Chapter 9

I was stunned. I couldn't wrap my mind around it.

"And my sister?" I asked after minutes of silence.

"I don't know man, she wasn't your biological sister." He answered seeing that it crushed my soul.

"Hey," He started and kneeled down beside me. "She's always gonna be your sister alright. I ain't tryin to take away what Alex was to you." He had a look in his eyes that was rare to be seen in the eyes of Dallas Winston.

"I know." I whispered softly under my breath.

"I just had to find you, and then you I saw what shit your parents were putting you through. I couldn't leave you man. And then it just got harder for me to tell ya." He confessed.

"Where's our dad?" The question rolled off my tongue although the words seemed foreign to me.

"He lives in Connecticut. I haven't talked to him since I left New York. I asked him how I could find you, and then that was it." He shrugged as if it meant nothing to him that our father didn't want us.

"Did He day anything else?"

"Yeah he tried to apologize but I don't know..." he trailed off.

I nodded my head. I'm not sure why, just did. I still couldn't believe it. "Do the guys know?"

"Nah man, pretty sure Sodapop thinks I got the hots for you. He looks like he's ready to sock me every time I look at ya." He laughed at the idea of Soda trying to fight him.

"Why would he care?" I questioned anxious for the answer.

"Oh please, he's totally crazy about you. It's kinda disgusting but I don't know he's a pretty good guy."

Butterflies multiplied in my stomach at his response. I grinned like an idiot, when Dallas saw this he chuckled and rolled his eyes.

"Good to see you don't feel the same way." He responded sarcastically.

"I'm your sister." I stated randomly and laughed at myself. I was still confused at what was happening. "I'm your sister." I repeated.

"Yeah you are." He grinned.

"Get the guys in here and let's tell them!" I was excited, Dallas was my brother. As strange as it is, I was really happy.

The boys walked in and immediately thought there was something wrong. I calmed them down and repeatedly told them I was fine until they believed me.

"Guys, there's something Dally and I need to tell you." Ponyboy glanced at Soda and then back at me.

I looked at Dally signaling for him to tell the story. "Alright you guys know I moved down here cause I was lookin for someone, that someone was Ella." They all got wide eyed as the confusion set in. "Ella's my twin sister."

"What? Twins?" They all started spouting out different questions. But the nurse interrupted us.

"I need to give you your medicine and then your legal guardian can sign you out. It says you live with your parents so it needs to be one of them." I looked at Darry for help and he was staring at me with worry and concern in his eyes.

"I can sign her out, I'm her brother and I'm 18." Dallas said calmly to the nurse. The nurse handed him the forms and time the medicine and then left.

I chuckled to myself.

"What?" Steve asked referring to my laugh.

"I don't know. Life's weird."

"Why do you say that?" Two-but questioned.

"Because, I'm not living with my parents. My dad freaking stabbed me. Not only do I have a twin brother, but it's Dallas Winston! I don't have a job for the first time in 9 years. Im living with a guy I'm falling in love with-" I tried to stop my loud mouth but it was too late.

"You're what?" Soda questioned with wide eyes.

I tried to speak but I couldn't. I was empty. I couldn't move, I just kept my mouth open and eyes on Soda. 'Say something!' I commanded myself.

"Shit." Was all that spilled from my mouth.
