Not a Couple

"All right!" Garfield shouted as he entered the common room, a bag in his hands. "It's Movie Night!"

Raven, who had been calmly reading promptly glared at him. "Do you have to disturb the peace every time you walk into a room?" she asked, thoroughly annoyed. The empath got up from her spot from the couch, slightly disappointing Damian who was sitting next to her. "I'm going to my room."

"Oh, come on Rae," the green skinned boy pleaded. "It's Movie Night!" he repeated. "You have to watch!"

Jaime clasped his hands together. "Please Rae!" he added.

Raven glared at the chengeling again. "Don't call me Rae," she snapped, then turned to the older teen. "Jaime, you can call me Rae."

Jaime smirked victoriously. "Ha!"

Garfield crossed his arms over his chest. "Not fair!" he protested, then quickly put the grin back on his face. "Raven, if you don't agree to watch this movie, I'm gonna tell Kori!"

"Tt," Damian scoffed, deciding to put his input in the conversation. "What does Koriand'r have to do with this?"

Garfield and Jaime shared a smirk while Cybord turned his attention to the two birds. "Another one of her mandatory "team bonding" activities," he informed them.

Raven turned to the metal man. "How'd she suck you into this?" she inquired, arching an eyebrow.

It was Cyborg's turn to smirk. "She didn't," he answered. "I have a mission with the League tonight, I'm just finishing off a few things here."

"Lucky," Damian muttered under his breath, making the half-demon beside him stifle a laugh.

Raven turned her attention back towards the greenette boy. "And Kori let you pick the movie?" she asked indecorously.

"Yes I did."

Everyone in the room turned towards the alien princess, who glared at Raven and Damian. "Yes, you two have to watch the movie," she commanded.

Both birds just crossed their arms and glanced at each other. I'll watch if you do, Damian told Raven through their bond.

Raven shrugged. Whatever, she replied. It's not like Kori is giving us a choice.

Tt, Damian mentally scoffed. She can't make me do anything.

"They're doing it again!" Garfield whined.

"Doing what?" Jaime asked.

"That freaky telepathy thingy!" answered the changeling.

Raven, for what felt like the hundredth time that day, glared at Garfield. "Shut it," she snapped, making said changeling morph into a rat and scurry away.

Kori sighed, exasperated with her team. "Unfortunately, I will not be able to join you four tonight," she explained. "I...have plans."

Raven once again arched her eyebrow. "Plans?" she repeated.

Beside her, Damian smirked. "A date with Nightwing no doubt," he taunted.

Kori actually blushed. "What I am doing tonight is none of your business," she snapped. "And Garfield if you don't morph back right now, I'll only order meat-lover's pizza from now on."

A very scared-sounding squeak was heard as Garfield suddenly appeared in front of everyone, looking terrified.

Damian smirked. Looks like the princess finally got some backbone, he told Raven who laughed, lightly swatting him on the arm.

Jaime suddenly scowled. "Can we just put the damn movie in?" he asked irritably.

Of course, Raven thought bitterly. It had to be a scary movie. Not that Raven was scared, she just didn't like horror movies. She had seen much worse things in her life than these fake props; it was as if they were mocking her existence.

Judging by Damian's narrowed eyes, he felt similar to how she did. Are they trying to mock me? he asked Raven.

Raven gave him an empathetic glance. I can't stand it either, she agreed. I'll bet you most of these actors have never even seen someone killed. It's all offensively fake.

Suddenly an idea popped into Damian's head and a smirk slipped onto his face. Why don't you transport us out of here? he suggested.

Raven looked at him with an arched eyebrow, slight amusement dancing on her face. What about Kori? she asked.

Damian rolled his eyes. Tt, he scoffed. She's out with Nighwing. And you really think those two idiots will even notice we're gone?

It was true; Garfield and Jaime were very engrossed in the movie; eyes twitching, hands shaking, etc.

That's true, Raven agreed. Hang on. Damian quickly took hold of Raven's shoulders as she conjured a portal beneath them.

They emerged on the tower's roof, the night sky full of twinkling stars.

Raven's head snapped up to look at the stars above them, a slight smile on her face. Damian, who had been watching her was caught slightly off guard; Raven's smile was a rare sight, much like his own (besides the occasional smirk).

But the way her lips turned upwards, the light of the stars reflected off her amethyst eyes, the way the moon outlined her body, giving her an angelic glow; it was enough to make his breath hitch in his throat.

"It's beautiful," Raven commented.

"Yeah," Damian agreed, but he wasn't looking at the sky, he was looking at her.

Raven turned her head to face him and was shocked by all the emotion swirling in his emerald eyes. It was an emotion that no one had ever given her; not her father, not the monks of Azerath, not even her mother.

That's right. Lust teased.

Happiness giggled. It's love!

Just go and tell him you love him back! Bravery encouraged.

No, don't do that! Timid cried. It'll ruin your friendship and he won't like you anymore!

Hon, you SO want him! Lust claimed.

Choosing to ignore her emotions, Raven saw Damian smirking at her. "What?" she asked, stealing his catchphrase.

"You know you forgot to block your emotions, right?"

Raven's eyes widened. Usually, she put a block on her emotions to stop Damian from hearing them. Raven had to reset the block every hour and the last time she had reset it was before they watched the movie. God damn it Lust! You too Happiness!

So, Damian began slyly inching towards her. You want me, huh?

Raven's cheeks became only a few shades lighter than Kori's hair. "I," she choked out, then glared at Damian. "Have you and lust been talking behind my back?!"

Damian chuckled at her. Taking a shot in the dark so to speak, he placed his hands on Raven's waist, placing his lips on hers. Raven was shocked at first, but gradually began to kiss back.
