Papers and files are scattered around the couch in the Avenger's Compound common. Laying on the couch, one foot bandaged heavily and elevated in the air, rests Dae-Hyun Seo. One of the remaining Avengers. One of the few who could be called an original. There aren't many of those left.

His left index finger taps against a paper as he reads through one of the files he has around him, a pen held between his teeth as his brow furrows with focus. He's so focused that he fails to hear the person who comes up behind him, but he rarely hears Natasha when she walks anyways.

"Make any choices?" She asks, smiling slightly as he flinches and bites a little harder on the pen between his teeth. She leans past him to look at the file a little better. Another applicant.

Dae looks up at her for a second, taking the pen from his mouth only to let out a heavy sigh. He looks around at the files surrounding him, only a slight method of organization in the chaos. "It's hard. None of them have the training we have, the experience. Part of me doesn't want to let any of them experience the things we have."

Natasha perches on the armrest by his head, looking down at him. A beeping noise breaks out across the room before she can reply though, and she pulls out her phone to see yet another red dot lighting up on the map. Her brow furrows with worry immediately, frowning slightly as she starts looking into the alert.

It's not the only alert on the map either. It's been three-four weeks since Thanos snapped half of the universe into dust, and the alerts haven't stopped. Natural disasters, societal collapse, accident after accident. The death toll, the damage, the fear: it's all growing out of their control.

"We have to make our choices sooner rather than later," Natasha mutters, determining the alert as another natural disaster, something that has become incredibly common in the past few weeks. "We don't have many other choices left."

Dae nods in agreement, closing his eyes for a moment and taking in a breath. "Let's start then," he says softly. "Let's start sending out the acceptance letters." He glances down at the file in his hands again, shaking his head with a little disbelief. "Some have a ways to go. We'll have to get to work the moment they get here."

Natasha places a hand on his shoulder, rubbing a tense spot with her thumb gently. She takes in a breath and nods, the same as Dae. "Let's start."

There were twelve recipients of acceptance letters from the Avengers' newest initiative. All received the following message, nearly identical to every person.

Hello, ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇,

This is your official notice of acceptance into the Avenger's Initiative. The private address of the Avenger's Compound, as well as your personal identification code for entrance, is included below.

In sending in your application, you agreed to the following: becoming a trainee of the Avengers, following the rules and orders that that entails, and becoming a new hero in a time we need them the most. You have also acknowledged the fact that you understand that this job will require much from you, including but not limited to: physical and mental work, to the possibility of facing personal sacrifices.

We begin training immediately. All applicants are expected to move into the Compound by the end of the week.

hello everyone, we're finally here!!

it has been a few crazy months since I opened this apply fic, but let me tell you, the behind-the-scenes work has not stopped. I've had to figure out what I'm going to do with all of your ocs after all. this is one of the most fun parts of apply fics for me, seeing who's accepted and seeing you guys all interact with each other and your ocs for the first time.

i had such a hard time choosing which ocs would be in the fic or not. it came down to little things, the smallest bits about their backstories or personalities that gave me an immediate idea for the fic. i have so many fun and exciting plans to make this group not just into a team, but a family of their own making.

please, please, please be sure to do the opinions and love interests responses as soon as possible!! I would love to see all of them finished by Halloween (October 31) or sooner so that I can start writing right away!! the first chapter will in fact be "move-in day" so get excited my loves, this cutesy, found-family, rip-your-soul-out Endgame fic is just beginning <3
