"Phil," Dan mumbled, shifting his unusually heavy school bag's weight from one shoulder to another. "I need a place to stay."

"Why?" Phil immediately asked, suspiciously studying his best friend for any signs of reason.

"My mum and dad told me that I couldn't come home until the weekend whilst they," Dan lifted his hands up and gestured some quotation marks. "Discuss," He dropped his arms to his side again, frowning. "What to do with me."

"What to do with you? Are you in trouble? Did you do something bad?"

"No, of course not! I just told them something." Dan put his hands into his pockets, avoiding Phil's gaze.

"What did you tell them?"

"I can't tell you! Then you won't let me stay with you!" Dan half heartedly chuckled, smiling softly.

"Okay.. Just until the weekend?"

"Yeah." Dan debated his options before wrapping his arms around his friend. "Thank you.. you're the bestest friend ever."

"I know."

Friday soon came along and Dan's heart was racing; he was so nervous to go home and see his parents again. "Bye Phil.." Dan muttered, sadly reaching out to open his front door.

"Wait, before you go.. if you ever need me, I'm only a call away. You can speak to me." Phil smiled softly, hoping that Dan could tell he was telling the truth.

"I'm gay." Dan blurted out and Phil felt tears fill his eyes.

"Was that what they were discussing?" He responded, wrapping his arms around his friend. Dan could only nod as he buried his head in Phil's chest, suddenly having the urge to cry. "It's okay, Dan. They love you, they won't do anything drastic just because you're gay."

"They don't love me." Dan whispered, his voice half muffled by Phil's chest.

"They do love you, of course they do."

"Can you walk in with me? I'm scared."

"Of course I will." Dan backed up slightly before smiling as Phil slipped his hand into Dan's. "Here we go."

Dan then reached up and pushed open the door. "Mum, dad! I'm home!" Dan yelled, his voice cracking due to the anxiety in his chest.

"Dan! You're home!" Dan's parents practically ran into the room, frowns on their faces. "We've discussed your.. sexuality and we just want to let you know that we're sorry, we really are. We love you so much." Dan smiled softly, turning to look at Phil who was smirking slightly.

"I told you." Phil whispered to which Dan shook his head at.

Fun fact: I actually haven't written a one shot in months. All of the ones I've posted recently were drafts from like a year ago because I've been busy and had no inspiration haha love me
