Prologue
The night was humid and the sky was filled with the brightest of stars. As the wind blew past a flash of gray fur by a group of stones was shone by the moon and enabled it to be seen through the dark night. Just a few heartbeats later other flashes of fur went after the flash that was a tail length in front of them. "Sleetpaw get back here!" one of the orange flashes of fur at the front of the group called out.
The flash of grey fur a tail length in front of the group of cats stopped in its tracks as the river was right in front of them. The grey furred cat named Sleetpaw looked at the group of cats with a glare. The leader of the group stopped at tail length in front of the grey cat and shared the glare with the 10-moon old apprentice. "Sleetpaw you are coming back with us this instant, or there will be dire consequences." The huge orange tabby said with a growl in his voice.
Sleetpaw looked at him and grinned. The orange tabby looked at him with awe as the apprentice showed no fear or respect for him even as the clan deputy. Sleetpaw looked at the tabby and said grimly "See you in the dark forest you sorry excuse for a deputy." As the tabby tried to grab the apprentice by the scruff the apprentice dived into the river. "Sleetpaw!" the orange tabby was running down the river side until it ended at a waterfall.
A black she-cat was about to dive in but the orange tabby stopped her and said coldly. "He's already dead..." The next morning Sleetpaw was sleeping in a makeshift nest made of moss and nettles in a gouged out cave in the side of a cliff by the waterfall. As the sun shone through the cave Sleetpaw let out a huge yawn and and his back arched in a stretch. It's already sunhigh? It feels weird to wake up late... Sleetpaw thought.
Sleetpaw limped out of the cave and sat next to the river feeling sore and achy. He realized he had an open wound on left hind and one scrape on his cheek and he leaned over to lick his wound I can't feel my leg at all he thought worriedly. After cleaning out any dirt from the wound he went to swim in the shallow pond the water fall lend into. He splashed around and chuckled to himself as he reminded himself of playing in the puddles after a huge storm when he was a kit.
He then frowned as he reminded himself of his family and friends I'm sorry for leaving Daggerpaw, but I had too I couldn't stand it. He climbed onto the shore and shook out his wet fur. He suddenly caught the smell of rabbit nearby and his stomach rumbled loudly better catch it before I starve. He found the rabbit gazed slowly in a patch of grass. Once he had his stare locked on the rabbit he readied himself to pounce on the creature one,two,thr- just then random cat pounced on the rabbit and broke the rabbit's neck in their teeth.
Once Sleetpaw got a good look at the cat he could tell it was a pure white she-cat with gold eyes she has the stale sent of Thunderclan on her. Once he gathered enough courage he stood up and said "Hi there!" the she-cat stood there with wide eyes and she sniffed the air "Your a Riverclan cat... what are you doing here?" Sleetpaw looked at here with confusion "Well I was going to ask you the same thing." Sleetpaw said with a small purr in his throat She doesn't scare me or make me shake... for some reason it suddenly feels like I've known her for a bit he thought strangely.
The she-cat looked at Sleetpaw and was confused by his generosity and that he had a purr in his voice and she said "Well my name is Snowpaw from Thunderclan. Who are you?" Sleetpaw stared up at her with the warm sun on his pelt making it shine. Sleetpaw looked at her with afection in his eyes " I'm Sleetpaw from Riverclan. Nice to meet you" he said with a purr in his voice.
Snowpaw looked at him and purred "Well, Sleetpaw nice to meet you"
