Chapter 3
Anyone would think that I am a boy, a pirate and a disregarding street rat. I have nothing to worry about. He could never recognize me.
That is the chant I spew as my feet carry me to the cell. If he recognizes me, the Captain would never allow me to continue along his ship, a women and a gypsy does not belong on a pirate ship. I belong to the king.
The prince has a bloody lip and his brown hair curled in long dripping locks around his face, he is beautifully royal. Stupid, it is not the time to be thinking of such things, the way his lips curve, the muscles straining to hide beneath his shirt, and his eyes~ OH ~smoldering and staring at me!
"Who are you?!" His voice quivers though he holds a commanding tone as he stares down at me.
I blush madly and I can already feel red blotches travel down my neck making my whole face red as an apple. Anger and embarrassment flush my face. How dare he not remember me. I know I was just a girl but....I shake my thoughts away. I am not the same girl, I am a pirate and I am in disguise.
I slam the chair by the cell into a wall and sit on the table grabbing the keys spinning them around my finger.
"Who am I?" I mock while looking at the helpless prince. "I am your key out, and you better remember that"
Sounds of shouts and screams echo through the wooden beams above as the fight goes on, my fingers twitch and beg to grab my own sword, but the door to the prison booms as men slam into it and I am forced to remember my duty. Men's voices scream to recover the prince.
I walk over to the prince and stare down at the boy who rescued me so many years ago. I'm a pirate. I don't do good deeds and I am supposed to be guarding the prisoner. I know this so when I walk to the cell and grab the bars I do the only thing I can do.
I unlock the cell.
