Chapter Nine.

If it works the photo is of Becky.

Morgan and Wolf lay in his bed, she was nestled against his side with his chin resting on top of her head. He dropped a kiss on her forehead and continued to stroke her arm.

"Do you think Zeke is going to be able to hold out a few more days?" She asked softly.

"I hope so, Ty and Becky were pretty shaken up when they came back yesterday."

"Becky hasn't left her room since they got back and Ty has been hitting the drinks pretty hard."

It had been five days since Becky and Ty returned from seeing Zeke. Ty immediately hitting the alcohol and spending his days drunk or passed out. Becky had tucked herself into her room and hadn't came out for anything but coffee and energy drinks.

"I know and I haven't seen Demon in awhile." Wolf said.

"Iris has been asking where Zeke is, I don't know what to tell her."

Wolf sighed, it upset him to think that the little girl was having a hard time dealing with all the changes.

"Tell her he'll be back and not to worry."

"She's been asking about Lacy and Demon too," Morgan turned to look up at him.

"I know it's hard, I wish I could tell you how to help her."

"She's only six, it's hard to explain it to her."

"I know."

Morgan fell silent and rested her head against his chest, Iris was sleeping peacefully in the room across the hall. She had adjusted to staying at the club the past few weeks and sleeping in a new room, she was now sleeping by herself.

"Do you think there's any chance we're wrong about Lacy?" She asked.

"I wish there was but it doesn't look like it."

"Why would she do that? To the club, to Demon?"

"I don't know, she told Demon she's in love with King."

"I don't believe that," Morgan said.

He shrugged but didn't reply and she fell silent as well, moments like this it was easy to forget about the war between the clubs. It was almost as if they were a normal couple, in love and happy.

"I love you," He said softly.

"I love you too."

"Do you think Demon will kill Lacy, if you ask him too?"

"I don't know, I hope I won't have too."

"I hope so too."

She rolled to glance at the clock beside the bed but he kept his arms around her. Kissing her shoulder. She sighed heavily seeing the later hour, it was nearly midnight.

"I should go over with Iris," She said.

"Is she having nightmares again?"

"No, but I know she's upset. I hate to leave her alone."

"You can bring her over with us, I don't mind."

She smiled up at him, running her fingers through his blonde hair. Pulling his head down so she could give him a slow kiss. When he pulled away he kissed the end of her nose.

"How did I ever get so lucky?" She asked softly.

"Trust me, I'm the lucky one. I don't know what I'd be if I didn't have you and Iris to look out for."

She wrapped her arms tightly around his torso nestling her head back against his chest, his hand stroking through her hair.

"I wish Iris hadn't been hurt and I wish nobody else was hurt but I can't help being grateful. If it wasn't for this war we might have never wound up here."

"I tried to push you away, I'm sorry."

"I didn't exactly welcome you with open arms, I was afraid of you."

"Even at my angriest moment, I never would have hurt you."

"I know."

She sighed heavily but didn't say anything else or move.

"You seem upset, what's wrong?"

"I just can't believe Lacy would do this, I can't believe she never said anything to me about any of it."

"She told Demon that she's in love," Wolf said.

"I know but....I always thought she was secretly in love with Demon."

"I think everyone thought that, it's part of why her switching sides is such a shock."

She smiled at him then sat up, climbing from the bed. She was wearing a t-shirt with the club logo on it and a gray pair of sweatpants. Since they'd began sharing a room Wolf had started sleeping in sweatpants and a shirt as well for cases when Iris joined them. He watched her stretch near and sat up as well.

"I'm going to go check on Becky and Iris," She said.

"You don't have to try and take care of everyone," He said softly.

"I know."

She exited the room and started towards the room that Becky was in, it was across the room from Ty and Zeke. She peeked into Ty's room first to see him passed out on his bed, sleeping deeply. She crossed the hall and saw the light was still on in Beckys room, she knocked twice before opening the door.

Becky sat cross legged on the floor, hundreds of papers and pictures littered the room, including covering the bed. There were soda and energy drink cans everywhere as well as paper coffee cups. She looked up at Morgan and her eyes had dark circles under them, her skin pale and bland, her hair greasy and limp and Morgan could swear she'd lost weight.

"Becky...."

"I just need a few more hours," Becky said, almost sounding panicked.

"You need sleep, you're not good to Zeke if you're starved and exhausted."

"King knows cops, I know congressmen."

"Becky, you need some sleep."

"I promise I'll go soon."

Morgan smiled gently at her, it was obvious she wasn't giving up anytime soon. She backed from the room and closed the door behind her.

She turned and headed back to hers and Iris' room, she opened the door to find the bed empty. She shook her head and turned, opening the door to Wolfs room. Iris was nestled down in the bed, wearing one of his shirts as a nightgown.

"She woke up and came over," He said softly.

"Okay."

She crossed the room and climbed into bed on the other side of her daughter, leaning over to steal a quick kiss from Wolf before switching off the light.

Six in the morning was awful early, Morgan, Iris and Wolf were still sleeping when Ty began banging on the door. Wolf climbed from the bed to let him inside.

"What is it?"

"Becky found a way to get Zeke out."

Wolf grabbed his jacket and follow Ty into the large open area, Becky had a map laid out in front of her on the pool table. The other two men stood beside her as she pointed to a spot on the map.

"That's the prison," She pointed to a large square.

"That's the yard," She pointed to a smaller square.

"That's where we're going in." She pointed to the large open field.

"Okay, you go." Wolf said.

"What?"

"You, go."

"Okay."

She rolled up the map and gave Ty a pat on the shoulder as she walked passed him towards the door.

"She worked hard on this," Ty said.

"Yes, she did."

Zeke was in the yard, it was the first few minutes he'd been allowed outside since arriving. He didn't have the strength to stand anymore, it'd been days since he'd had a good hot meal or enough water. While locked in solitary he'd received very little to eat or drink and the beating had made his body a battered mess, but it felt good to be out in the sunshine.

He was leaning against the fence, using it for support to stay upright when he saw the guards approaching. He cringed, at first he'd tried to fight them but now he could do little more than protect his head when they attacked.

Before the guards got too close everyone in the yard was distracted by a large black helicopter, it circled a few times before landing in the piece of field near the yard. Six large men dressed in black climbed out and then a familiar face joined them, Becky.

Without even looking at the yard she strode towards the building, the men following her. She disappeared and Zeke hoped she hadn't done anything stupid.

A few minutes later the doors opened to the yard and Becky walked into it, he tried to push to his feet. She had to be out of her damned mind to walk into that yard, some of those men hadn't seen a woman in years.

He was too weak to stand completely and that made him panicky, he couldn't protect her for the first time in as long as they'd been friends. The guards were a few feet away and she walked right up to them the men on her heels.

"I have a release paper for that prisoner right there," She pointed at Zeke.

"I'm sure you do," One of the guards said, his tone doubting.

"I'm taking him with me and you can tell King to kiss my ass."

She purposed bumped shoulders with the man before walking up to Zeke and draping his jacket around his shoulders. He let go of the fence to pull her to him in a one armed hug.

"You're insane, you shouldn't be in here."

"I wasn't going to leave you."

"That prisoner is here on assault chargers," The one guard said.

The one who had been the source of all his beatings and the one who threatened Becky reached out to grab Zeke and one of the six man shoved him to the ground.

"You stay down!" The man warned.

"If you touch him or me I will have your ass locked up so fast you won't have time to even buy soap on a rope," Becky threatened.

Her threat was enough to cause the other guards to back away from her and Zeke. The Six men parted to allow her to lead Zeke out of the yard, staying close behind them.

Even in his weakened state and while being saved Zeke was aware of the other inmates watching her and he didn't like it. He stood a little straighter, prepared to knock one out if they approached her.

They crossed the field his legs getting weaker by the second and she helped him climb into the helicopter, she did his seat belt then handed him a bottle of water which he drank greedily.

"How the hell did you pull this off?"

"I called in some favors."

"You're one hell of a woman."

"Wow, is that an actual compliment?" She teased.

"Don't read anything into it, I'm dehydrated, half starved and exhausted. I'm probably not in my right mind."

She laughed and reached over to lay her hand on top of his, for once he allowed her this little gesture of affection. He needed to know she was there just as much as she needed to know he was okay. As the helicopter lifted from the ground he lay his head back and fell into a deep sleep.
