
"Are you sure?" Eda asked, worried.
"Yes, I'm sure. I'm done running away." King said with a firm nod holding his hand out.
Eda handed it to King and he placed it on the part it broke off from. He suddenly felt memories returning.
"I... remember a deep roar, but I was too small to do anything." King said as he heard what sounded like explosions, "So I went back to sleep."
The next thing King remembered was hatching, and looking around, seeing a strange symbol on the top of the castle, before crawling towards the door. The door opens and the golem was standing there, it looked at King before grabbing him and taking him to the lower levels, with the last thing King saw being the symbol. King took his horn off and didn't say anything for a few seconds.
"King?" Luz asked.
"That roar, it meant son... I don't know how I know that, but I do." King said, "I think... that was my dad."
"So that WAS your dad on the wall downstairs!" Boscha said.
"It has to be." Luz said, "Who else would have possibly had this amazing little guy."
"But that still doesn't answer where he is and why he left you here with that golem!" Eda said, crossing her arms before hearing a banging sound corm from the door. "Which has caught up!"
"And is very angry!" Amelia shouted, pushing in the door harder to keep the golem out.
"The golem...I think dad left me with it...because he made it to protect me." King said as he turned to the door.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, for the first time in a while, I am sure." King said, walking to the door.
"King, what are you doing?" Eda asked.
"Ending this." King said, standing next to Amelia and touching the door, "Open it."
"What? Hell-" Amelia stopped talking as she saw a strange magic wash over the door. "What the-"
Before she could finish, Amelia was push back as the door opened itself and the golem was preparing to attack.
"Stop, now." King ordered it.
The golem stopped. Bowing before King as if his name sake was law, surprising everyone.
"Wait, so this thing wasn't trying to hurt us, it was trying to protect King?" Eda asked in realization. "Damn, ain't that a kick in the ass?"
"So you mean to tell me this creep that almost kicked our asses is just a glorified babysitter?" Boscha asked, feeling offended by this truth.
"Yep." Luz said, "Guess we're done here."
"Can we take him with us?" King asked, pointing at the golem.
"And how do you expect us to get him home?" Eda asked.
(Line break)
'Me and my big mouth.' Eda thought.
Instead of Amelia being the carriage... Eda was, Luz said it was a punishment for lying for so long. Luz was once again holding the reins to Amelia and Boscha as the two flaming Pegasus ran across the water.
"How's our guest of honor doing, King?" Luz asked.
"It's a shame he doesn't work outside the castle." King said, carving the symbol on his collar.
"Don't worry, I'm sure we'll find a way to change that, and make it so he can move!" Luz said.
"Is there a way to make Jean Luc talk too?" King asked.
"Jean Luc the golem?" Luz asked.
'First the rabbit toy named François, and now Jean Luc? How does King know these French names?' Luz thought, '... Maybe he found a book like Amelia.'
"Yes and the reason I want him to talk is because he might have known my dad before he left. Maybe he can tell me where he went and maybe what I am." King said as he looked back at Jean Luc, who Hooty was keeping an eye on.
"I'm watching you, Hoot." Hooty said.
"We'll try that another day, I think we've had enough excitement for today." Luz said.
'Us too.' Boscha thought but neighed happily to not being the one that was the carriage this time.
'Titan, we can't get home fast enough!' Eda thought as she had to taste Hooty AND Jean Luc at the same time.
And they tasted BEYOND horrible.
"Sadly this is as fast as Pegasus go." Luz said.
... That was a lie, but you know... Eda needed to get a little bit of a punishment.
'Well, this has been a fun day.' Luz thought as they rode all the way home.
