Don't Fall

Imagine the feeling you get,

When the sky goes cloudy,

The moon shines through the night.

Everything twirls around you in a balance,

The wind howls.

The nightly animals lay down their growls.

The soaked ground,

Dampens your socks.

While the humongous mounds,

Stands tall with the rocks.

Climbing,

You rush to make the sunset,

Yet you're already staring at the stars.

Each step you take,

Does nothing to show the progression,

You're dying to make.

Don't fall,

You're close to its peak.

Don't fall,

The adventure you seek,

It's farther than it seems.

Sitting,

Waiting for the time to be right.

Yet,

Your wrong.

This climb has gone on far too long,

Your heart fills with ice,

As it lays on the frosted cliffs.

Too numb to know that you're falling.

Far too deep,

In the nightmares.

As they can only stare.
