Dating (Protégé AU)
Though Celeste was technically not theirs, Damian and Raven loved her like their own daughter. So naturally, they were both very protective of her.
It was no secret that Celetse was very beautiful (obviously from her mother). It was also no secret that she got a lot of attention from boys because of this. Fortunately for them, Celeste hadn't shown any interest in boys.
At least, not until she hit fifteen.
Celeste made her way down to the Batcave one rainy Thursday. Her brother was sitting in front of the computer, his eyes trained on the screen. "Hi Damian," she greeted.
"What is it, Celeste?" Damian asked, his eyes trained on the screen.
Celeste pouted. "I just wanted to see what you were doing."
Damian sighed and turned around to face her. "Apologies. I'm working on a case concerning Poison Ivy."
"Can I help?" Celeste asked.
"Maybe next time," Damian decided, turning back to the screen.
Celeste nodded. "Okay." She stood in her place, not speaking until finally, "Damian?"
"Yes?"
Celeste took in a deep breath. Here goes nothing. "Can I go on a date tomorrow night?"
Damian froze as his teeth clenched. No, dammit, no! No boy was good enough for his baby sister. This couldn't be happening. "With who?" he demanded.
"Rex," Celeste answered.
Rex Stewart. That no good half-breed hawk. The nerve of that boy, asking his sister on a date. "No," Damian snapped.
Celeste's eyes narrowed. "Why not?" she demanded.
"You're not allowed to date," Damian insisted.
Celeste turned on her heel. "I'm gonna go ask Raven," she threatened.
Damian smirked. "Go ahead," he said smugly. "She's going to say no."
OoOoOo
"Raven?"
Raven looked up from her book and smiled at the young girl. "Yes, Celeste?"
Celeste looked hopeful. "Can I go on a date tomorrow night?"
Raven thought about this and shrugged. "Sure," she agreed.
Celeste beamed and kissed Raven on the cheek. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" She ran upstairs. "I'm gonna go pick out my outfit!"
"Raven," said Damian from the doorway. "Please tell me you did not just tell her that she could go out with that hawk."
Raven nodded. "Okay. I did not tell her that she could go on a date with that hawk."
Damian groaned. "Beloved, I'm being serious. Celeste is too young to date."
Raven raised an eyebrow. "But we got together at fifteen," she pointed out.
"That's different," Damian argued.
"How so?" Raven challenged.
"It just is, alright?" Damian insisted. He was going to have to make some calls.
OoOoOo
Damian set up communications with Dick, Jason, and Tim via the Batcave computer.
"Hey, Little D!" Dick greeted.
Jason groaned. "What the hell do you want?"
Tim scowled. "What is it, Hell Spawn?"
Damian glared at them. "It's about Celeste," he informed them.
Tim's expression immediately changed. "What's wrong?" he demanded. "Is she okay? Hell Spawn, I swear to god is she's hurt so help me..."
"I am a perfectly suitable guardian, Drake," Damian growled. They'd been having that fight for years. "Celeste is fine. I called because she has a date tomorrow night."
All hell broke loose.
"A date!? No way in hell! She's too young to date!"
"That is so not happening!"
"Who is the little bastard? I'll break his legs!"
"We're coming over!" shouted Dick before Damian could say anything.
OoOoOo
Unfortunately for them, Celeste was too smart. She had insisted that she meet Rex at the theater instead of picking her up. But Damian had a plan.
"You know that she's gonna hate us for this, right?" asked Jason.
"Who?" Tim asked. "Celeste or Raven?"
"Both," Dick answered.
"Shut it," hissed Damian. "Neither of them are going to find out." He paused. "Unless we have to kick Stewart's ass in front of her. Then Celste will certainly see us." He groaned. "Just suit up and we'll go."
They were just about to leave when...
"What the hell are you four doing?"
Damian froze. "Nothing, Beloved," he lied. "Just getting ready for patrol."
Raven's eyes narrowed. "The four of you are going out on patrol?" she asked suspiciously. "Together?"
"He needs our help with a really tough case," Dick told her.
Raven stared at them a moment more. "Well, alright then," she said. "Be safe."
OoOoOo
Damian, Dick, Jason, and Tim watched from the roof of a building as Rex and Celeste walked into the movie theater. "He's holding her hand," Damian growled. Stupid no good hawk. Thinks he can make a move on his sister.
"Can I castrate him?" asked Jason.
"Ugh!" groaned Tim. "I can't see them anymore. They're in the theater."
"What if he tries to kiss her?" asked Dick frantically.
"Then I'll tear his arms off," threatened Damian and Jason at the same time.
Damian didn't know how to handle this. Celeste was his only younger sister and the fact that he practically raised her didn't help this scenario. Sometimes, he felt more like her father than her older brother. If this Rex boy did anything to hurt her he knew that he'd break him in two without hesitation.
Dick sighed. "Guys, we should just go," he suggested. "We can't see them while they're inside and if Raven finds out we were here, we're all dead."
Tim looked like he wanted to agrue. "But-!"
Dick cut him off. "But nothing. We need to trust that Celetse knows what she's doing and can make her own decisions."
"Fine," Damian agreed begrudgingly. "But if that boy laid a finger where it doesn't belong, I will make him pay."
OoOoOo
"How was patrol?" asked Raven as soon as Damian entered the manor.
Damian shrugged. "It was alright," he lied. "A couple of thugs here and there, but nothing special."
Raven kissed his cheek. "That's good," she said. "Celeste got home from her date about half an hour ago. She really had fun." She took his hand in hers. "Thank you for not ruining this for her."
Damian smiled and was about to repsond when...
"They what!?" screeched Celeste from upstairs, followed by the sound of a wall being punched in. She stomped down the stairs angrily. "Damian! You guys spied on me?!"
Raven looked at him, enraged. "DAMIAN THOMAS WAYNE!"
Damian narrowed his eyes. "Who told?"
