I was pondering over a particular matter today concerning a coworker of mine for quite a while today. The exact issue isn't important, but the lesson is.

I was pondering what to do about this issue, how I was going to go about it.

After a while the impression finally came to me:

"Don't make a bigger deal about it than you need to!"

I realized then that I was indeed likely making a bigger deal out of this than I needed to, though I still wasn't sure how resolving the issue with my coworker was going to go.

Insight for today: If the Spirit impresses you to not make a bigger deal out of an issue than you need to, then you likely are making a bigger deal out of it. Newsflash: most of the time in life, we take things way too seriously and make a bigger deal out of almost everything every day.

Well, this issue was bothering more than I thought, so I wrote a brief letter to Heavenly Father tonight expressing my feelings and worries about not being able to resolve the issue correctly, or at all. I felt liberated from my fear, and even a little humbled because I was asked a question in the letter that led me to write down steps I already knew I needed to take. I suppose you could say it was a loving chastisement, but I was touched because He cared enough to walk me through what should have and probably was a rather simple issue.

Second insight for today: Try writing a letter to Heavenly Father as a prayer sometimes if saying a traditional prayer doesn't seem to be giving you the words you need to say, and you may be surprised at how much He cares about even the smallest issues you're worried about.
