Do you know what the caged bird sings?Z
       Why, despite it's clipped wings,
           The caged bird dances
       And raises its little head to the Heavens
   And lets its beautiful voice rise.
Is it happy or sad?

I think....

The caged bird's songs are bittersweet.

                          Do you know why the caged bird sings?
                 With its hope alive when that cage opens just a bit?
                      Whenever the sun slithers through the creases of its feathers.
                            It's tune morphs into a cheery one a tad bit more.

I think....

I understand just a little bit.

Do you know why the caged bird sings?
     Because, it knows its cage won't last forever.
            It's wings won't stay clipped for long.
    The caged bird's hopes are in the Lord and it knows 
God is coming back some day.

And so...

The caged bird sings and dances in praise,

Because the Savior is near.
