Dance

Hey there! As mentioned in the summary, I don't own any photos and all rights go to their rightful owners and creators. Don't have a clue where I got the image seen above but I assume I probably screenshotted it somewhere on the internet or from the manga No.6. All rights go to the manga creator or who made the picture and I'm just borrowing it to show to the wonderful readers!

Look back on this I realize that I should probably have made Nezumi a rat but I'm a little too lazy to change that.

Hope you enjoy the story, yours truly ~ Hayate

Dance

The Snake and the Flower danced,

Precariously tiptoeing on the edge.

Teetering uncertainty,

The natural Flower

To blinded by his silliness, could not feel the danger.

But the cunning snake was all too aware.

As they waltzed at the top of a cliff he wondered if they'd fall.

The Flower pulled the Snake forward,

So they could see the great expanse of nothingness below.

Sensing danger the sharp Snake tries to pull away,

Wanting to let the Flower keep it's petals untainted with grim

Tries to pull him along with him.

But the Flower only digs it's roots deeper into the Snake. Twisting and grinding them under the scales without permission.

But the Flower just smiles, no matter how hard the Snake may struggle.

As the blooming Aster tugs the Snake along in the dance, he draws closer to the void.

The Snake struggles to keep up and the roots that had dug into him, deeper than the skin, weighed him down.

Yet at the same time, when he finally gave in and followed the shining plant's lead, did he feel the pressure release itself.

Instead, he felt like he was gliding on air.

Then a sharp noise filled the air, the Snake looked down.

The cliff edge was barely over his body, he recoiled instinctively. But something held him.

Ah, yes, the entangling ivy, the Snake thought.

Grasping the delicate Flower he pulled him back with himself to solid ground.

As the Flower hit the rocky dirt once more it's roots firmly planted themselves into the ground. The leaves caressed the Snake as he felt the others feelings of fear.

But the Snake felt the roots just dig into him deeper as warmth for the other creature boiled inside of him.

He pulled away.

Even when his body screamed in pain from the ripping sensation. He jerked, rolled, an' snapped at the bonds with fangs. Taking the lines that tied him down in his jaws, with one fell swoop he crushed them all.

The Flower seemed to wilt before him,

Withering as the Snake pulled back.

Ignoring the throbbing pain he felt,

In his stomach and most of all his chest,

The Snake slithered forth, decided that he would maybe choose a different date to dance with the shriveled Aster.

This Flower has become my bane, his poison has seeped into me, though the Snake.

The Snake is percolating with an expectant enthusiasm for their next meeting. Not realizing it the sly Snake smiles un-wryly, with no hidden malice or malicious intent.

For once this conniving Snake feels more than the cold lust for his prey.

The Flower's venom might just have been the Snake's remedy.
