Well this is a surprise. I didn't expect to be updating this book again any time soon. But, I finally have something to talk about. That's because in today's issue of Dark Nights Metal we got an anthology story that features Damian and Emiko on the same team working together.

I was surprised to see this. Considering how things were in Dark Nights Metal The Last Stories of the DC Universe.

But you know what. I'm glad to see this.

This is set after that other issue so while we never got to see the recruiting process that raven did to recruit this team. I'm just glad to be seeing these characters all work together. Plus there's the added benefit of no Crush, Roundhouse, and Djinn. (I'll add Wallace to that too since he is busy working with the speedsters). You know this roster of Raven, Damian, Emiko, Aqualad, Beast Boy, and Starfire would make for an amazing Titans book. Plus, I like seeing Damian work with the majority of his old team with the addition of Emiko from his previous team. While I would have liked to have seen the moment where him and Emiko make amends. I'm just glad to see this roster working together again.  They don't really interact but the fact that they're on the same team again is a good sign.

Plot:

So this is primarily a raven centered storyline. But she recruited this team and they face off against various nightmare creatures and darker versions of themselves.

Now these darker versions have been infused with the power of Trigon's influence. So Raven has to pull together her strength and stop them.

I kind of wish this would have had more time. But this is a team whose stories I can really get behind. I think they'd make a great lineup and I just want to see more stories with them. Anyways, raven being the badass that she is finds the will to defeat these hellish versions of herself and to save her friends. Then the story just kind of ends there.

That's pretty much the story within this issue. But it was pretty entertaining. Although very brief.

Final Thoughts:
There's only one issue left of Dark Nights Death Metal and it comes out next week. I don't necessarily know what the future holds for dc but I am glad to be seeing characters start working together more. I'm not sure if Damian will work with Emiko again. (If he does can it please be with this team?) I just want them to still be friends who care for each other's well being. I'd be good with that. I just really didn't like how that teen titans book tried so hard to destroy everything good about Damian's character but now it seems that other writers have been slowly picking up the pieces and attempting to slowly fix the damage done. So hopefully next year brings us some good content. Anyways, I didn't think I'd be making this update today. I just wanted to say I hope all of you are doing well.
