What is your value?

Today's Scripture:

John 12:27-28a, NLT

"Now my soul is deeply troubled. Should I pray,

'Father, save me from this hour?'

But this is the very reason I came!

'Father, bring glory to Your Name."

Observation:

Are you not confused why white-collar jobs earn much more than blue-collar jobs?

That's because our value depends on how big the problem we solved.

Jesus knows about it. That's why He didn't pray for deliverance but He pray that God's will be done. If dying on the cross will save many and bring glory to the Father, He will go through it.

Nowadays, we also experience the feeling of being troubled or anxious in the midst of trials. But this verse only proves that trials are not meant for nothing.

God let that happen for a purpose.

Application:

Always remember that you are a raw material and you cannot be a valuable end product if you didn't go to a process.

From now on, do not pray that God will remove every problems in your life in a snap.

But rather, pray that God will give you the courage and strength to pass through it.

You might not see the purpose of your trials right now but someday you will surely say,

"You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good ." (Genesis 50:2, NIV)

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for my problems. It teaches me to depend on You. It teaches me many lessons in life. It increases my faith. It develops me into a person you wanted me to be. You let those things happen according to Your purpose. You are my Great Author, let Your plot twist be accomplished in my life. Guide me not to go in my way but through Your way. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
