Raven's Nightmare
Not a Couple
Raven opened her amethyst eyes to see that she was in the heart of Jump City. She almost screamed when she saw Kori at her feet with her arm ripped out of her socket.
Raven put a hand over her mouth and backed away from the mutilated alien, only to catch sight of Jaime a few feet away, his alien armor forcibly ripped from his spine with his entire back still attached to it.
Raven almost threw up and looked horrified to see Garfield not too far away. His leg had been torn out and he had been stabbed in the stomach.
Raven caught glimpses of parts of Cyborg all over the place. But wait, where was Damian?
She saw a shadowy figure in the distance. Without thinking, Raven quickly ran to it. As she got closer, she really did scream.
It was a human-sized version of her father, holding a knife to Damian's neck. The latter was struggling profusely, trying to get out of Trigon's grip.
"No!" Raven cried. "Please don't!"
The figure mockingly laughed at her. "Foolish child," he sneared. "I told you I would make your friends suffer."
"Don't hurt him!" Raven pleaded. "Leave him alone!" Tears streamed down her face.
Trigon simply ignored her and sliced the knife through Damian's neck, disembodying his head.
"NO!" Raven cried.
Raven gasped, sitting up in bed. Sweat trailed down her forehead and she gasped heavily. Tears were still trailing down her face from the dream.
Raven heard a knock on her door. "Raven?" came the concerned voice of Damian.
Raven sighed in relief; he was alive.
"Raven, are you okay?" Damian asked through the door.
"I'm fine Damian," the empath assured, trying to mask her fear.
"I don't believe you," Damian responded. "Can I come in?"
"If you want."
Damian entered her room and his eyes widened in shock. Never had he seen Raven so vulnerbale. "Raven," he whispered. "What happened?"
Raven began to sob. Just the thought of being alone again terrified her. "H-he...k-kiled...y-you...all!" she choked out in between tears.
"Trigon?"
Not trusting herself to speak, the half-demon nodded.
After a few seconds, Damian pulled Raven into a hug, holding her tightly against his chest. The empath wrapped her arms around his torso and sobbed. The former assassin held stroked her raven hair, muttering words of comfort.
After a while, Raven seemed to calm down and (reluctantly) pulled away from the hug. "How did you know?" she asked.
Damian looked at her and smirked. "Our bond," he answered.
"Oh."
Silence swept over them. Ot wasn't too awkward, yet it wasn't completely comfortable. This silence was in between.
"Damian?" Raven spoke quietly.
"Yes Raven?" replied Damian.
"Will you...?" Raven's voiced cracked slightly. The empath quickly cleared her throat. "Will you stay here with me?"
The green-eyed boy smiled softly at her. "Sure," he answered. He climbed into the bed next to her and laid down. Raven did the same.
For some reason, the half-demon felt at peace with Damian next to her. His very presence seemed to calm her down.
Knowing he was next to her, Raven peacefully fell asleep. Damian looked at her, love evident in his eyes. He brushed a few raven locks out of her face and gently kissed her cheek. The son of Batman then proceeded to wrap his arms around her waist, pulling her closer.
Damian kissed her forhead. "Goodnight, Beloved," he whispered.
