The next morning, Luz woke up in bed and sat up. She let out a loud yawn as she stretched a bit, still feeling a bit tired from last night.

Both physically and emotionally.

She wasn't entirely sure what was going to happen today, but she doesn't have anyway home for now, so that might be a good place to start looking.

'I wonder if Eda is up by now?' Luz thought as she climbed out of bed, being careful not to wake up King.

Luz went down the stairs and saw Eda standing in the kitchen, tossing a fireball back and forth in her hands. Eda saw Luz and smiled.

"Hey, Kid, I got some of that fire you play with!" Eda said.

"That... shouldn't be possible... going to need to look into that later." Luz said.

"Red fire is pretty cool looking... anyway, we have to figure out somethings, for one, without the portal, I have lost a good third of my income. The potion business will be enough for now, but that doesn't bring in as much as the stand does."

"How much did the stand bring it?" Luz asked.

"After you explained what items actually are and did, it went up 3 fold but now, that's going to dry up." Eda said before spinning the fireball on her finger. "Any ideas, kid?"

"Hmmm." Luz hummed as she glanced around, seeing the large framed wanted poster of Eda on the wall and pointed to it. "How about we become bounty hunters? If Belos was willing to pay that much for you, it makes you wonder how much he pays for others."

"Well, that could work."

"Great! Then let's head into town and see who we can fuck up." Luz said with a smile.

"Upupupup!" Eda said, "Sit your ass down, you're eating first."

Eda tossed the fireball to the stove, igniting it in a good way as she went towards it to start cooking.

"I'm going to enjoy that." Eda said.

Eda began cooking breakfast as Luz walked back to her room, planning on waking King up to join them AND grabbing her Grom weapon for their future bounty hunt... being the only weapon she has left since it wasn't in the book when it was destroyed. She looked at it.

"I wonder if it's still alive." She said.

Luz used her magic to sense the soul inside of the sword, seeing if Grom was still alive even as a sword. To her surprise, it was... and it wasn't the soul of a monster but something different. Something Luz could've sworn she had felt before. She decided to ignore it for now and put the sword in her belt loop.

"Come on, Grommy. Let's go to work." Luz said before she shook King awake.

"Eh? Wha?" King muttered.

"Wake up, King, we've got a big day planned."

"A big day?" King asked.

"Yep, Bounty Hunting, and a big day requires a big meal. Let's go eat." Luz said, carrying him downstairs, "Oh, I am excited!"

"About hunting witches?" King asked.

"Not that way I'd put it, but yes. I may be half demon and destine to bring the apocalypse on Earth but I at least have some sense of justice from my good side." Luz said to him, walking down the steps.

'Thank you.' Angel side said as she smiled.

The two made it to the kitchen.

"Hope you two are hungry, I'm cooking up some scrambled eggs, eyeballs, sausage links, and pancakes!" Eda said with a grin.

Luz's stomach growled.

"Guess I'm hungry."

"After all the organs you ate the other day? That's surprising." King said.

"Organs? You mean when Luz came to rescue me?" Eda asked, turning to them.

"Kind of yeah. It was almost a blur really, I was in animal mode." Luz admitted, setting King in a high chair.

"Animal? You went beyond that! You were a true beast!"

"Which is also an animal." Luz said.

"Regardless! You were a force of nature, breaking bones and drinking the blood of your enemies around every corner!" King said, somewhat in awe.

"Okay, calm down... I didn't want to do that, but I didn't have a choice." Luz said.

'A part of us wanted to do that. We were angry, sad, bad hungry at the same time. Besides, all of those scout fuckers were sinners.' Devil side said to her, "Anyway." Luz said, "Eda, you know more about the criminals on the Isles than anyone. Who is best criminal to go after?"

"Besides me?" Eda asked with a grin.

"Well, you give a lot of money, but I didn't break into a prison and kill hundreds of people just to turn you in." Luz said, "Totally could if I wanted to though, you're pretty weak."

".....Now that's just hurtful, kid. It really is." Eda said as she stopped cooking, bringing the food to the table.

"I know and I apologize but there have to be more dangerous criminals out there worth a lot of money."

"Well, I can think of a couple."

"Then that's who we're gonna catch today!" Luz said as Eda passed out the food, "Alright we need names!"

"Kid, calm the hell down." Eda said, "You're literally immortal, you have all the time in the world to do this, I don't think eating breakfast for 20 minutes will cause any problems."

".....Okay, that's true. But still, I still have a bit of blood lust from last night and I need to get it out." Luz said.

"I'm well aware, and I don't need you killing one of the targets, some of them you get more if you bring them in alive." Eda said.

"Shoot. Then maybe I'll do the more "wanted dead" bounties solo." Luz muttered as she began eating.

"Yeah, have fun with that." Eda said.

'I wonder how that will go if she just has her Grom weapon. She's basically without magic like me.' Eda thought.

Though... Luz still has enough spells she's mastered, meaning she doesn't need her book to use those. Those pentagrams of hers for example, they are very dangerous, and they had a lot more uses than demonic summoning rituals. Oh, so much more.

"Alright, let's dig in already!" King said as he began eating like an animal.

Eda rolled her eyes.

"Ugh, what am I going to do with you?" Eda asked King.

"I hear adoption is easy to process here." Luz said.

Eda just paled at that.

"I am... NOT... a mother."

"What? Of course you are. You raised King, didn't you?" Luz asked, gesturing to King.

"Well, yes, but more like a pet! Not like a son!" Eda said, waving her hand.

"I am the King of Demons and I will be respected as such!" King yelled.

"Oh, someone's mad." Luz said, finding it kind of adorable.

"Watch out for his squeak of rage." Eda said with a grin.

"I will bite you too! I swear!" King shouted.

Luz laughed, it reminded her a lot of her family dinners. King was like a little brother she never had but always wanted, so energetic and wild. Her parents didn't give her a sibling... though she is beginning to understand why... and was so happy to finally have one. Eda on the other hand, she was her bird parent. A third parent that welcomed Luz into her nest and treated her like her own chick.

After breakfast, the trio headed out.

"Aright, hop on and we'll head to the bounties stand in the bizarre." Eda said as Owlbert flew into her hand, becoming a staff.

King and Luz got on and Luz smiled, she was excited.

'This is gonna be fun! I always thought bounty hunting looked awesome in anime and in history books, now I can see it for myself!' Luz thought.

When they landed, Eda went over to the wanted lists.

"Alright, let's see who's wanted today?" Eda asked aloud.

Eda looked and found a fairly easy one to start with.

And it was worth about 2000 snails, easy money.

"Alright, we're doing this one." Eda said, grabbing the flyer.

"Alright." Luz said.

Eda brought the flyer to the demon running the bounty stand, who looked like a big wiener dog, and showed him the poster.

"Alright then. His last known location was in the forest, where abandoned palismen live." The demon said.

"Easy!" Luz said.

"Anything we should know about him? Like what magic he uses or if he uses a weapon." Eda said to the demon.

"He's a former member of the construction coven, so beware of that and he likes using a sledgehammer." The wiener dog demon said.

"That should be easy."

"Hehehehehe, that's what they all say." The wiener dog demon said, rolling his four eyes.

"Yeah well, he hasn't gone against the daughter of the devil." Luz said, "Come on, Eda, let's go."

"Okay but don't think that you're the leader now." Eda said as they left.

"Well, she does own your soul." King comments.

"Shut up." Eda said.

"Too soon, King." Luz said as she still hated what she did to save Eda.

"Here it is. The forest if the palisman, and maybe Bat Queen's kingdom as well." Eda said as they landed in front of the forest.

"Come on, let's get this pay day."

The trio made their way through the forest, with King and Luz acting as blood hounds to sniff for any witch or demon in the forest.

'Alright, now where is he?' Eda thought, looking around for signs of disturbance.

Eda noticed something, it was a footprint... but way too big to be the person they're after.

"Kids, look at this." Eda said, calling them over.

Luz and King went over and saw it.

"You think someone else is after the bounty?" King asked.

"No." Luz said, sniffing the footprint, "It's a Coven member... but... different."

"Different how?" Eda asked.

"They have something on them. Something they don't normal have, at least compared to the ones I killed before." Luz said, taking multiple sniffs of the footprint.

"You know." A voice said behind them, "It's rude to talk about someone behind their back."

Luz turned and saw someone in a white cloak and gold mask. Eda and King jumped back as Luz stood calmly, seemingly unafraid of him.

"So you're the coven which I smelled? You new?" Luz asked him.

"New? Not exactly. More like a hidden ace." He said before introducing himself. "You can call me the Golden Guard, Belos's right hand witch."

"Right hand witch? I thought that was my sister." Eda said, holding her staff tightly.

"No, she's the leader of the Coven, but I am his most trusted guard." He said, "And it's my job to make sure you three don't ruin the peace of the Isles."

"Don't fuck with us and we won't." Luz said, growling at him.

"Whoa, hostility. You really are a demon unlike any other." Golden Guard said, raising his hands.

"I'm just trying to get back to my home world, I do not want a fight, but I will beat your ass if I have to." Luz said.

"That does double for us!" King shouted, ready to fight.

"Cute, but don't make threats you can't back up. Anyway, you're lucky I'm here for someone else, so we don't have fight yet." Golden Guard said to them.

"Who could you possibly be after?"

"That's classified information, so I'm not telling you. Just don't get in my way." Golden Guard said as he walked past Luz, bumping her with his shoulder.

Luz growled at the golden guard as he walked past. Eda just pulled Luz away.

"Don't bother with it, Luz, their not worth it." Eda said.

Luz didn't like it though.

"You guys go ahead, I don't trust this guy." Luz said.

"You sure?" King asked.

"Yeah, someone's gotta make sure he doesn't try anything when our backs are turned." Luz said, putting a hand on her Grom sword, "Don't worry... I'll be safe."

Before either of them could reply, Luz went off to follow the Golden Guard.

Luz slowly followed him, using her claws to scale up trees and remain out of sight.

'Let's see who you're hunting, Golden Turd.' Luz thought.

Luz saw him pull out a map and a picture.

'Is that... some kind of animal?' Luz thought seeing the picture of a large whale/seal... type creature.

"Alright, the Selkidomus's watering spot should be close by." The Golden Guard mumbled, tracing a bath in the map.

'He's hunting an animal?'

If there was one thing Luz hated, it was hunting an animal that didn't deserve it/killing for sport. Whatever this Selkidomus is, Luz was going to make sure Golden Guard couldn't hurt it.

"Alright, time to get going." Golden Guard said, walking down a new path.

'Ditto.' Luz thought as she jumped from tree to tree to follow.

Luz made sure to keep him in sight. Even when he pulled out a staff, a strange looking one, and flew on it.

'... I really wish my wings would come in soon.' Luz thought, hating that she has to gain her demon form before she can use her wings.

Luz just had to settle for swinging from tree to tree like a monkey, still doing her best to stay quiet. She jumped from each branch, like she was born in the trees, moving with grace you'd expect from an angel, not a demon.

'Thank you.' Angel side said with pride.

'Shut up. She focusing!' Demon side said as Luz jumped and dragged a vine.

She pulled out the grom blade and made it into a knife, stabbing a tree trunk as she landed on the branch, steadying herself. Golden Guard arrived at the edge of the forest, near a small beach with a cave nearby.

"Alright, here's the watering hole. Now where is that beast?" Golden Guard said to himself, looking around.

Luz growled.

'You want a beast... I'll show you a beast.'

Luz pulled Grom out of the tree, pulling it out from the tree and transforming it back into a sword.

"Hmm, maybe it's inside of the cave." Golden Guard said as he walked towards the cave.

But he didn't get far as Luz jumped into the air and threw Grom sword in front of him!

"WHOA!" He stepped back in surprise as Luz landed in front of her sword.

"I'm sorry... but I'm not letting you kill an innocent animal." Luz said.

"You?! What are you doing here?!" Golden Guard asked in surprise.

Luz didn't answer as she grabbed her sword and pulled it out of the ground, pointing it at his throat.

"Turn back. NOW." She ordered him.

"You don't order me around." Golden Guard said.

"Do I look like I care?" Luz asked, moving the blade closer as Golden Guard takes a step back. "Be lucky I'm being merciful and giving you a chance instead of just killing you from behind."

'She was following me this entire time.' He thought as he scolded himself for not paying attention more.

Luz looked at his soul, seeing lots of sins and deaths caused by him... but something else... something she didn't know what it was.

Like....a soul but not a soul at the same time, at least not a natural.

'First Grom, now him?' Luz thought, confused.

"What the hell are you?" Luz muttered.

"I'm the one that's going to end you." He said.

Using his staff, Golden Guard teleported behind Luz and prepared to hit her before she blocked it with her sword!

"I've heard that a lot, and everyone that's tried is dead." Luz said.

Luz pushed him back and slashed but he teleported again to dodge!

'Oh don't tell me this guy is going to spam teleport!' Devil side said with a groan.

'It's a stupid move in games, and it's even more annoying in real life!' Luz thought.

Luz continued to block and slashed as the Golden Guard kept spamming teleport, appearing all around Luz. Luz summoned several pentagrams and threw them on the ground.

'What are those?' Golden Guard thought, glancing around at the pentagrams around him.

'Good luck teleporting in a mine field.' Luz thought.

Luz blocked another attack before jumping back!

"You can't escape!" G. Guard shouted as he teleported behind Luz.

"Don't need to." Luz said as she looked down, seeing him step right on a pentagram.

"Boom."

It blew up and he was sent backwards from the explosion.

"GUH!" He screamed as he hit a tree.

"Gotcha!" Luz shouted as she jumped at him and kicked him through the tree!

She then caught the broken tree and threw it at him.

"Timber!" Luz shouted with a grin.

The Golden Guard groaned but quickly teleported into the air to dodge the tree. Luz jumped up and tackled him mid-air.

"Let's see you teleport with a passenger!" She shouted as they spun in the air!

"Get! Off! Me!" Golden Guard shouted, trying to push Luz off him!

"I hate people that kill animals for no reason." Luz said, "But I think you're just rabid enough for me to put down!"

She slammed him into the ground.

Golden Guard groaned as Luz grabbed his mask, holding him slightly off the ground.

"Guess what's under your head." Luz said with a smirk, looking at the pentagram RIGHT below his head.

"Ugh! Why are you getting in my way?! This has nothing to do with you!" Golden Guard shouted.

"Because I can't stand your damn emperor." Luz said, "Not after everything he's done to the people I care about."

"You mean the wanted criminal and her mangy pet?" Golden Guard comments.

"She's only wanted because she doesn't follow this crooked system!" Luz said, "And I know crooked, I've spoken with some of the worst humans that have used similar systems in the past!"

"Huh? How do you-"

"Doesn't matter! What matters is that you are going to leave right now or I am going to kill you!" Luz warned him.

He held out something that Luz didn't want to see, and felt her skin start burning.

"AHHH!"

Luz fell to the ground, and her pentagrams disappeared. The Golden Guard stood up and held the cross at her, burning her in its Holy Light.

"Unlike Emperor Belos, I have no issue with reducing you to dust." Hunter said.

'So that fucker has more holy weapons and he gave them out to his followers. Shit.' Luz thought, holding her burning side.

Suddenly, there was a loud roar... the Selkidomus was here and it didn't like having people near it's home.

"There it is." Golden Guard said, turning to the noise.

Luz looked and saw it... with a baby close behind it.

'Dear Goodness, she's a mommy!' Angel side thought from cuteness and worry. 'He's going to kill a baby!'

'No, he's not.' Luz thought.

Thankfully, he had dropped the cross once the selkidomus arrived.

"Alright, time to-" Golden Guard's staff was kick out of his hands! "NO!"

Luz then grabbed him by the throat and threw him into another tree, crashing through it and slamming into another!

"This. Ends. NOW." Luz said as she caught his staff without looking.

Luz slammed the red orb onto the ground, breaking it.

"NO!" He shouted at this.

"Good luck trying to kill this without your little weapon." Luz said, "Run. I promise there won't be a second warning."

The Golden Guard looked around for the cross her dropped and saw it was right in front of Luz.

'I might not be able to kill the Selkidomus but I can still kill her!' He thought before diving towards it!

He went for it, but his hand was grabbed by Eda.

"Oh I don't think so, little guard." Eda said, pulling him up from the ground.

"You?!/Eda?!" Golden Guard and Luz said in surprise.

"I recommend you leave, or else I will have to beat the ever-living shit out of you." Eda said.

Golden Guard glanced at his cross before King came over and broke it apart with several stomps.

"Take that, you piece of garbage!" King said.

The golden guard growled.

"Why do you people even care?! It's just a stupid animal!" He shouted at them.

"A stupid animal that did NOTHING to you. The Selkidomus is a peaceful animal and it only strikes back when someone aggravates it!" Eda said, glaring at the Golden Guard. "Why does Belos want it dead anyway?"

"Because the titan demands it." He said.

"Bullshit! Why would your God create a creature just for you to kill it for no reason?" Luz asked.

'Um, I hate to butt in but-' Angel side was cut off.

'Then shut up!' Devil side shouted at her.

"The Titan's will is nothing you'd understand!" He said, "Only Belos is allowed to listen to him!"

"Uh huh, sure." Eda said, rolling her eyes and not believing it.

"I can tell bullshit and that is bullshit. I would've sensed if that asshole could speak to a ghost." Luz said.

"Bite your tongue!" He said.

"Kiss my ass, Golden Shit!" Luz said as she flipped him off, "Now piss off before I get mad."

"Agreed." Eda said, grabbing Golden Guard's arms and beginning to spin him around, "Get out!"

With all the strength she could muster, Eda threw Golden Guard into the air!

"AAAAAAAAH!" He screamed, disappearing over the tree line and into the forest.

"What a fucking twat." Eda said.

"Totally!" Luz said, sheathing her Grom sword in her belt. "Only an asshole would want to kill an innocent create and its baby."

"Speaking of."

Luz went over to the beast and held a hand out.

"You need to leave, it's not safe here."

The mother selkidomus growled down at Luz, before sniffing her hand. Whatever it smelt on Luz's hand calmed her down. She nuzzled against Luz's hand, and then started to make a regurgitating sound, before vomiting some kind of golden sludge up.

"...Eda, is golden vomit a good thing here?" Luz asked, stared at the sludge as the baby Selkidomus came over to muzzle against her.

"Hot dang! It gave you the treasure of the sea!" Eda said, "It's selkigris. Ah, people pay big money for it at the Night Market."

"Really? We have something on earth similar called "Ambergris "from whales. It's used in perfumes." Luz said, patting the baby selki.

"This stuff can be used for a lot more than that! Potions, lotions, weight loss, weapons; you name it!" Eda said, reaching into the selkigris. "Let me show you."

Though she paused for a moment and pulled out a demon skull from the sludge, making the trio gaze at it.

"...Keep it away from me." King said, moving away from the Selkidmos and baby.

"Okay, we can do this later, Eda." Luz said, "We should get back home."

The Selkidomus and it's baby went into the water and swam away.

"Well... this day has certainly taken a turn." Luz said, "So how're we getting this magic vomit home?"

"I don't know...maybe change your little Grom sword into a vacuum with lots of storage?" Eda asked, pointing to the weapon.

"That just sounds stupid. There's no way it'd work." King said.

"Uh, Gromy?" Luz asked, holding her sword up, "Think you can help?"

To her surprise, it worked. The loving weapon had transformed into a handheld vacuum with a very strong looking bag on the end.

"... I love this thing." Luz said.

'So do I!' Eda thought, imagining all the things she could do if she had Grom as her weapon/tool. 'Don't you ever take that thing for granted, Luz.'

Pushing the on button, Luz sucked up all of the selkigris as the bag slowly expanded next to her. But it did not break, not in the slightest.

"Alright, let's get home and store this stuff." Luz said, "Preferably before another coven member comes by... I really don't want to have to kill something, I had a big breakfast and won't be able to handle another meal that big."

"Can you kill someone without eating them after?" King asked her.

"I can but it's been a while since I ate someone." Luz said, "Besides, it would be rude to kill and not use the corpse. I hate killing for sport."

"Okay, enough you two, let's get." Eda said as she summoned her staff.

The trio flew off, while the Golden Guard watched it.

'This isn't over... not by a long shot.'
