On Homeworld, Sapphires are known for there capabilities involving the mind. Some Sapphires can see into the future; some can read minds. Black Sapphire's ability is telekinesis, or moving things around with her brain. Unfortunately, her power is weaker than most gems. She can lift most things up, but not very high. She can't hold things with her mind-power for over an hour. In order to maintain her status as an aristocratic gem, she often overworks herself by entertaining her diamond, White Diamond. She's a brilliant fighter, as silent as . . . something very quiet . . .She secretly wishes to be able to go into battle like Rubies and Jaspers, but she is a Sapphire, and Sapphires don't fight. B knows about the rebellious Crystal Gems of Earth, and she knows that one of their members is a pearl, A PEARL! Gems were allowed to be whoever that wanted down on Earth, and Black Sapphire wanted in. She buys a small space ship with her hard earnings, and with her ever-loyal Pearl, Pink, she escapes and lands on Earth. The Crystal Gems quickly find B and her pearl, and accept her into their ranks.
