Damian's Pov

'Ugh...if I have to spend one more second here I am going to RIP my hair out.' I thought to myself. We were in math class right now and it was only 8:20. Great...I get to spend another 40 minutes in this class. I look over to the girl beside me. Rachel. She's been running through my mind a lot lately.
I couldn't stop thinking about her what she had told him yesterday. "People don't really see me as normal. They we me as a freak. Like I'm some kind of monster to them." He felt kind of bad for Rachel.

He knew she was shy and that she didn't have any friends. She was lonely and needed some one to be there to support her. 'Wait
...since when do I care about Rachel?Oh well....I guess it couldn't hurt to be nice.' She looked over towards me. I blinked and noticed that I had still be staring at her."What?" she asked me. "N-nothing" I stammered. I turned my attention back to the board on front of me. The teacher was making us take down more notes. 'Because what else do I have to live for?' Finally the next bell rang. Everyone got up and grabbed their books.

I walked out of the classroom and went to my locker. I put my math book away and grabbed my English book. Here we go again. I closed my locker and looked around and saw Rachel. There was a guy walking towards her. Rachel was at her locker and she was taking her English book out. He turned her around and started talking to her. I couldn't hear what was being said. Rachel was glaring at the boy.

Suddenly the guy had smacked her book out of her hands and onto the floor. This made me furious. Who did he think he was? I walked towards them. When I got there I glared at the boy and grabbed him by his shirt. "Who are you and what do you think you're doing?" I hissed at him. Everyone's attention seemed to be pointed at us now. The boy just stared at me with wide eyes. He looked terrified. This satisfied me a bit. "I- I'm s-sorry." he said stammering. I'm pulled him closer to me. "The next time you do anything to harm her you will be sorry."

"Do you understand?" I seethed through my teeth. He nodded. I let him go and he ran away quickly. I turned to Rachel. "You ok?" I asked. "Yeah...I'm fine..b-but." she said. "What?" I asked confused. "Why
....why did you do that?" she asked me.
"Because...he shouldn't have been messing with you." I said simply. "T-thanks." she gave me a little smile. "No problem." I slightly smiled back.

I helped her pick up her book and we walked to the next class.

Rachel's Pov

It was now lunch time. I was still thinking about what had happened earlier. Damian had stuck up for me. But why? I didn't deserve kindness. I'm evil. I'm meant to do bad things. I'm half demon for crying out loud. But it's not like he knew that. And it isn't like I planned on telling him that either. I walked towards the lunchroom.

After waiting in line I grabbed a tray and picked out the food I wanted. I felt a familiar presence near me. It was Damian. "Hey" he said. "M-me?" I asked confused. He slightly chuckled. "Yeah." he shook his head. "Who else would I be talking to?" I shrugged my shoulders. "Why would you be talking to me?" I asked. "Why wouldn't I?" he asked with one eyebrow raised. "I told you why. A person like you shouldn't be hanging out with someone like me"
I said sadly. "And why not?" he asked.
"Because...you're popular..I'm not."
I told him. "So?" he asked. 'What? Did he really just say so?!'   I was about to pay the lunch lady but Damian pushed my hand arm down. Before I could protest he payed for our lunch and walked off.  I ran after him.

"Damian...why'd you do that? I could have payed for it on my own" I said getting a little angry. "Ever heard of a friendly gesture? It wouldn't kill you to say thanks."was his response. "Gee...thanks Damian." I said sarcastically. "See? That didn't kill you did it?" he said in the same sarcastic tone as mine. He walked towards the table his friends were sitting at. I paused and stopped walking.  He raised an eyebrow at me. "Aren't you coming?" he asked me. I raised my eyebrows in shock. "You want me to sit with you guys?" I asked. "Yeah...why not?" "Nothing..I just..thought.."  "Thought what?" he said with a confused expression on his face.

"Nothing"I continued walking with him towards his table. "Hey Rachel" Garfield and Jaime both greeted me. "Hi" I said before taking a seat.

Damon's Pov

I took a seat next to Rachel. I had forgot to ask Alfred to make me a lunch today. I hated the food here...but I guess I have no other choice. I looked at the food on my tray and cringed. I poked at my mashed potatoes with my fork. "What's wrong dude?" Logan asked me. "Nothing. Just not really hungry I guess." I said while making a face. "So do you want your pizza?" Jaime elbowed him in his side. "Ouch!" he yelled. I heard Rachel giggling. She had a pretty smile. 'Wait..what..where did that come from? I don't like Rachel....I don't like anyone.' 

I looked down at my plate. "Sure...whatever...I sure don't want it" I said staid gagging. "Yum!" I rolled my eyes. 'How can people eat that garbage?'  I got up and put my tray away. Soon after everyone else did the same. "Welp..its time for gym" Jaime said. Rachel sighed. Guess she didn't like P.E. We all walked to our lockers to get our gym clothes.

P.E. was the pretty much the same as always. A few girls flirted with me and we played a couple of rounds of volleyball. Rachel, Jaime, Garfield, and I were both on the same team. And, of course, we won. In science class we all pretty much just talked amongst ourselves since everyone finished their work early. Rachel didn't really talk much. She mostly just sat there staring at the clock and waiting for school to be over with. Finally it 3:30 p.m. and it was time to get out of school. Soon Alfred came and picked me up in the limo. I was pretty hungry when I got home since I hadn't eaten earlier so I decided to grab a snack. When I was done eating I went to my room to do my homework. I sighed. 'Great...I get to experience another great day at school tomorrow'  I thought sarcastically. This was torture.

Ok so that is the end of this chapter and i hope you all enjoyed it. It will probably take a minute for an to update because I'm trying to juggle between two different stories..but don't worry, they will get completed. Thanks again for reading my books.
