Step Number Ten: Now, Dance

Zane was holding him in an embrace one more time. For the last time, actually.

It was the last performance of their album, six months since the start of everything. Of course, they still might dance together on the tours but, for now, Chase knew that he has to cherish the feeling of being attached to Zane.

After the last dance practice in the studio, the two of them kissed here and there, whenever they were hidden from the team members.

Everything about the album was a hit. Chase was still the number one idol and his songs hit the top in a matter of days. Zane became more popular, his dance skills entrancing people all around the world. And on top of that, their dance together hit the world like they'd expected.

The fans went crazy. They still couldn't believe it and after explaining everything and the idea of the collaboration, it only made it worse.

Chase and Zane were a dream come true for so many fans before they even realized it and even if that wasn't the goal, the singer couldn't help but feel giddy that so many people supported the idea of them being something in real life. Even if they weren't.

Snapping back to reality when the fans screamed, Chase focused on Zane's face as they closed in, smiling cheekily away from the camera.

What are you doing? Chase asked as an expression.

Just making things spicy for the fans, was the return expression before Zane made his way out of the stage along with the other background dancers.

The night was still young but it was the last piece of Chase's songs at the mini concert. It was now time to say good bye to his fans.

"Well then, my wonderful people!"

The screams were deafening.

"Unfortunately, we've come to the last speech of the night."

They whined and threw a slow tantrum even though they knew it wasn't going to change anything.

"I love you guys so much." More screams. "And it breaks my heart that I won't be seeing you until my next concerts, but, you won't be bored. I'll be making new songs whenever I feel like it. You guys, you know what? You guys recommend themes to me. What kind of song should I write next?"

There was so many screams and suggestions, Chase was thankful he found a words out of it.

"Love songs? Really? I've written a few love songs, as you guys know and the only one that really satisfied me was Wonder Tonight."

The fans screamed in overjoy. They were waving their hands crazy, their phones all out and bright.

"On the note of love..." the fans went wild. "No, no, I'm not going out... yet." Chase chuckled at the fans' reaction. "But, I just wanted to tell you guys that love is," he took a deep breath to calm himself. He was sweating all over and the adrenaline rush still ran through his body. "Love is something so precious. Don't let anyone say otherwise and if they do... if they're in the way of it, then just, knock 'em off.

"You'll only love on the lucky days and if you find that love, then hold on to it very tightly. It's not going to wait for you. And only rarely are they ever going to come back. Some of you might've even experienced it first hand. Anyone here with the luck of having the one you love with you?!"

The concert hall filled with yeses.

"Lucky you."

They cooed next.

"Alright, so I'm going to let you guys in on one thing. It's top secret and I'd like it if you guys don't tell anyone other than my fans."

It was a joke and the fans understood, laughing along with him. He was standing on the middle stage now. Walking around, watching the fans' reaction really lit his day.

"The Rain Ent's going to kill me for this but whatever. I'll let my fans know that I'm a guy as well and I have a heart."

The crowd went wild.

"I loved someone before as well."

Chase had his earpiece out. He really wanted to connect with the crowd but the reaction was out of the world. He almost lost his hearing.

"And, it didn't go as I wished it to."

The audience awed, cooing and muttering apologies.

"But, I want you guys to never make the same mistake. If you have that inner feeling, that it feels right when you're with that someone, then go for it." He paused and then changed the topic. "Now, on more serious matters, who was shocked at the performance of Zane Page?!"

The screams erupted again and the mood was changed all of a sudden.

"He was awesome wasn't he?! Yes, and if you want to see more of him, that's on your watch guys. Get the word out there and Mark, yes you- Mark, you'll consider it, right?"

Chase couldn't see the man, mostly because he wasn't even there. But, he couldn't care less.

Saying the last good byes and thank you, Chase left the stage fast, ignoring JD's shouts over the noises.

He made his way through the backstage, swishing past everyone, searching for that one familiar face. And finally, he found him, standing near the fridges, chatting with another dancer.

When Zane saw the singer walk up to him, he straightened up and cleared his throat.

"I heard your—"

"I love you." They both went silent. The dancer nearby left them for some privacy and Chase finally started to talk again, even if he felt like his heart was going to jump out. "Ever since seventh grade and I know... I know I'm made some shitty decisions but I'd really like a second chance at showing you how I feel. I'll make it up to you for ignoring you and leaving you hanging when you actually helped me... a lot... in more ways than you think and—"

"Just kiss me."

"Okay- wait, what?"

"You heard, didn't you?" Zane took a step forward. "Or did you forget?" He pulled them together, folding them as one. Leaning closer, he muttered under his breath, "should I show you?"

"Um... yeah... that would be... t-that would do better—" and they were kissing, again.

This time, with no hiding and just, pure love.

The End.
