Not exactly a headcanon, but more of a story idea I am in great need of:

Human AU. GerIta. Either Germany or the Italy Bros are the new kids in town. Germany and Italy meet, and love is in the air~

And Romano hates it. So he does his damn best to get the two to separate (with or without help, your choice)

Now, here's the thing: when Roma first try to break them up, he seems -- seems is a very key word -- like a homophobic jerk. Let readers hate him. But later, through a conversation between Roma and Germany, this is revealed:

Ita used to have a crush on another boy when he was younger, and the boy seemed to reciprocate the feelings. But then the boy "took Feli's heart, ripped it in two, and stomped on that shit over and over" (Roma's words, somewhat) and left him without a word. Italy was heartbroken, and to this day he blocks the memories of that boy.

However, Roma didn't forget. And he's determined to not let Ita's heart be broken twice. Which is why he is so against him being with Germany.

Whether that mystery boy is Germany or not is your choice (although, it's best if he's not).

Whether Italy's sexuality is known to the other kids is your choice (although, if he's the new kid, the kids at the new school wouldn't know).
