Ships Ahoy

"Papa, did you know Auntie Alya calls you AdriChat and Maman Maribug."

"I did."

"And did you know you have five ship names?"

"I did, there's actually more too."

Adrien settled Emma into her pink Princess bed, as Marinette took the honours of reading and settling Louis. He leaned over the bed, tucking in the sides and making sure she had her special fluffy bunny close by incase she needed it.

"They're so cool though. I mean everyone knows LadyNoir, Adrinette and MisterNoire, but then Aunt Alya told me about MariChat and Ladrien. Which is you and Maman with only one of you in their super suit."

"That is true." Adrien settled onto the chair next to his daughter's bed, 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' in hand and a very awake child still chuntering on. They were just getting to the best part of the story, the Triwizard Tournament and he wished Emma would hush so he could read the first round of the games. He loved this book.

"I understand LadyNoir, because ChatBug would sound stupid, and MisterNoire because if not that would just be Ladybug, but why are the others the way they are? Is it because Maman's older than you?"

"No, I'm actually a couple of months older than your Maman." He closed the book, making sure the bookmark was inserted correctly and looked at his daughter wondering where she was going with this.

"Is it because she's a girl?" Emma asked, Adrien's eyebrows creasing a little more.

"I - um- I don't understand what you mean?"

"I know it's not because she's taller, because even I'm growing taller than Maman."

"Emma, what are you talking about?"

"Is it like when we're playing a game and Hugo gets to go first all the time?"

Adrien couldn't understand what his daughter was going on about. What games?

"Papa, seriously why is Maman's name always first?"

Adrien opened his mouth to respond only to find he didn't have an answer. Emma stared at him waiting, the only problem was he didn't have even the slightest idea.

"Look." Emma climbed out of her bed and headed towards the chalkboard in the corner of the room, over the top she'd thrown a blanket which she removed in a way a magician would be proud of.

On the board were written all the ship names and then the amount of times they appeared first. Adrien couldn't help but be impressed by the time and effort Emma had put in, obviously using her recently learned numeracy skills to come up with an algorithm.

"Myself and Louis have been looking through the different ships and found that anyone with the cat Miraculous is at the bottom of the table, so does that mean Ladybug is more important than Chat Noir?"

Adrien sat in the middle of being amazed and being dumbfounded. They'd done a great job setting all this up, but now a can of worms had been opened and he wasn't sure if he was overly happy with the result.

"Why is Lady Noire above me?" he asked, unsure why the female cat hero was above him.

"Because she is only last once, Chat Noir's last twice."

"And you think there's a reason?" Adrien asked.

"Maybe? Just something to think about."

The eight year old climbed back into her bed, grabbing hold of her bunny and shutting her eyes.

"You can turn the light off when you leave," she said, ending the conversation and leaving her father in a downhill spiral. Did it mean something?

He wandered into his office, grabbing a piece of paper from the printer and a pen. What would happen if he changed the names around a little?

LadyNoir - Now even though Emma thought it sounded stupid, he liked 'ChatBug'. It had a sort of friendliness to it, one where they would be embraced, not feared.

Adrinette - yeah, he wasn't messing with that. He was first and 'Maridrien' sounded like some sort of disease.

Ok, next up...

MariChat - ok, he had a clear winner here. Chatanette. Absolute belter of a ship name!

MisterNoire - No contest there, so why try?

There were a few Emma hadn't considered. Their other alter ego's for a start, plus their akumatised names, but if he went through all of those he'd be here forever. So the last one he went for was...

Ladrien - AdriBug. How could people not like that! AdriBug sounded friggin adorable! He could imagine people now announcing it during chat shows... "please welcome the most beautiful couple in France, AdriBug!"

"What are you doing?" Adrien slammed his hands over the piece of paper, hiding his ship names from Marinette.

"Nothing," he stated, looking everywhere but at his wife.

"That doesn't sound like nothing." She leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed over her chest and a glimmer in her eyes. Oh, she knew what he was doing. The woman was like a hawk, she could catch anything with her super sight and incredible hearing.

"I'm - um - writing fanfiction?"

"Are you asking me, or telling me?" Marinette raised one eyebrow.

"Telling?" he questioned, his face one of complete and utter lies.

"Yeah, well, if it's E-rated can you make sure this time I'm the one tied up, it's been a while since you did a Mister Bug one shot."

His face turned puce as Marinette moved to kiss him on the cheek. "I'll be in my design room if you need me." She stood behind him and ran her hands down his chest, leaning her lips next to his ear. "I'm always available for research purposes." Her sultry whisper sent a shiver down his spine, and he was sure if he wasn't in the middle of a very important piece of work he'd be taking her up on that offer. She pressed a kiss to his neck and he all but melted on the spot as he watched the sway of her hips as she left the room.

He looked back down at his compiled list and decided it was time to bring in the big guns.

"I call this meeting of the coolest Agreste's,"

"What about Maman?"

"Maman doesn't count,"

"Why?"

"Because she's not cool."

"I'm going to tell her that,"

"Go ahead, there'll be no sweets for a week."

"You wouldn't dare!"

"Try me!"

Louis collapsed back down on the tiny chair, as Adrien took a drink from his plastic child tea cup (empty of course).

"You've outdone yourself this time, Hugo. We'll have you cater all the meetings in the future."

Louis rolled his eyes, wishing he was in the house with his mother instead of being out here. If his mother... who was Ladybug for crying out loud... wasn't cool, then he didn't know what that word meant.

"So, why are we here Papa?" Emma asked as Hugo and Louis sat either side of their sister.

"I have a mission for you all." Suddenly, Louis perked up.

"A superhero mission?" he asked, only to be met by the pull of his father's mouth and a shake of his head.

"It depends how you see it."

"Has it got a super secret name?" Hugo asked, bouncing up onto his knees.

"Of course it does," Adrien spluttered out, as if he would bring his kids into a mission that had no name.

"What's it called then?"

"Ships Ahoy!" Adrien announced it with such certainty the kids couldn't hold back their laughter.

"Dad, how did I ever think you were cool?"

"Louis, one more word and you're going on the naughty step."

"I'm eight, you can't do that anymore."

Adrien looked at his son, the spitting image of himself with a hint of Marinette and Plagg's personality and lent forward. "Oh I can and I will." His voice was laced with authority.

"Do it!" Louis answered back. "At least I'll be in the house with Maman, that way."

Sitting back, Adrien head butted the window before trying to play off the shooting pain by crossing his arms across his chest. "This is a big deal, Lou. We're going to be changing history. Don't you want to be a part of that?"

"You're just upset because your name is last on all your ship names."

"Unlike you, Louella," Emma teased, causing her brother's face to turn fiery red. Of course Emma would bring up Louis and Bella Couffaine's ship name, the poor boy had been working on it since they were four years old, and wrote it all over his notepads. He was so much like his mother it was creepy.

Adrien let out a low chuckle before lifting a stack of papers off the floor. "You will each take these to your school tomorrow at 0800 hours, you will proceed to hand them to all students, asking them to fill in which names sound better. You will then return for a deep analysis of the results."

Louis stood up, grabbing a stack of paper from the small child table and walked out the door. "This is stupid," he said, storming out the playhouse and back to, most likely, his room.

"You're part of history, Lou. Don't forget it." Adrien shouted after him, turning back to his other two children with a smile on his face. "Thank you for attending today's meeting, for now we are adjourned. Emma, I expect the minutes written and in my office before dinner time."

Hugo and Emma grabbed the paper before making their way to the door.

"You coming Papa?" Hugo asked, his sweet little voice playing like music to his ears.

"I'm going to finish my tea and biscuits then I'll come to you." Adrien picked up his empty cup before grabbing a pretend biscuit to dunk in and eat, his long legs stretched out and placed against the opposite wall.

Emma smiled at the playfulness of her father. "Do you want me to go and ask Maman to help you get out?"

"Yes, please," he responded, not at all embarrassed that for the third time that week he was stuck in the children's playhouse.

"Why are we all here?" Alya asked, sitting down on the sofa in the 'Agreste/Dupain-Cheng' mansion.

She settled in next to her husband, pulling on her top to breastfeed their three month old baby boy, Rueben. Alya was tired, but apparently this meeting of Miraculous holders was important, hence why she'd dragged herself out the house looking like shit.

"Did something happen to Marinette?" Zoé asked, looking around the room for Adrien's wife.

"No, I'm here." A frazzled Marinette made her way into the house from the garage, stumbling over her heels only to be caught by Adrien.

"Don't," she said, placing a finger over his lips.

"Oh come on," he mumbled through the obstruction. "You know you like it when I say it."

"What's he going to say?" Alix asked Max.

Coughing, Kim stood up taking the floor and putting on his best Chat Noir voice. "You're falling for me, M'Lady."

The room broke into laughter as Adrien smiled and Marinette turned beet red.

"Does anyone want a drink, and I mean alcohol wise... believe me, you're going to need it." Marinette leant against Adrien, placing a hand on his shoulder as she pulled the heels from her worn out feet, dropping at least four inches from the lack of shoe.

"Me-ouch! Someone's touchy today." Adrien looked at his wife as she rolled her eyes at him, making her way into the kitchen. "We need to give out the Miraculous' to you all tonight, just for the next couple of days. But Adrien has something he wants to talk to you about too," she called back over her shoulder. "Oh, and someone call the kids, I've got treats," she said with a smile as she exited the room.

"I'll get them." Luka stood up, strolling in the direction of the games room where the abundance of children were currently settled for the evening.

Louis, Emma and Hugo Agreste had been joined by Bella Couffaine and William Kanté (aka Billy), and all the children were currently in the middle of a heated Ultimate Mecha Strike X battle, Hugo putting the older children to shame.

"Auntie Marinette has some treats in the kitchen if you want any," Luka announced as William stood up continuing to bash the buttons on his controller against a very calm and chilled out Hugo.

"No!" William shouted as Hugo stood in his 'Tom Dupain' victory pose.

"Boo yah! Hugo style," Bella and Louis cheered for the youngest Agreste who'd just defeated the oldest kid in the gang, Emma making her way over to comfort the pre-teen who was currently chanting to himself about where he went wrong.

Luka laughed, memories of their younger days playing in his mind. Max, Marinette and Adrien were always fighting to the finish, wanting more than anything to be crowned the Victor. Sometimes the game evenings were equivalent to 'The Hunger Games'.

Turning and making his way back to the adults he couldn't help but listen in on Bella and Louis conversation. Luka wasn't stupid, he knew the Agreste twin had a crush on his daughter, and the fact it was identical to what Marinette had had on Adrien all those years ago. It really seemed the apple did not fall too far from the tree.

"So have you spidered the man's new film? - I mean - new man spider film? No - wait -"

Bella's soft laugh made Luka smile, she definitely had his calm and understanding personality. If she was anything like Kagami she would have told Louis to get a hold of himself and spit it out.

"Yes, I've seen it. Did you like it?"

"I like you - I mean - I like it, like you like it. Like it was fun... like."

"Yeah." Bella giggled. "It was pretty fun."

"Kids." Marinette stumbled around the kitchen island, a tray of cakes and pastries in her hand. "Here, enjoy. Thanks for getting them, Luka."

"No worries, Melody."

"That's weird," Billy said, looking at Luka before turning to Marinette.

"What's weird?" Hugo asked.

"That Bella's dad has a nickname for your Maman," he replied, looking at the youngest Agreste.

"I would agree," Bella commented, "but he has weird names for most people."

Luka shrugged, walking out the room, as Marinette giggled, grabbing the wine plus glasses and heading back out into the main room after him.

"Do you want water, Alya?" she asked her friend as she continued to feed her son.

"I'm covered thanks, Mari," Ayla replied, lifting a bottle of water to show her friend.

"Are Marc and Nathaniel coming?" Kim asked, grabbing the wine bottle and pouring out the glasses.

"They're still on their honeymoon," Marinette replied, settling into one of the lazy boy's and lifting the foot rest up.

"Myléne and Ivan?"

"Beau is ill," Adrien answered, sitting on the arm of Marinette's chair and pressing a kiss into her hair.

"Rose and Juleka," Alix asked, looking over towards Luka and Kagami. The former sitting on the floor in front of his wife's legs. Kagami looked down to Luka, who shrugged back.

"They said you could tell if you want. It's up to you, Hebi." She placed her hands on his shoulders, rubbing them tenderly as Luka closed his eyes.

"They've separated." The room was filled with heartbreaking sounds of 'No' and 'why?' Kagami moved forward to wrap her arms around Luka's neck, and place a kiss on his temple.

"They're just at a point where they want different things," Kagami continued for her husband. "Rose wants children and Juleka doesn't. It's caused a lot of rifts in the relationship."

The heartbreaking sounds were swapped with those of understanding, especially as they all, bar Zoé, had kids and knew how much hard work it could be, and if you didn't want them it wasn't something you could just change your mind about.

"My father properly messed us both up." Luka sighed, taking hold of Kagami's hand and pressing a kiss to her wrist.

"To shitty fathers," Adrien toasted, before Zoé joined in.

"And mothers."

"Let them know we're here for them if they need us - both of them," Marinette said, placing her hand on Adrien's thigh. She couldn't imagine him leaving her because they wanted separate things. It would kill her.

"Thanks guys," Luka said, his faint smile directing around the room.

"But in other news, Zoé has agreed to go out with me," Kim announced looking towards the blonde.

"Going in the same car as you to Max and Alix's wedding is not a date." She rolled her eyes, crossing her arms across her body and leaning back into the chair as far away from Kim as possible. She had 100 percent made herself a 'no go zone'.

"All in good time, Lee. You won't resist me forever."

"Keep wishing, Kim-Bo."

"See," Kim announced to the room, "she already has a pet name for me."

"I think she's insulting you, dude. You know 'Kim-bo', 'Bimbo'?" Nino spoke up.

"Don't insult us blondes!" Adrien said, glaring at his friend. Nino threw his arms up in surrender.

"Okay, as much as I love these weird conversations. I had three hours of sleep last night and a colicky baby, so can we just get to the reason we're here." Alya was a woman on the edge, and after three kids Adrien knew that look. He needed to start talking or he was going to be mauled.

Marinette removed her hand from Adrien's leg and headed for the Miracle box, taking out the Miraculous she needed. "As you know, we have Heroes Day coming up, and I've sent you all an itinerary for interviews and appearances we need you to make. Alya, I've kept you to a minimum, Trixx knows too so no trying to up your workload."

"Aye, aye, Captain," she saluted, Nino standing to grab their jewellery and placing them on himself and his wife. Marinette continued walking around handing them to their friends, making sure each was clear on the instructions for the day. It was also a day opportunists attempted their chance at becoming a super villain, so far nil succeeding.

Once Marinette had finished her section of the meeting, Adrien stood up and made his way over to where he'd positioned Emma's chalkboard, picking it up and pulling it over.

"Our next order of business comes after extensive research. It has come to head that maybe it's time for a change to mine and Marinette's ship names."

A wailing noise sounded from Rueben, Alya standing up with the child in arms. "Are you kidding me? We're out of here." The angry Maman stood and made her way to the front door, Nino remaining seated.

"Nino, I swear!" The growl leaving Alya's mouth would have scared the most fearless of heroes, meaning her husband took approximately thirty seconds to gather their belongings, put on his shoes and head to his wife.

"Sorry, man. Text me the ideas, I'm actually intrigued to know what they are."

With her spare hand, Alya grabbed Nino's arm, yanking him out of the door and onto the street. It was obvious they were going home, the poor guy had no say in the matter.

"As interesting as this sounds, we're out too," Kagami said, standing and pulling Luka along with her, calling for Bella to get ready to leave. "I've got meetings in the morning, and can't deal with my mother if I haven't had at least 10 hours sleep."

"We're out too." Max and Alix stood, going to find William and exiting the house.

Adrien stood disappointed as the others left the mansion, a pout plastered on his lips.

"You two may as well head off as well," Marinette said, wrapping her arms around Adrien's waist relieving Kim and Zoé from having to stay.

They nodded their agreements before standing and leaving the premises. Only Adrien, Marinette and their children remained.

"I thought that might happen," Marinette said with a sigh, calling for the children to come into the family room. She watched her husband sit deflated on the sofa, hands joined and in the middle of his legs.

Emma, Louis and Hugo made their way into the room and settled closely to their father. Marinette taking position by the chalkboard.

"I call this meeting of the 'coolest' Agreste's," she said, looking at her family. "In response to the secret mission, 'Ships Ahoy'."

Adrien looked at his children before looking back at Marinette. "Who spilt?"

"Me," Louis said, a small smile on his face. "Dad, we really love you and something as silly as ship names shouldn't determine how you feel valued."

"So we came to our own conclusion," Emma said, signalling Marinette to unveil the chalkboard.

"100% of the Agreste family was in agreement that your name is last for one reason." Marinette said, moving closer to Adrien to snuggle with her family.

"You're the best," Adrien read on the chalkboard. Marinette leaned around Louis to place a kiss on Adrien's lips.

"And they always save the best for last."
