32} coffee date

Jungkook turns around, his heart fluttering with hope when Taehyung sheepishly looks up to meet his gaze, cheeks flushed. "Yeah?"

Taehyung is rubbing his forearm, but he manages to hold eye contact when he asks softly, "Is t-that coffee s-still up for grabs?"

Jungkook grins. "Of course it is."

Taehyung smiles, hesitantly descending the stairs to walk at Jungkook's side.

"Oh. And this..." Jungkook sets his backpack on the ground, squatting to dig through it. Taehyung gasps when he pulls out a brand new camera, an upgraded version from the one he had before. Jungkook smiles softly at Taehyung's reaction, a bit shy when he says, "I promised you a new one, so..."

"I-I can't," Taehyung whispers, gawking at him like he's crazy. "That's t-too expensive!"

"No, it's okay. It was just my rent for the month."

Taehyung's eyes widen, his stomach twisting with guilt.

Jungkook laughs. "I'm kidding, hyung. I made some extra cash at a dancing gig the other night, so it's all good. Take it, please?"

Taehyung wants to decline further, but Jungkook has already spent the money on it. He would feel worse if he didn't accept it, albeit it's hard to take it from the younger boy's hands. He gazes at it in awe, his fingers delicately tracing over the buttons. It's so much nicer than his old cheap one; he's almost too scared to be holding it.

"Try it out," Jungkook suggests, standing to his full height and shrugging his backpack on again.

Taehyung turns it on, concluding Jungkook must've charged it ahead of time for it to be full bars. He raises it upward, closing one eyes to look through the hole as he skimmed the trees overhead, a quiet "wow" leaving his lips when the sun shone through the branches at the perfect times. He snaps the image, then continues his circle whilst looking through the lense.

He pauses when Jungkook's face is suddenly in front of him. Instead of being shy at the camera on him, Jungkook goes straight to aegyo.

Taehyung almost forgets to take the picture after being startled from the cuteness. He captures it at the right moment, lucky for him, and he doesn't realize he's giggling until he hears Jungkook grumbles, "I hate aegyo."

"But you're so cute," Taehyung blurts, too busy staring at the picture he just took to fully process what escaped his lips. When he does, his cheeks burn and he's on the verge of running away again.

"So you do think I'm cute," Jungkook says, a grin that's too proud on his lips. "Go on." Suddenly, he's taking Taehyung's camera back, raising it. "You're turn."

Taehyung blushes. "N-no. My camera, m-my pictures."

"My money," Jungkook taunts, teasingly raising his eyebrows.

Taehyung immediately feels guilty again, though, and sighs heavily. It takes two deep breaths, one more encouragement from Jungkook, then he's blanking out and thinking about being in a room alone so he could cry over this moment from humiliation.

And yet, all of his courage comes together and he manages a split second of aegyo before sinking to his knees, covering his face.

However, Jungkook's light laugh and quiet, "So cute," makes Taehyung feel a little better about the situation.

"Now." Jungkook looks down at him with an amused grin, holding his hand out to help Taehyung back out. He timidly takes it while Jungkook says, "Let's go get that coffee."
