Muchas Gracias
*A satirical poem that I wrote for teachers day at my college. Muchas gracias is spanish term that mean, 'thank you very much'. Its a tribute to our teachers that toil selflessly for us.*
~
Fair is foul and foul is fair,
Bard of Avon made an err.
The maxim is false and we agree
Yet we all adhere to this decree.
Muchas gracias dear teacher, for reteirating the tales.
You make me dine with Richardson Steel,
And enjoy Robinson's copious thrills.
I chase Wordsworth, Byron and Keats,
Their comaradarei is all I need.
Muchas Gracias dear teachers for your exitement to teach.
Your invigorating lecture lure me to slumber
And suddenly I reckon that I missed my roll number,
And follow you outside to mark me present
You scowl at me and tag me as torment.
Muchas gracias dear teachers for your sovereign grace.
Your abrupt questions creats glitch in my brain,
I fumble and mumble, my cranial nerve suffer strain,
Attending your class is fraught with perils,
Clautrophobia conjures me to rebel.
Muchas Gracia dear teachers for perfecting me with trails.
My imbecile friend warble now and then,
But your vigilant eyes catch me among all of them,
You command me to sit in the first bench,
They all mock at me but i promise to revenge.
Muchas gracia dear teachers for your bitter sweet concern
Two years lapsed, one more to go,
Time is fast but I am slow,
I am a hapless fellow, cribbing all my time
Your my hoarded treasure and will always be mine.
Muchas gracias dear teacher for your endless love and boundless care.
