Goodnight Terrors

Anyone who'd ever met the Agreste twins would tell you they are wonderful, smart children, but they would also tell you that sometimes they needed a taste of their own medicine. They could be conniving little terrors, and since Hugo had turned four the twins had gone out their way to terrorise their little brother.
The previous night, Hugo had come running once again into Adrien and Marinette's room terrified of what was in his wardrobe and under his bed. That had been the fourth time in the past week and a half, and, much to Adrien's frustration, during special 'mummy and daddy time'. He was losing his will to live, and getting annoyed with his children becoming a permanent cock blocker. He really thought that had all stopped once they'd started sleeping through the night.
So, there was only one thing left to do ... it was time to get even.
Tonight was their usual meet up with Alya and Nino at a local bar not too far from Notre Dame cathedral. They'd been coming here every month since they were married, keeping their third Saturday night free for the past nine years, so the two couples of best friends had a chance to relax and remember their youth.
"I'm just fed up," Marinette sighed out, looking at her pregnant best friend, "it's happening almost nightly now. I don't know what they're saying to him, but the poor little thing won't sleep in his own bed."
"Have you asked them?"
"Of course," Marinette said, "but you know what they're like. They could sell ice to an Inuit."
Nino snorted, before taking another swig of his beer and looking at Adrien. "You don't look good, dude."
"I don't feel good!" Adrien placed a hand on the table, Marinette cupping hers over the top and squeezing for reassurance. He turned his head to his wife, leaning forward and kissing her temple. "We haven't had sex in at least a month and I think I'm going to explode."
Alya burst out laughing, catching Marinette's cheeks as they made their way through the colour wheel of different reds.
"Ouch! I feel your pain." Alya slapped Nino around the shoulder, causing him to pull her in and kiss her firmly on the lips.
"It's not just about us having sex though," Marinette said quietly looking around to check there were no journalists near. Last thing they needed was their sex life spread across the tabloids, or lack of. "It's the fact I haven't had a good night sleep in forever because Hugo sleeps on my pillow and pushes me to the edge."
"Not all the time," Adrien exasperated, "he sleeps on my pillow too."
Marinette rolls her eyes and looks towards Alya, shaking her head. "He says that, but he's always fast asleep and I get the two of them snoring out of sync with each other. It's like being at band practice with no conductor."
"At least I've managed to get you -"
"Woah, as much as I know we like to share, we don't need deets about your bedroom antics." Alya said, taking a sip of her orange juice.
"You used to probe Marinette for details when we first got together." Adrien said, lifting his own drink to his lips.
"That was because nobody else in our class was having sex and nobody thought Mr and Mrs Innocent would be the first to rock the casbah."
"It was stress," Marinette explained downing her drink.
"My arse! Just admit it, you wanted me and I was willing to give it."
"Oh, you were definitely willing, some would say easy." She laughed.
"Only for you, M'Lady."
"Oh, please! Will you two stop! Honestly, how can you still be so mushy when you've been together for 14 years and have three kids! It's nauseating."
Marinette and Adrien laughed at Alya, Nino chinking his glass with his wife in support.
"I'm dreading when this little guy is out, we're so used to the freedom to do as we please." Alya said, stroking her perfectly rounded belly.
"You're too tired the first couple of months to even consider it. Then you've got to get rid of the memories of what happened down there." Marinette explained, Alya grimacing at her words.
"You know what? You should get even with the kids. No offence to them, because we do love them, but sometimes they're little shits." Nino said, placing his drink down and holding his hands up in surrender.
"I wish I could disagree," Marinette replied, before taking another swig of her wine.
Adrien tuned out the rest of their conversation as Nino's words rang around in his head.
Get even!
Maybe that's what he'd do ...
Find out which one it was and strike back, after all, it was about time they learnt their own lesson.

"Hey Hugo, can I speak to you for a minute?"
"Of course, Papa." Hugo placed down the Chat Noir and Carapace doll he was playing with and made his way to his father. "I haven't done anything wrong, have I?"
Adrien looked at his 'never to be said out loud' favourite child, noticing how the young boy had suddenly gone teary. "Of course not, why would you think that?"
"Louis said that if I keep sleeping in yours and maman's bed you'll have to move out the house and not love us anymore. I'm sorry for making you not love maman and all us anymore." The little boy sniffed back tears, and Adrien sat gobsmacked. Oh those little shits!
"Come here." He lifted his four year old onto his lap, and stroked his hair and back. "I love you all with my whole heart and I would never, ever leave you Hu."
"Nor Maman? Because she always calls you her Prince, just like the Princess in my stories, and I know Princes stay with their Princesses."
This kid was too pure for the world, and Adrien just saw so much of himself in him it physically hurt.
"Your Maman is my Queen, I would never leave her side. We don't mind you sleeping with us when you're really scared Hugo, but we do want to know why? Sometimes maman and papa need their own special time together." Luckily, his four year old wouldn't understand that the special time usually meant being naked and with a lot of hair pulling.
"So you're not mad at me?" Hugo whispered, looking up and hopeful into his fathers eyes.
"No chance, but I will ask you again, what have Louis and Emma been telling you?"
Hugo took a deep breath and told his father the whole story, and it turned out the villain to his story was no other than Louis.

Marinette paced the lounge, her hand under her chin and a frown on her face. "I can't believe him, Adrien! Where did we go wrong? Why are they like this?"
Adrien stood, walking over and placing his arms around her waist, stopping her from spiralling into a character assissination of herself. He wondered how many times he'd done this over their 14 years of partnership?
She relaxed in his arms, her whole body responding to the comfort of his touch and warmth of his embrace.
"It's nothing we've done, Marinette. They're good kids, just for some reason they like to pick on their younger brother. We're both only children, we don't know how this sibling thing works."
"I suppose you're right." She settled her head against his chest, snuggling in closer and breathing in the smell of his aftershave. "Shall we go to bed?" She whispered, turning her head to look up into his eyes. The glimmer she was met with was more of an answer than his words ever could be. Spanking his ass, she giggled and started towards the bedroom.
"I'll lock up, you go and make yourself comfortable." He dropped her a wink and headed towards the front door checking everything was locked and the alarms were set. Finally, he made it to the kitchen, making them two glasses of water before heading to the bedroom. Excitement filling his body.
The lamp was off, and he kicked the bed leg as he walked past, a slight swear coming from his lips as he placed his and his lady's drinks on their bedside tables. He didn't care though, he was finally going to get lucky. He stripped down to nothing, sliding himself into bed next to his wife, dithering from the cold.
"Warm me up, warm me up," he muttered as he shuffled closer and grasped onto her body, suddenly realising she was naked too. "Naked? Someone's eager."
"You can talk." She giggled. "Plus, I'm tired and frustrated," she said, a sigh leaving her lips as he moved his hands around her body.
"Let me help you then."
Adrien slipped under the covers giggling like a schoolgirl, and moving around to get into the right position. For the first time in a month he might actually get to relieve the tension which was threatening to snap him in half.
Just as they were getting to the 'good stuff' the bedroom door slammed open and a screaming child came running in. In haste to get into a more 'normal' position and not raise questions as to why maman sounded in pain, and papa was under the covers Marinette used her feet to push on his shoulders, flinging him out of the bottom of the bed and back into their opposite wardrobes. The loud 'thadunk' caused Hugo to turn on the light just as Adrien scrambled around the side of the bed in search of his pyjama bottoms.
"Maman, can I sleep in here?"
A breathless Marinette, clutched the duvet tightly around her chest, as Adrien sprung up on the opposite side of the bed, pyjama bottoms on and a balled up tee blocking his groin.
"What's wrong Hugo? What's wrong with your room? Do you need another night light?" He asked his son, clambering into the bed beside Marinette, and passing her her own pyjamas. She slipped the nightshirt on and pulled the covers back for Hugo. She'd figure out her bottoms later.
Adrien turned and took a drink of his water, before wiping his lips with his tee. Louis had a lot to answer for.
The small boy shook his head, nuzzling into Marinette's chest and closing his eyes, the motion sending a trail of tears down his little apple cheeks.
"What are they saying to you, kitten?" Marinette asked, stroking the back of his head.
"Louis said there's a monster under my bed, and one in my closet." Hugo sniffed, grasping onto his maman even tighter. "He said because I didn't eat all my vegetables they were going to come and get me tonight and take me away from home." He started sobbing again, Adrien wrapping an arm around both Marinette and his youngest child.
"There's no monsters here, buddy. You know they're all terrified of your maman. Everyone's terrified of your maman." He chuckled.
Marinette let out a little laugh, rolling her eyes at her husband. Hugo joined along eventually too. "Do you want Plagg and Tikki to sleep with you tonight?" She asked, basking in the warmth of two out of her three favourite boys.
The four year old nodded, as Adrien (now in a more suitable situation) went to find their kwami's in the Miracle Box. Both readily agreed, flying back and comforting Hugo, Plagg purring the young boy back to sleep.
Thirty minutes later, Adrien led Marinette back to their own bedroom, committing to just cuddling after their once again interrupted night.
"We're fixing this tomorrow," Marinette said, kissing her husband and settling herself on his chest. "It's time we give Louis a taste of his own medicine."
Adrien grinned, stroking the tips of his fingers up and down his wife's back. God, he loved this woman.

They'd been planning most of the day, asking Tom and Sabine to come take the kids to the park for a little while so they could set up what they needed to in Louis' bedroom. By the time the kids arrived, both adults found a new found excitement, and bond, when it came to terrorising their kids.
Hugo had gone to bed at seven as sweet as a nut, however the twins didn't go up until eight, which just prolonged Adrien's anticipation about what they were about to do. The pay back would be sweet, but his and his lady's reward even sweeter.
"So, remember," Adrien said, placing down the book they were reading before bed. "You're eight now so you sleep into your own room."
"Of course, Papa," Emma replied.
"We're not scared of anything." Louis continued, causing their father to smile.
"Fantastic. Well then, goodnight Emma," he reached over her bed and kissed her forehead, before walking Louis out and into his own bedroom.
Adrien tucked Louis into bed and pressed his lips against the young boy's forehead causing him to immediately rub it off with a yuk sound.
"Louis, you need to stop teasing your brother. He's not sleeping."
"I haven't done anything Papa, I swear. Whatever he's telling you is a lie. He's just trying to get me into trouble."
"Well, I hope you're telling me the truth because if you weren't it'd make you a bad boy, and I would hate for that to happen."
Louis looked a picture of innocence as he smiled at his father. "I would never lie to you Papa, and I love Hugo, I wouldn't want to hurt him."
"Well, that's great to know. Goodnight Louis," Adrien said, a slight hint of amusement in his voice.
"Night Papa."
"Goodnight monster that eats children who are bad." Adrien sang back loudly.
Louis started to laugh. "Good one, Pa-"
Louis' words were suddenly interrupted by a sound from under the bed. "GOODNIGHT!" The look on Louis' face was gold, and Adrien wished he'd filmed it. The young boy pulled the duvet over his head and settled deep within the quilt. Without another word, Adrien turned on his heel and left.
Closing the door he headed to his bedroom where his wife was waiting with her fist held aloft. He bumped his own against it, before collapsing next to her on the bed and slinging his arm around her shoulders.
She placed the walkie-talkie down before curling up into her husband, kissing him with a ferociousness he hadn't felt from her since their akuma battling days.
The next morning they awoke to find Louis snuggling in Hugo's bed, the two boys clinging onto each other and fast asleep.
And that night ... well ... Adrien finally got to see the stars, and damn it was good.
