Temptation

James 1:12 (NLT) tells us "God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation, and afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him." This verse coupled with others like 1 Corinthians 10:13, show us we will be tempted. Temptation is a part of our Christian walk. Even Jesus Christ was tempted.

While we should not be surprised we will be tempted, Matthew Henry, in his commentary for James 1:12says, "The origin of evil and temptation is in our own hearts. Stop the beginnings of sin, or all the evils that follow must be wholly charged upon us." He puts responsibility on us as believers! So, what do we do, and how do we resist temptation?

Over the next 3 days we will look at different types of temptation and how to overcome and remain faithful to the calling God has on each of our lives.
