40} breaking out the shell

Taehyung pouts as Jungkook does the first three steps one more time, looking over at him to follow suit. Instead, Taehyung groans and plops onto the studio floor, frowning up at the younger boy.

"I can't dance, Jungkook," Taehyung tells him with a whine.

He lost his stutter around the boy almost a week ago now; he still remembers the huge ass grin that broke out on Jungkook's face when he noticed before Taehyung. His eyes had lit up so bright--sometimes Taehyung thinks of his expression then just to smile himself.

"You liar. I saw you following the choreography the other day. You want to try something new, right?"

Taehyung juts his bottom lip further out, scrunching his eyebrows to properly show his discontent. Jungkook all but laughs, pinching the elder's cheek.

"It's that or you can sing with me," Jungkook cuts in, holding up a finger when Taehyung goes to argue. "Stop denying you have a talent when you sing literally everywhere you go."

"It's not a talent. It's a hobby."

"A hobby you're really amazing at."

Taehyung looks down with flushed cheeks.

"What if I saw pretty please?" Jungkook asks, squatting so he can look into Taehyung's eyes.

"Why do you want me to embarrass myself so bad?"

"Because you'd enjoy it."

Taehyung gives him a look.

Jungkook sighs. "Dancing, I mean." Jungkook grabs Taehyung's wrist, swinging them childishly as he tries to pull the elder up. "Come on, hyungie," he singsongs, only deepening the red of Taehyung's cheeks.

Taehyung, for some reason, allows Jungkook to pull him up. He doesn't have time to do much else, though, before Jungkook is tapping the play button on his phone, his speaker filling the room with sound. Taehyung gawks at him; it's a completely different song from what he had just been trying to teach.

It's a tango.

"No," Taehyung says, eyes wide as he draws the line. "I am not about to tango."

Jungkook grins, waggling his eyebrows like the goofball he is, swinging Taehyung's arms again. Jungkook's feet automatically make odd patterns on the floor--he clearly isn't doing a set choreography, only trying to make Taehyung laugh.

He hates to admit that it works.

Jungkook truly is an interesting soul, willing to make the dumbest faces and pull the weirdest dance moves just to get Taehyung to laugh harder. Taehyung is in the middle of slapping Jungkook's shoulder while the younger shimmies when the door to the abandoned studio opens, startling both of them.

Hoseok stands in the doorway, blinking a few times before he sighs, mumbling, "I should've stayed in bed this morning."
