Decision

Yhwach was pacing back and forth as he was still awaiting news from his men. He knew that his men should be at the homes of his brothers. He was going insane that Esmeralda escaped. The older man knew that his brothers and Sosuke had something to do with it. Yhwach feared they had planned something; some of him felt they wouldn't be home.

His mind was going all over the place, and he hated losing control. Yhwach always had power; he demanded it. Now, he didn't. Esmeralda was now with Sosuke; she was in his arms. The thought of them together was making him go mad. He wanted to create a new life with Esmeralda to show he could live the happiness he always wanted. With her gone, that was no longer possible.

"Heh! Heh! Heh! Everything didn't go to plan, did it, Yhwach?"

Yhwach stilled when he heard a voice that sounded familiar. He slowly looked to his left side and saw the image of his father, Alucard, sitting on a chair. His black hair was longer with many gray hairs combined; his mustache grew more, making his once youthful face older and disheveled. The image of Alucard changed drastically; he looked like death incarnate. Yhwach's eyes became wide. "How are you still here?"

"I never left, Yhwach, my boy. The day after you killed me, I swore to stay by your side to see how much of a disappointment you became. Now look, I was right. You truly have become pathetic."

Yhwach turned away from the image of his father. He put his hands on his head. "You're not real. You're dead."

"It is so adorable trying to convince yourself. Why is that? Do you still feel traumatized from when you killed me that day? When you first had blood in your hands?"

Yhwach's body was shaking. Memories flooded back to him.

.........

A 21-year-old Yhwach returned home once he finished the university. His father ordered him to return home since he had important news to tell him. The young man did enjoy his time at university. He had fun with women, did drugs, drank, and studied well. He was the talk of the university and popular. However, those days were done, but Yhwach plans to return to get his master's degree in business.

His father's men went to the apartment and motioned him to follow Alucard's orders. After a couple of hours of traveling, Yhwach made it to his childhood home, a place he had always hated. Yhwach knew about what happened with Integra. Deep down, he was happy she was dead; he knew his father had killed her. Yet, Alucard wasn't the same after that day. His mother sold him out and told Alucard that Yhwach was responsible. Yhwach felt betrayed but felt foolish trusting his mother, who left shortly after. A few days later, his mother died from a supposed drug overdose; Yhwach felt Alucard murdered her. The teenager feared for his life, but Alucard didn't kill him.

No, instead, Alucard began to beat Yhwach every day. Alucard blamed Yhwach for Integra's death. Yhwach remembered all the beatings he had from his father. Whenever he tried to fight back against his father, Alucard ordered his men to hold Yhwach down, intensifying the beatings. Once, his father beat him so severely that Yhwach's heart stopped beating; he was resurrected. Everyone, including his teachers and classmates, knew of the abuse, but no one did anything to stop it. All feared his father, who had considerable influence in Romania and other parts of Europe.

Yhwach hated everyone; no one cared for him and his suffering. The university was his only escape; he was accepted to Harvard. That was the only sense of happiness he had. Now, he was at home, and he was now a grown man. His father was old and couldn't fight against him; Yhwach was ready to fight. Once inside his home was nothing but darkness; a cold chill hit him. His footsteps echoed throughout the house. The young man went to his father's study, knowing he would be there. Sure enough, Alucard stood by the window looking at the outside. Yhwach closed the door behind him; father and son were alone.

"You sent for me?"

"You wouldn't be standing here if I didn't. I imagine you enjoyed your time at school."

Yhwach gave an 'hn' as a response.

"Well, now that you are done with your studies, I have something to announce; it's about your wife."

This confused Yhwach. What did his father mean by wife? So many thoughts went through his head. Marriage was the last thing on his mind. He still wanted to study, travel, and lay with more women. "Father, I'm not ready to settle down and don't plan to. I-"

Alucard slowly turned to his son. "You didn't understand what I just told you. You already have a wife."

Yhwach's eyes were slowly becoming wide. "What are you talking about?"

"While you were away at the university. I decided it was best for you to settle down since you tend to do stupid things. I contacted one of my old colleagues, Genryusai Yamamoto, from Japan. He has a lovely daughter named Unohana. We both signed your marriage certificate. You both are legally married."

"You did not..."

Alucard had a slight smirk on his face. "You know I never joke around, Yhwach. You will meet your wife in two days. Before I forget to tell you, you two will not be able to divorce. Yamamoto and I also signed a contract that if either of your divorces the other, then the one who initiates the divorce will lose everything." The older man glared at his son as his smirk grew more sadistic. "You both will be bound until death. Isn't that wonderful?" Alucard began to laugh.

Yhwach was still; he felt empty; he didn't know what to think or feel. His freedom was only limited. His father always found ways to make him miserable and to take his happiness away. All Yhwach saw was rage and hurt. "Why? Why me!? Why!?"

Alucard stopped laughing. "Why? Why didn't you mind your own damn business!? I could have been happy with Integra and our sons! You took it all away when you told your worthless mother, who told Integra! Integra and our sons left me alone! Because of you, I no longer have my sons! You took everything away from me!"

"Then, why did you have me? If you and Mother were never to love me, then why was I born!?"

"You were nothing more than an obligation from our family. You were nothing more to keep the bloodline going. You are nothing and will always be nothing. You will never be happy."

Something in Yhwach changed in him. All his anger overcame him, and without warning, he ran to his father while getting a bottle of bourbon and hit his father on the head with it. Yhwach screamed profanities toward his father. Alucard tried to stop his son but was overpowered; he couldn't scream for his men. Blood spilled to the floor and onto Yhwach. Eventually, the young man's anger subsided, and he realized what he had done.

Yhwach looked at his father as blood poured out from his head from the small hole. The young man felt nothing. Instead, he began to laugh while pointing to his father. His laughs became louder as he stood over his father.

............

Yhwach clenched his head. The image of Alucard stood before him. "Look at you, obsessing over a woman who never wanted you. Trying to force her to love you. You truly have become a worthless shit as I always thought you were."

"Shut up."

"Look at yourself, Yhwach. You know deep down that you are and always were a disappointment. Even with all the wealth you took from me and earned, you couldn't get the woman you wanted. She wants and loves your son. I can't blame the young lady. Your son is handsome, intelligent, respectful, and kind. Something you never were and will never be. My son, King, did a wonderful job taking care of your responsibility. He was a better man and father than both of us." Alucard looked at Yhwach. "You will not be happy, Yhwach; you will die knowing that fact."

"SHUT UP!!!" Yhwach looked up, and no one was there. He sat on the floor, trembling.

Bradley, Vlad, Gol D, Issa, and their wives were on a plane to London. They had twenty minutes to land. Bradley was looking at the news of California. All his fears were confirmed; Unohana and Kenpachi were dead. It was all over the news. Bradley got a call from Tsukushima; he and Starrk were devastated. They did believe that their father was responsible. Since Unohana was a significant figure, the FBI would be involved. Yhwach may have powerful friends, but the FBI is an agency that should not be messed with.

Vlad called their lawyers to prepare for the worst to protect Sosuke. All they could do now was wait for what would happen next. Bradley closed his laptop and went to his wife, who was sleeping soundly. Everyone was quiet and worried; they couldn't believe such things had happened. Eventually, the plane landed, everyone got their belongings, got into SUVs, and was driven to the Hellsing Manor. Bradley, Vlad, and their wives were in one SUV, while the others were in another. Everyone was silent. "It has been long since we've been in grandfather's home. Are you nervous, Bradley?" asked Vlad.

"No, it's just that it has been so many years since we have been in our grandfather's home. We had so many memories in the manor. Some were painful." Bradley remembered when his mother sent him and their brothers to their grandfather. Bradley was the oldest of his brothers, and they didn't know much about their grandfather. Their mother, Integra, told them that she and her father weren't on the best of terms, but he always wanted to meet them.

However, Alucard, their father, made it difficult for Arthur and convinced Integra not to. Yet, it was different. Bradley remembered the day his mother discovered the truth about their father marrying another woman and having another son. He had an older brother he never knew about.

Either way, his mother told him she would confront Alucard, but she sent the brothers to her father. Bradley remembered when they all got to the Hellsing Manor, amazed at the structure. The older man remembered when they first met Walter. He was an educated man but did have some sense of humor. Meeting his grandfather, Arthur, was a different story. Arthur was stern, but he held softness in his blue eyes when meeting his grandsons for the first time. Integra was his only child; seeing that he had many grandsons made him happy. Arthur treated his grandsons with love and respect but had high expectations. After Integra's death, Arthur was determined to raise his grandsons to the fullest.

Bradley chuckled at the memory of Gol D and Issa giving their grandfather a hard time with their pranks in and out of school. Gol D even played pranks on Arthur, which gave him a headache, but he would laugh. Bradley once overheard his grandfather and Walter saying that Gol D reminded them of Arthur when he was young. All the brothers did have their faults, but Arthur was proud of them.

Bradley then remembered the day when Arthur was on his deathbed. Arthur made sure to give all his grandsons a fortune to continue their educations and that all his properties belonged to them. He also told them what happened to their mother, which was shocking. Arthur kept it from his grandsons to protect them from the pain. The older man tried to bring their father to justice, but it was futile. Arthur may have died knowing he could never avenge his daughter, but he died knowing his grandsons; that was enough for him.

Bradley's thoughts were interrupted when he saw they had made it to the manner. He felt his heart skip when he saw his grandfather's home. Everyone got out of the manor and walked toward the building; they entered. Inside, the house was empty. The brothers looked at the manor. "We should visit more often. I feel bad leaving this place alone," said Issa.

"I agree; Grandad did give this place to us. I remember all the pranks I did on Grandad; you should've seen the look on his face. Still, he never gave me a butt whooping," said Gol D.

"Grandfather did have his moments but did his best to raise us. There were four of us, so it wasn't easy for him, especially after Mother died," said Vlad. The brothers were quiet, as were their wives. From the corner of his eye, Vlad saw his two nephews and Esmeralda walking toward them.

"You all made it," said Ace. Suddenly, Rouge went to her son and hugged him tightly. Ace hugged his mother back.

Amelia went to Sosuke and hugged him tightly, kissing him on the forehead. She went to Esmeralda and hugged her too. "I'm glad you all came here safely. We ordered take-out since I knew you'd all be tired."

"We could have cooked something, Sosuke. However, you are right; the flight was exhausting."

Sosuke smiled; Bradley noticed his nephew's smile. It was no ordinary smile, and Bradley knew something was up. "Anyway, let's go and eats. There's something I wish to tell you all."

Everyone walked to the dining room, where their plates, cups, forks, and spoons were placed. There were trays of food on the table. Everyone sat in their seats and began to serve themselves. Bradley would glance at Sosuke and Esmeralda, looking at each other and smiling. The older man knew that something was up. However, he knew that Sosuke had something important to tell them all. Everyone began to eat and have some conversations. Bradley didn't want to tell Sosuke about the situation. He wanted to see how it would progress.

Eventually, Sosuke cleared his throat catching everyone's attention. "Everyone, there is something I need to tell everyone. After rescuing Esmeralda, we both realized and admitted that we love each other."

The women squealed in the excitement that the couple had finally admitted their love for one another. The men were happy for the couple. "Wow, it took a kidnapping to make you both realize you love each other," Issa said jokingly.

The brothers threw bread at Issa, and Akasha pinched his cheek.

Esmeralda couldn't help but giggle while Sosuke chuckled. "Uncle Issa has some good points, even though he had many screwed-up relationships. Esmeralda and I love one another so much that I asked her to marry me. She said yes."

Bradley spat out his wine and coughed. "You what!?"

"I asked Esmeralda to marry me; she said yes."

"Are you both sure? Right now, things are complicated, but marriage is a huge responsibility! Sosuke, you-" Bradley was interrupted when Amelia gently touched his.

"Bradley. Sosuke and Esmeralda are adults. I can sense that this is something they want to do. Besides, I thought that these two were suitable for one another. Although, I would have liked Esmeralda for Miyabi."

Esmeralda blushed while Sosuke cleared his throat.

Bradley then looked at the young woman. "Esmeralda, you are barely eighteen. You hardly know anything about the world. Marriage is something sacred and requires a lot of hard work and sacrifice. Sosuke is older than you. Are you sure about this?"

Esmeralda gently held onto Sosuke's hand as he did the same. "Mr. Bradley, I know your concern, but I have known sacrifice since childhood. I lived through it and saw it. Sosuke is a rare man in my time, and I love him so much that I am afraid of losing him. I am willing to do anything and everything for him. I know Sosuke would do the same to me. We know marriage is not about keeping one happy but for both. It is about going through the good and the bad times. Sosuke and I know we will face difficulties, but we will go through them together."

Everyone was silent until Amelia spoke up. "Get married now."

"Amelia?" Bradley asked.

"I don't know what the future might hold, but if you two are willing to marry one another, then do so now. Bradley and I can hire someone to make your union permanent. It can be a small ceremony. Everything can be done tonight."

Sosuke was surprised at his aunt's declaration. He did agree that the situation with Yhwach and the murders may not always go to plan. His biggest regret is not being with Esmeralda and being unable to protect her. "What do you think?"

She looked at him. "Yes, let's get married today."

"Well, it's settled. We need to eat up and prepare everything. Bradley, dear. Do make some phone calls. You men will prepare the settings in the ballroom while the women and I will get a dress for Esmeralda."

When everyone was done eating, they began to do what they needed. Sosuke went with his uncle Bradley to make some preparations. Esmeralda and Ace were left alone, and the young woman noticed the shock and sadness in Ace's eyes. "Ace, I-" She couldn't finish as Ace stood up from his seat and walked in the opposite direction. It was too much for the young man; he didn't want her to see his tears.
