I can hear his heart beat
We finally did it! The supply room was clear and no titans were entering! (Curtesy of the big variant Titan that fights other titans) I filled up six canisters and was able to shove them securely onto my 3D device. I waited as people filled their canisters and wandered about until we head out.
"Nice move with that Titan." Reiner complimented, I simply nodded my thank you. Sasha came running over to hug me. I hate hugs.
"That was amazing!" I squirmed under her grasp.
"I was no better than the rest of us." I mumbled. We walked out into the Titan-free court yard and some of us glided toward the wall, ready to get the heck out, but Mikasa looked atop the roof at something I couldn't see. Curiosity got the best of me and I joined her shortly, watching the variant Titan being eaten by other titans of all sizes. He roared, and a voice like wind bounced in my brain.
Help me....Elise....Mikasa....Armin....help, it hurts...
My eyes widened and I pulled out my swords.
"We have to help him!" I blurt out.
"Why? It's a Titan?" Jean argued.
"And have you stopped to think that Titan could be our ally?" Annie snapped back.
"I-I don't know!"
I turned my back to the scene below to the debate that was ensuing about the variant Titan, that was a stupid mistake.
"Listen, we can think about that later. Act now before we don't have a choice! I- AAAHHHH!" A hand of a fifteen-meter class Titan grabbed me and began walking off. I felt like my insides were going to splat, and I struggled to free my hand to slice the Titan, but it was locked tight. I gave my comrades a stern face, because crying won't solve the problem, and I knew it was the end of me. Jean had tears streaking down his face while Annie, and Armin were holding screaming Mikasa. The hand began to squeeze the breath out of my lungs and that's when I screamed, and I hoped for the best. A large noise sounded off next to me, the variant Titan lunged toward my Titan, throwing a powerful left hook, so powerful, his hand exploded on impact. The grip loosened and I gulped for air, even if it was filled with smoke. I was falling, exactly like five years ago. I closed my eyes and waited for the splat of my body. I wouldn't be able to shoot out of there if I wanted, my 3D gear broke with the force of the pressure on my chest.
Then I felt myself being raised up.
Whipping my eyes open, I came face to face with the variant Titan. His teeth showing due to no lips covering them, and his bright green eyes drilling into my eyes.
Elise....
My eyes widened as he set me on the ground and wobbled backward, letting out a cry of agony, then falling frontwards on his face. Jean was the first at my side, but I barely noticed him because of the shock I was in. The burning flesh of the Titan that saved me sick to my stomach. I could almost hear the voice in my head.
Elise...Mikasa....help me....
I lunged myself toward the sizzling body as steam bellowed out of the nape. I couldn't see much through the steam, but I could see the outline of a human. A familiar human.
"Holy shit.. It's Eren." I whisper and everyone stared at me. My eyes widened so they looked as big as marbles. "I-It's EREN!! HOLY SHIT HE'S ALIVE!!!" I screamed as Mikasa ran to his unconcise body. We dragged him a safe distance to HQ where we had a awkward reunion. She held him up as she heard for his blood to pump, a pulse, life. She began hysterically crying.
"He's alive. Oh god, he's alive!!" Mikasa buried her face into his neck. Armin looked in amazement and felt his left arm, intertwining their fingers.
"How? He lost his leg, then his arm, how does he have them?" He mumbled in a quiet voice. Then it hit me.
"So if Eren was in that thing, he saved me and.." I stared at all of the damage and killings. "..did this." I finished, causing a chill to run up my spine.
We couldn't let anybody find out about Eren, so I suggested we take the canal way into Wall Rose. That's when things got tough.
"We're almost there." Jean said as the lift raised us up the waterfall.
"You guys should leave Eren to us when we get inside the wall. You guys could get in trouble." I sternly told the six soldiers. Jean and Sasha put up a fight.
"I'm not leaving you alone!" Jean stared at me with concern.
"I'm really getting pissed with people thinking I can't defend my friends. I've been training since I was six. Even with swords. Im FINE." I hissed, keeping a emotionless face throughout the rest of the trip. Everyone was silent. We were five feet from the top, I stopped the lift and instructed Reiner, Annie, Bertolt, Connie, Sasha, and Jean to enter the city from the wall so they would not have the same fate as us if caught. The five left, but Jean was stubborn.
"Goddamnit Jean. If we die, I'm saying I told you so." Mikasa sighed. I concentrated on the lift. Once we were up, we were greeted with several thousand guns and our five friends trying to push their way in to save us. I sighed.
"Damn." I growled. Stepping out, I shielded everyone else as they got still unconcise Eren out of the lift. Calculating our chances of surviving if we jumped into the icy water. Nope. Only way out is to fight.
"Step away from the Titan!" The general ordered, but we didn't move. I motioned for everyone to stay behind me as I drew my swords.
"Eren is my friend. I am not moving. If you want him, you have to get through me." I said in a calm voice, but became violent at the last sentence. "And trust me, I'm pretty tough to get through!"
"I will shoot!!" He said in a scared voice. A cannon clicked above us as it moved into place.
"Eren!" Armin let out a sigh of relief.
"W-What happened?" Eren asked, confused with the guns pointed at his head.
"Move!" The General snapped at me.
"Hell no!" I yelled back. His eyes grew wide and he yelled, "FIRE ALL GUNS!" Luckily it wasn't the cannon, but I still needed to protect Eren. What was that trick I learned about swords against bullets?
"What are we doing today?" I asked my brother as we quietly slipped through the cool, dense, forest.
"You are going to learn how to deflect bullets with a sword," Logan told me. The swords were heavy in my tiny hands and I was scared of failing the drill. He demonstrated the move a couple of times before gesturing for me to try on some fruit. The pressure on my chest loosened, no bullets yet. I flailed around before looking up at my brother through juice-covered white hair. He chuckled and grabbed ahold of my swords.
"Get ready." He instructed. I nodded, letting him take ahold of my arms. I copied the movement of my arms, the momentum needed, the flick of my wrist. I never forgot...
My eyes widened as the bullets spiraling toward my chest took the appearance of the fruit I had trained on through my years. I jumped into action, doing a quick acrobatic movement to push me forward. My swords were swinging rapidly, the sound of metal against metal filled my ears. I felt my brothers strong hands guiding me as the bullets began ricocheting off the steel and back at the soldiers. I smirked at the smoke trailing off my swords.
Well done, my sister...
"F-Fire the cannon!!" the general yelled. I widened my eyes as the cannon string was pulled. I felt Eren pull me toward him by my waist with Jean, Armin, and Mikasa before biting a giant chunk out of his hand. Lightning struck down and everything went dark. A large explosion went off to my right causing tons of smoke to kick up, good. This gives us time, but when I look up, my face becomes white with fear. The bones of a Titan were nestled above me, but dissipating quickly. Eren was pulling furiously on his arm that was stuck in the flesh.
"Ew." I grimaced.
"I know." Eren agreed, standing up. I put my swords away as Jean was standing up in the ribs if the titan.
"We need to get out of here." Armin cautioned us as the bones began to collapse. We followed him into the smoke to discuss the battle plan.
"That was some serious shit Eren." Jean complimented.
"Thanks.. but it means nothing if we can't get these guys to lower the weapons." Eren sighed. We turned to Armin, well, he is the best at compromises, but he looked at us as if he didn't know that.
"What are you looking at?" Armin asked.
"You. duh. You're the best at this kind of stuff." He blushed at my compliment.
"I'm putting my life into your hands Armin, I always have." Eren nodded towards the soldiers through the steam.
"Go, you can do it."
Armin gulped before standing up and walked off, I soon followed; just to make sure Armin wasn't stupidly shot. We walked into the sunlight, and twenty loaded guns greeted us.
"WAIT!" The general shouted, but a soldier shot out of instinct. If I hadn't been there to deflect the bullet, Armin would be dead right now. Annie and Bertolt had left, but Reiner was staring at me, probably because of my earlier action.
"I believe Eren is good." Armin announced weakly.
"HE'S A MONSTER!!" The general cried.
"Think about having him on our side! We could take back Wall Maria! He could help us do so much more than what we can do!!" Armin began, this time, stronger. "I know many of you are scared if what he can do, but he's not only a titan, but a Human Being. I've known Eren a long time, and He's never, ever turned his back on me." He saluted to the older man. "Sir, our job as soldiers is to save humanity, and I believe he can do that. So I will stand by him until I die." Armin finished, closing his eyes for the end. I shrugged and also saluted to the general, only to get oddball looks from the others. I could see my brother fighting his way through the streets filled with dirty faces and hungry stomachs.
"Elise!" He yelled, running over to my side as the steam. He hugged me tight, but I kept my eye in the general. "I thought I lost you.." He whispered into my ear.
"I would have been dead if it wasn't for Eren." I raised my voice for everyone to hear. A soldier with sandy ear length hair ran up to the scared general.
"They're the yin yang siblings sir, and I am sure it would be a shame to let the strongest twins in humanity perish here." He whispered. A bald head appeared among the crowd, shining as if it were a metal helmet. The soldiers obeyed to him without the man speaking a word. He set a slender hand on the bearded, scared general's shoulder.
"P-Pyxis!" He breathed out as if he had breathed bad air. Pyxis nodded toward Armin, who was still looking like he'd pee his pants.
"I'll take them off your hands, general."
