Photo is your last look of Raphael until his book comes out.
Nearly a week later the Animals MC had a picnic, their brothers from Canada were returning home and Ty would be going with them for a few weeks. Ordinarily Zeke would go with him but he was still healing from the ordeal at the warehouse and Ty insisted he would be fine alone.
"I can't thank you all enough for coming when we were in trouble, or for helping the families and everyone get re-adjusted. I know it was a long haul and I appreciate it." Wolf said as he spoke to the large crowd of families and bikers.
Morgan stood off to the side with Jenny and Becky, the group of women seemed less lively now that Lacy was gone.
"I talked to Lacy last week," Morgan said.
"How is she?"
"Demon still hasn't spoken to her."
The trio glanced to where Demon was currently flirting with a large breasted red head, she leaned heavily against him and he laughed.
"How can he just walk away from her that easily?" Jenny asked.
"I don't know," Morgan said with a heavy sigh.
Zeke chose that moment to try and stand and instantly began to sway unsteadily on his feet, Becky saw Ty was talking to someone else a few yards away and hadn't noticed. She hurried over to Zeke and after a flippant debate he allowed her to help him.
"Do you think someone should talk to him? To Demon?" Jenny asked.
"Wolf tried but he just said it was over."
"He's being a dick," Jenny said bluntly.
"He's hurt, he's angry, I don't think he even realizes it."
The red head backed away from Demon pulling on his hand with a teasing smile. He followed her and Jenny shook her head in disgust.
He was laughing as the leggy red-head led him into the clubhouse and paused only to press her body intimately against his.
"Where's your room?" She asked.
"Third door on the left," He replied.
"Why don't you get us some drinks?" She asked.
"Okay."
She bit her lip and then turned and walked down the hallway, swaying her hips as she did so. He turned and headed straight for the bar, he was digging around behind the counter for some glasses when he heard someone clear his throat. Standing he saw Morgan.
"Looking for something?" She asked.
"Just a couple of glasses," He said roughly.
"Have you even tried to call Lacy?"
"No, why would I?"
"Don't give me that bullshit, you know why."
"It was just sex, nothing written in stone."
He walked around the bar, purposely bumping into Morgan on his way passed. He had a bottle of whiskey in one hand but she wasn't prepared to back down.
"Sex, is that what it was for you?" She asked.
"Yeah, maybe."
"Bull shit, she almost died for you. She betrayed everyone for you."
"She did it for you too!" He yelled, spinning around.
"Not like she did for you, she worships you. She would do anything you ask her too and you know that."
"So what do you want me to do? Give her a medal? She lied to me."
"She lied FOR you."
"So what?"
"Come on, you can't just deny that you have feelings for her," Morgan said.
"Maybe I did, but...that's not the point."
"Then what is the point? Tell me, why you won't just admit that maybe you're in love with her."
He grabbed a nearby chair and collapse into it at a small round table, Morgan eased into the other one, he poured a drink in both glasses and slid one to her before downing his own.
"I'm afraid to admit that I might love her," He said finally.
"Why?"
"Because I'm screwed up in the head, I get off on hurting people. What kind of boyfriend could I possibly be if every time I see her I want to choke her? I never stay in a relationship, it's too damn risky. What if I don't stop in time? What if someone finds out about us and they target her to get to me? Ivan and Laurel couldn't make it work, why in the hell would I be able to?"
"She's had sex with you, if she was afraid of you hurting her she wouldn't have. I don't think she's afraid."
"She should be and the lengths she went to, for me....I don't know if I could ever love anyone that much."
"For what it's worth, I think you already do."
He took a deep breath and stared at Morgan, she smiled before reaching over and gently laying a hand on top of his.
Amidst the celebration Jenny was the only one who saw Raphael slowly disappear and sneak to the back parking lot. She set down her beer and hurried after him, she caught him as he was walking towards his bike with his bag slung over his shoulder.
"You weren't even going to say goodbye?" She called out.
"I've never been good at those," He said with a laugh, turning to face her.
"You don't have to go, Wolf would gladly keep you on."
"I know and he offered but I'm not one to stick in one place very long."
"Off to bigger and better things?" She teased, walking closer.
"Probably not."
She took a few steps closer and leaned up to give him a kiss, he stepped away before she was able to do so. Her face flushed a deep pink color.
"I'm sorry, I thought...."She trailed off.
"Look, I like you Jenifer. I like you more than I should but I'm not the settling down kind, I don't do relationships and I think that's what you really need."
"Okay, friends then?" She asked.
"Absolutely, if I was going to settle down...it'd be with someone just like you."
She smiled and reached for a hug which he accepted before setting her gently away from him. Then he smiled and turned to load his bag onto his bike, she stepped back to watch but didn't protest or say another word.
He swung onto the seat of his bike and started it with a loud roar, he looked over at her one more time and she smiled back at him. He pulled out of the parking lot and headed down main street, she waited until he was gone before returning to the party.
Becky was sitting at a table next to Ty with Zeke seated on the other side, someone dancing bumped into him and he winced.
"Maybe I'll just go inside," He said.
"I can help you," Ty offered.
"I should be going with you to Canada."
"I'll only be gone a few weeks, it's a cake deal and I'll be fine."
"I should be going," Zeke said with a heavy sigh.
"No, I can do it. Trust me."
Shaking his head Zeke stood and swayed slightly unsteady, Becky surged to her feet to help but he made a motion for her to sit back down.
"I can manage to my bedroom," He said.
Becky eased back into her seat next to Ty who looked somber, she leaned over to place a hand on his shoulder.
"He means well, he loves you."
"I know but it's going to be hard enough to leave you let alone worrying about him."
"Don't worry about him, I'll check on him everyday rather he likes it or not."
"He won't like it but I appreciate it, I'm also worried about you."
"I'll be fine, I promise I'll stay safe and out of trouble until you're home."
"You never stay out of trouble," He teased.
"Well I'll try my best and I'll call you."
"Everyday, I'm serious."
"Okay, every day."
She laughed before leaning in and wrapping her arms around him for a tight hug. He returned it fully and when she pulled away he leaned in and kissed her. They'd kissed before, chaste kisses that were shared only a few times in their life and she always initiated them. This time was different, he cupped the back of her head with one hand to prevent her retreat and sealed his lips against hers.
To his surprise she only hesitated for a few seconds before she timidly kissed him back, not with as much enthusiasm as he was kissing her but she did respond slightly.
He pulled away first and smiled at her but she only looked confused.
"Ty...."
"Don't, we can talk about it when I get back."
She bit her lip and then slowly nodded in agreement, he smiled happily and slid his arm around her waist before turning back to the man across the table and striking up a conversation. Becky sat silent beside him for the remainder of the day.
When Jenny returned to the party she made her way to where Sky stood drinking a beer with a few of the newer members. He smiled as she approached.
"Where's your friend?" He asked.
"He's gone, he left."
"Without saying goodbye?"
"Why do you care? You hated him just a few days ago."
"Well I was wrong, we had a long talk and....he's not that bad."
Jenny rolled her eyes and took his beer from his hand, taking a drink.
"Come on Jenny it's not the first guy you liked that I've chased off," Sky pointed out.
"I don't think it was you this time."
"Remember when I told dad your prom date was a pimp?" He laughed.
"He's not your dad and that wasn't even close to funny."
"I do it cause I love you," He said.
"I know that's why I put up with the bull shit."
He laughed and took his beer back from her and she wandered off to find the other women.
