Chapter 24. In Laws

HI GUYS :D

Today I'm going to a winter formal for my school MEEEEEEEEEEER!!! I'm so excited and kinda nervous cuz of all the drama that's been going on . . .

Anywho...I still really like this guy and I thought I totally convinced myself I didn't like him but my hormones are all like "HAHAHAHAH NOPE!"

And We had a rally yesterday on friday and I saw him and I think he saw me but he never says hi to me anymore and it really puts me in a downer mood. v.v

ON THE OTHER HAND

There's a super attractive . . . who am I kidding, sexy hot ass junior at my school and he's the perfect male specimen, like idk if he came from this planet or not or if his parents are just effin models.

I shit you not this boy is gorgeous. We've made eye contact about a good solid four times. FOUR TIMES!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D I sound like a love crazed teenager, shoot me in the face.

I'm sure most of you didn't read that cuz you wanna get on with the story so here ya go

Raven's POV***

I gave myself a once over in the mirror. I was meeting the pack today. The whole friggen pack! I had no idea how to present myself. I didn't want to look trashy, too casual, or like a kid. I have no idea what I'm going to do. I'm still in my fresh white towel with my hair in damp strings hanging down.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

"What?!" I snapped in annoyance.

"I'm a packmember, and I was sent to help you dress." A girl said from the other side. Don't get me wrong, I hated help. I rarely asked for it. But I had no idea what to do right now and the barbeque was already going on downstairs.

"Whatever, come in." I groaned as I sat on the bed with irritation. In through the door walked in a girl that looked about my age with brown hair and brown eyes.

"I'm Dylan." She said with a friendly smile.

"Raven." I announced.

"Ya know, the barbeque is already going on and you aren't even dressed..." Dylan said with a frown. I let out a growl.

"No shit, I know that." I told her. Dylan rolled her eyes at me and put a hand on her hip.

"Hey, I just came to help you wear something so you don't have to be a bitch about it." She snarled with her face contorting into anger.

"I didn't ask for your help." I reminded her.

"You sure need it though." She retorted with anger.

"You're Asher's mate, aren't you?" I asked. Her eyes widened before her teeth elongated into fangs.

"Yes." She growled.

I studied her for a second longer before someone knocked on the door.

"WHAT!?" We shouted simultaneously.

"Uh, nevermind." Replied the voice. I took a deep breath before the foosteps went away.

"Hm." I muttered before I stepped back.

"What?" She asked.

"I like you. You have my respect." I told her.

"What??" She asked again.

"You're not like other pack wolves. I can tell you have a past. I mean, everyone does, but I can tell yours is a special one like mine. You get extra defensive when I said your mate's name. You don't listen to command like every other wolf here. You actually use your voice. That's why I like you." I told her in simple terms.

She stiffened before looking at the ground as her face got red. Soon, she hit against the wall and slumped down on the ground with sad eyes. Great, now I felt bad.

I wrapped my towel around my body tighter and joined her on the ground.

"You could tell just from all that?" She asked silently  as she twiddled her thumbs.

"Yes." I replied.

"Luna, can I console in you?" She suddenly asked with wide eyes. I was shocked to say at the least. She seemed like a girl with a hard shell, but she seemed broken inside and no one but me had noticed.

"No Luna shit, I'm Raven. And yeah, I'm here." I told her.

"I was kind of like you at first. A rogue. I was born rogue, and I really hated it. I was left on my own till I was 14, then I was found by a man. He seemed normal at first . . .nice, kind. All that jazz. But one night, he . . .. he . . he touched me. In ways that mates should. Not older men to younger girls." She announced to me in a silent voice. I gasped at her words. Someone hurting this girl made me upset for some reason.

"It hurt, and continued on for two years. I ran away and I came here. Asher found me wondering around in the woods like the lost puppy I was. I hated him at first. I hated everything. I hated myself. But . . . Asher showed me a whole new world. He showed me the good parts of the world. If it weren't for him, I would be dead." She whispered.

I found myself wanting to reach out to her. Without notice, I grasped her forearms and embraced her in a large hug. Something I had never done before.

"We are more alike than you think." I whispered to her as her silent tears fell down my back.

"H-how?" She whimpered as she sobbed harder.

"For starters, we're strong. Strong on the outside so it helps hide what's on the inside." I said as I pulled away. She wiped her eyes and stared at me.

"I've done horrible things. I hated everything and everyone too. I blamed myeslf for things that weren't my fault. Even now, I still feel guilty. But no one  saw our pain. We hide it. But now, we have that one special person in our lives. The game changers. Our mates. Everything gets better." I told her. I wasn't used to this. Being soft and gentle. But I now had a soft spot for Dylan.

I had only just met her and she already found solace in me to reveal something very personal.

"You can't tell Asher. He can't know." She ushered.

"You have my word. But-eventually he is going to have to know or find out. The more you bottle it up, the more it overflows. He'll be upset yes, but not with you." I told her. Dylan wiped her and took a deep breath.

"Wow, so much mushy shit." She said with a chuckle as she helped me up.

"I feel you." I told her with the roll of my glossy eyes.

And with that, we told each other everything about ourselves within 20 minutes. She got my clothes, and helped with my makeup and hair as we laughed and shouted together in that room.

Turns out she once had a little brother named Gregory, and has no idea where he is now. I promised her that I would help her search in the future. I think I just gained a best friend, even if we've only known each other for an hour.

I stood in the mirror and took a look. My hair was dry and pin straight. I had on denim skinny jeans, converse and a somewhat fancy shirt. My makeup consisted of gold eyeshadow and a black cat eye.

"Are you ready?" She asked with a grin. I sighed. "As ready as I'll ever be." I said with a groan. I opened the door and steadily walked down stairs.

Omg.

What if the pack doesn't like me? What if they think I'm horrible because I'm a rogue?! What if they hate me because of all the drama I've caused?!?!?!?!?!?!?

"I can't go out there!" I whispered to Dylan.

"Yes you can, and you will. Alpha Tyler is out there waiting for you. He's with his parents-"

"PARENTS!? HELL NO!!" I screamed before I tried to run upstairs, but Dylan firmly grabbed my arm.

"Nope. Put on your big girl thong and get out here." She scolded.

[Quit being a wimp, I want to meet our pack, and more importantly I want to see our mate.] My wolf reprimanded. I groaned. They were both right. I had to do this.

I stepped towards the sliding back door and took in account of the 300 people in our huge backyard. My hands were sweating and my heart was beating faster than usual. I forced the door to open, and soon, I welcomed the fresh air. Immediately, my eyes searched for Tyler.

Finally my eyes landed on my handsome mate as he talked with some older ladies that were fawning over him, and one was pinching his cheek as he laughed. I smiled. He seemed so happy, and his happiness made me happy. Just seeing him interact with others, and the way people looked at him in admiration made me content.

One of the pruny skinned old ladies pointed at me with a teasing smirk on her face. Tyler zoomed around until his beautiful eyes locked on mine from afar. His eyes greedily scanned my legs to my head. His blue orbs morphed into black as he bid farewell with the older ladies who were snickering.

I looked behind me for Dylan, but she was inside with her mate in kitchen. I sighed nervously and made my way to Tyler. As I got closer to him, he grabbed me in a hug. I snuggled into his arms, and took a deep whiff of his scent, as he did mine. I could never get enough of that.

"You're late." he whispered huskily in my ear.

"I was kind of dealing with Dylan." I told him as I backed away.

"Was she hard on you? A lot of pack members don't like her." He said with caution.

"I love her." I told him defensively. He grinned and grasped my hand, causing sparks to erupt from the touch.

We started to walk through the crowd of people who variously whispered "alpha" or "luna" And slightly bowed their heads.

"By the way," Said Tyler as he neared my face. "You look beautiful," he told me with a wink. I felt my cheeks heat up as I looked the other way.

"You don't look so bad yourself." I regarded with a grin. He gave my hand a tight squeeze before we walked up to an elderly couple, which smelled and looked like Tyler. I gulped in nervousness.

[Don't be nervous. I'm right here.] I heard in my mind link. I looked at Tyler as he tightened his grip on my hand.

"Mom, dad." He regarded and the two smiled.

"Ahhh, this must be your mate." His mother said with a happy grin. I smiled back at her, hoping for her approval. I glanced at his dad who said nothing.

"I'm Helen, Tyler's mother. And this is Preston, my mate, husband, and Tyler's father." Helen said as she took me into a death grip hug. I wheezed as she let go.

"It's a pleasure to meet you both." I said with a slight bow.  Helen let out a happy giggle. I looked up at Tyler's father who had a hard look on his face. Oh god he hates me. I can tell. I CAN TELL!!! Shit, now what?

"Raven, is it?" He suddenly asked in a deep voice. His hair was parted in the middle, which made him look like a snobby rich old dude, and his eyes and nose looked just like Tyler's along with his cheek bones. His mother seemed more pixie like with her green eyes and warm smile. Her hair was blonde and she wasn't bad looking for an oldy.

"Yes." I told him, more nevous than before.

"I've heard a great deal about you." He said without a smile. I gulped. Oh great, kill me now. Tyler's grip on my hand tightened and he was now glaring at his dad with harsh eyes.

"I'm sure." I said with a joking tone, but now I see I only made matters worse. Helen shook her head at her husband.

"The rogue girl. The rogue who came into this pack, terrorized our ways, made the pack worry sick about you, and cause the death of our previous beta." He noted. I gulped as I felt like I was being totally scrutinized.

"Dad." Tyler warned with a growl. My wolf whimpered at our mates' father. We sounded horrible to him. I didn't blame him, but I feel like he was already judging me before he got to know me.

"So, you know all about me." I told him with sass. I wasn't about to let some rude ass future father in law humiliate me in front of Tyler or my future mother in law. His eyes widened but soon turned black as his wolf let out a subtle growl that only I seemed to have heard.

"Raven, it's time to announce you to the pack. Goodbye mom, dad." Tyler said as he glared at his father, who obviously dispised my existance on this planet.

With that he pulled me away from them.

"I am so sorry baby." He crooned as we walked towards the balcony.

"Don't be. I like your mom. Don't get me wrong, your dad is . . your dad is uh . .  he's uh .. . " I struggled to find the right words. Tyler chuckled.

"An asshole, I know. Are you ready?" He asked as we walked up the stairs. I sighed as my nerves picked back up.

It was now time for the ceremony to begin since the sun was starting to set

Here we go.

Eh not what I was expecting but good enough:D
