A cynical lawyer, yet to repay his debt for his mortal life, had he been punished for his misdeed. Being expel to another world, or another time to be precise, brought with him all his remorsefulness for a person, karma led him to another more cunning being, a Phoenix (Feng Hoang as Phoenix in Chinese)

Feng Hoang before was known as Xiao Feng Hoang ( Little Phoenix). His life was once full of naivety and serenity, but life is suffering, tragic happened and a child once was innocuous became cynical and narcissistic. With a little trait of human left, he was then a heartless monster a manipulator.

Xiao Feng Hoang turned to Feng Hoang then met the love of his life but was too foolish to notice his feeling. And then out of his own cruelty and self-righteous, he became the reason for the death of not only a wonderous person but his lover also. Feng Hoang lost control, lost his mind over his mistake, compensated by the bitterness of time, had to risk his own life to bring his love back. Yet again waited for another 6 years for him to returned and one year for him to love Feng Hoang back.

My Feeling: It's not really a tragedy, yet have some really sad detail in it that might just make you cry. the first time I read the thing I was really impatience because of its length, but when I have the stamina to read it, I could never forget the imagery of the great Imperial China, the tranquility of the floating flower in the air, the sense of glamor in the Chinese's spring. The effort that the author put in the descriptive detail here is just amazing.

And if you're the person who really likes mind-blowing story this might just be it, the plot has a lot of knots and secrets. It really did a good job of portraying the China way of cunning, the strategic schemes of getting the golden throne, the way that people just downright backstabbing each other is glorious.

And the video I put on top was not just for show. This song and the image is an absolutely perfect picture for the story, the way that the person stand forlornly under the rain and the smooth flute sound just carry away show what both of the people in the story have to suffer, they both cynical, they both lose faith in the world, they are both a lonely soul, they both inadvertently fall for each other, yet they still kept their secret from each other, acting like they do not need anyone but themselves, they let their ego surpassed their desire, until it became too late.
