Chapter 9. Remember

Tyler's POV***

"Who's Tyler?" Raven asked, looking more sincere.

"Ez!!" I called out loud to the pack doctor. Immediately she came running in.

"What's wrong Alpha?" She asked  worriedly.

"Why can't she remember me!?" I screamed, nearly about to turn. I could feel fur sprouting from my face.

"Alpha please, calm down. I'll work with her." She said. I took a deep breath and glanced at my mate who seemed really lost.

"Is something the matter?" She asked us. Ez and I stopped talking and turend towards Raven.

"Raven, I'm a pack doctor. My name is Ez. Do you know where you are?" She asked as she neared her and sat down on a chair. Raven sat up, her pretty brown hair falling behind her.

"I was in Chicago a few days ago." She said. She had come all the way from Chigaco down to Oregon??

"Ok, do you know what pack you are in?" She asked. Raven raked her brain a little.

"I thought I was in Blue Sky pack. Ez, what's going on and why am I here? Who's that guy?" She asked whilst pointing to me.

Have you ever felt your heart get crushed a million times, over, and over again? Now I know the sensation. How could she have forgotten all about running into my pack, being my mate and getting kidnapped by my old Beta, Jarod?

"Do you remember being taken anywhere by a man named Jarod?" Ez asked again.

"Nope. But I have to go, I have places to go, people to see. Stuff like that." Raven said. At least her old mood was coming back.

"I'm sorry, but you must stay for a little while longer." The nurse pressed on. I couldn't handle sitting here. Hastily, I made my way over to Raven.

"So, you don't know who I am?" I asked her staring into her eyes.

"Well . . . you sound and look familiar I suppose." She said. Well that was a very tiny babystep.

My anger and hurt was rising.

"I'm a rogue, why aren't you killing me?" She asked. I raised my eyebrows.

"Well I doubt you'l let me, and I couldn't even if I was told to." I replied softly.

"Why is that?" She asked and rolled her eyes. "Because we're mates." I said.

Her eyes widened. "I don't know you and I feel nothing towards you." She said cautiously. I heard my wolf whimper in heartbreak. I too felt disturbed.

"Jarod injected her with something last minute I think. I wasn't sure, it was dark." I said to the nurse. She nodded and grabbed a needle.

"Hell to the no if you think you're putting that in my arm!" Raven hissed.

"It's to see if anything was put into your blood stream." She replied. Raven looked skeptical. The needle touched her skin, making Raven's eyes widen.

"Remember anything?" I asked hopefully.

"Bits and pieces I think . . . There was this wolf with a white snout. I think I threw a rock at her. Then it sort of skips to where I was in a house . . . eating an apple or fruit of some kind." She murmered and squinted her eyes. I almost jumped for joy.

"Anything else?" I pressed. She rubbed her temples, focusing hard.

"I'm sorry, no." She said and looked away. I sighed. How was I going to get her to remember?

"Alpha, this sample will take me a day to figure out what was put into her body. May I speak to you in the hallway?" Ez asked me. I nodded.

"Raven."

"Yes?"

"Don't try running." I warned.

"What's stopping me?"

"I always end up finding you." I said with a smirk, making a slight blush appear on her cheeks. I had never seen her blush, ever.  It was the cutest thing in the world.

She covered it up with a scowl and stuck her tongue out at me before laying back down. I followed Ez outside after giving a chuckle. She quietly closed the door behind her.

"What's the matter?" I asked her. She sighed.

"There's this tree. It's ancient and was gifted to Hunters eons ago. It's called the Silverlace Tree. The bark is enchanted, along with the fluids running inside the tree. It burnt down long ago. Are you familiar with the tale?" She asked. I furrowed my brows.

"Yeah, the Five ancient wolves burned down long ago to ash." I replied. Where was Ez going with this?

"I found Silverlace liquid inside of her body. It's been eating up her insides. Jarod must've injected it near her head for it's eating up her memory slowly. That's why she won't remember. I haven't a clue how he possibly got hold of the liquid from the tree, considering the bark is hard enough to get. Plus it was burnt down long ago." Ez explained.

The tree was like a legend. A storybook that we'd tell the pups of the pack before bed.

"Unless there's another tree, or there's some of it hidden." I replied. Ez nodded.

"I'm going to try and trace the origins of this Silverlace liquid and do much research on it. For now, I think you need to try and get Raven to remember. Asher and his mate, Dylan, went back to Jarods fortress and found the syringe  he injected Raven with.  I think they are going to try and track it down." Ez told me. I nodded.

"Thank you." I said silently. She smiled softly.

"This is for Raven. Some of the Silverlace is still inside of her. I'm looking for a cure, which should show up tomorrow in the test results. She is free to leave the hospital tonight." Ez said again. I nodded.

I couldn't believe that the Silverlace Tree still had some sort of lick of an existance in this world. Sighing, Ez went to her office. I went into Raven's room where she seemed to be thinking.

"I'm going to do everything I can to help you remember." I said to her. She looked up at me, desperation filling her eyes. I had never seen her like this. She almost seemed vulnerable.

"It just sucks you know? Not being able to remember your own life." She whispered. It broke my heart to see her in such a state.

"Well, I'm taking you to the pack house. You might remember a few things. Sound ok?" I asked. She nodded and got up.

"Wait-" I said. She glowered at me then her feet touched the floor. I walked over to her, but she tried to take one step and ended up falling. Where?

Onto me.

We both fell backwards, her on my stomach. I hit the ground hard with Raven still on top of me, her brown hair splattered across her shoulders.

"Nice." I said with a smirk. She rolled her eyes. I was suddenly aware of our close proximity. My wolf was screaming to mark her right now, but I couldn't do that to her. Once she remembered everything, she'd beat the living shit out of me.

Our grey/green eyes stared into my blue ones intently. Everything about her was so perfect. Her lips, eyes, cheeks. All of it. I wanted to claim her so bad.

She neared my face, then backed away. "Can you help me get up?" She asked. I smiled and nodded.

After helping her up, she got dressed and forced me to turn away.

"I'm the only man that will ever be able to see your body, so me turning around doesn't really change anything." I muttered in annoyance. I heard her chuckle, a sound that came from the heavens above.

"I'm ready." She said. I smiled and we left the hospital together.

We drove in an awkward silence and finally came to the pack house in the middle of the woods.

"Do I live here? Does all your pack live here?" She asked amazed. I chuckled.

"Some do and yes. Yes you do live here." I replied. She nodded and got out of the hummer.

"I think if I show you a few things, you might remember. Is that ok?" I asked gently. She glanced at me, blinking her perfect eyes.

"Yes." She said determined.

I brought her inside where the pack gasped and stared at her.

"The Luna's back!" Someone screamed. Raven's eyes widened as she looked at me.

"What are they talking about?" She asked me.

"I'm the Alpha babe. Making you . . " I trailed off, hoping she'd get what I meant.

"Luna. Holy shit did we already mate and did you mark me?!" She asked horrified.

I smiled then glared at the pack. They all returned to their duties afterwards.

"No. You weren't ready. Someone in my pack had force marked you, then he took you." I said, memories pooring in. I was pissed when I thought about him.

A hand was laid on my shoulder, sending shocks up my arm.

"What were you going to show me?" She asked with a small smile. I smirked.

"Up here." I said and led her to the stairs. We came to the top room, where I had thrown Jarod out.

"You were staying in the guest room." I said as we walked in.

"Did I do that?" She asked pointing at the window. I laughed out loud..

"Nope. When I found out that someone else had marked you although you were mine, he accused someone else of doing it. So I threw him out the window." I said, feeling guilty.

"You threw the wrong guy out the window?" She asked and raised her eyebrows. I bit my lip and nodded.

"You kept trying to tell me it wasn't him, that it was the other guy. I didn't believe you because you were a rogue and I was a dick." I said, meaning what I said.

"Psh, yeah that sounds like a dick move." She said with a smile, making me feel electricity.

She closed her eyes for a second then opened them.

"I think I remember a little bit." she said. Anticipation raced through my veins "What did you remember?" I asked hurriedly.

"Someone was thrown out of a window. Then, he's laying in a cot. Is the one you threw out of the window in a coma or something?" She asked. I nodded and looked away.

"Don't get me wrong, it's sweet and all that you'd throw a dude out of a window for me, but I'm sure I can handle myself. Oh, and at least get the RIGHT guy." She said with a smirk. She put her hand on her delicious hips and stared at me.

I rolled my eyes playfully. "I'll show you who I threw out of a window. You guys had grown sorta close and that's why you got really angry." I said as we walked back down the stairs.

"What's his name?" She asked. "Connor." I replied. She nodded.

I brought her downstairs and led her to a small room on the left. I opened the door and let her walk in first. There was laying Connor and my mistake that could cost him his life. I was being a terrible Alpha when I threw him out of the window on impulse.

"You really fucked him up." She said as she neared him and sat down on a chair. I nodded.

"I'd fuck up anyone who'd think of touching you." I said and stared straight into her lost eyes. She nodded.

"I kinda remember Connor." She said with a bright smile. It lit up my whole world when she smiled.

"I'll show you your room so you can get some rest." I said. She yawned and nodded. She got up and walked over to me and followed me.

We went back up the stairs and I led her into my room. I could take advantage of her memory loss and make her think she sleeps in my room. Devious, but I'm dying for her to stay with me at night.

"Thank you." She muttered. I smirked. "I'm sorry, what was that?" I said.

"Thank you!" she screamed. I laughed. "You are welcome." I replied. Raven rolled her eyes and climbed into my silver bed. I was going to follow her in, but I was  a stranger to her right now.

I turned the light off.

"Don't try climbing out of the window." I whispered as I closed the door. She asked why but I cut her off with the door closing.

--

I had stayed up late and awoken at 6 AM. Asher and Dylan came to me last night saying the syringe smelt like pure Werewolf poisen. They think it might've come from a field that only Hunters know about. Which means Jarod must've been working with a Hunter. But Hunters bargain. So what did Jarod possibly give up?

After showering, I made sure Raven was still sleeping and she was. Her angelic face was resting on the pillow, eye lashes brushing her upper cheek. Her body would rise then fall every second or so.

I closed the door, although I wanted nothing more than to stay with her.

I grabbed my keys and took off to Ez's office.  The whole ride I couldn't shake Raven or the Silverlace tree from my head.

It should have burnt down long ago. Why was Jarod working with a Hunter and what did he bargain?

How would I get Raven to remember and was there a cure to stop her insides from eating themselves up? I sighed in frustration and banged my fist on the wheel.

[Her wolf still has some memory left. More than Raven at least. But it's vivid and we need to find a sort of cure or something.] My wolf said with a growl.

I made it to the hospital and ran inside with hasty speed.

I went to the elevator and pressed -5.

Ez worked in a Human/Wolf hospital. The underground floors were meant for werewolves, and the top 5 floors were for humans.

After I went down, I searched for Ez's office.

"Alpha?" a woman asked. She worked with Ez. "Is Ez in?" I  asked. The lady smiled and pointed across the hall. Figures. I nodded at her then went inside.

"Alpha!! You're here." She said with a smile. I nodded. "Alright, so I've got the test results." She said.

 I nodded impatiently.

"There's an ancient flower field, like the one mentioned in the legend. Yet the flowers are Silverpoppies. Meaning it only has an affect on pack wolves. Rogues don't feel this affect because they have no tie to anyone. Silverpoppies can cause nasea and sleep. One sniff is all it takes for a pack wolf to black out.

"Which makes it essential for Hunters. There, located was the Silverlace tree. It was burnt down, yet a Hunter over 200 years old, named Ragnor Silver, harvested the bark and a dash of the liquids inside of it. He must've ran off after the tree was burnt down. The ashes of the tree were burried in that field, located in Arizona. It's nearest to the Silver Moon Pack. I'm sure Hunters have bargained with the pack to keep that tree safe." Ez explained. I nodded.

"I've heard Ragnor ran off and is hiding out in Arizona. He must be the Protector of the Silverlace Tree's last origins." I muttered trying to put the pieces together.

"He knows all about the Silverlace Tree. In order to find a cure to stop the liquid from burning Raven, you need to find Ragnor." She replied.

How the hell was I going to do that? He's like, 200 years old! Hunters tend to live longer based on their ancestry. He must've been an original Hunter. Meaning his ancestors were one of the first Hunter's in the world. There were 9 original Hunters and 5 original Wolves.

"I guess I'm going to Arizona." I said with a smirk. I was getting that cure for Raven, no matter what.

Ahhh See? He can fix her :D
