Don't Mess with my Kid
Marinette and Adrien wish they could say that they'd always solved problems with their words not their fists, but when you're the superheroes of Paris that isn't exactly true.
They'd never kept their identities from their children, trusting that the little monkey's would never drop them in it and to be fair to the scoundrels they'd never told a fly. Though it probably helped that their aunties and uncles were also superheroes and their best friends' parents also happened to be superheroes too.
They tried hard, as all parents did, to get their children to use words rather than their fists, but with the nature of their parents' second jobs each of the Miraculous kids were trained in self defence. Adrien didn't run a Cobra Kai for the kids, it was more a Miyagi-Do. Adrien taught the skill, Luka taught the mental calmness to help them avoid unnecessary conflict.
So today was an unusual day.
Marinette was currently up to the eyeballs in her spring fashion line so Adrien had been sent on 'school business'. The phone call from the head (who surprisingly was still Principal Damocles), came just before two in the afternoon, summoning a meeting with Emma Agreste's parents.
There had been an incident at school and apparently it was 'call the parents in for a meeting' worthy. The first they'd ever had with any of the kids. They were good children; they were bright and loving, kind and caring and incredibly smart (just look at their parents). Something wasn't sitting right with Adrien, the protectiveness of the dominant cat filled his aura.
Adrien pulled up outside the school half an hour after the phone call (traffic in Paris was a mess) only to be met by a blue haired, tired male also waiting outside the school. The said male donned a cute six month old, asleep and strapped to his chest.
"Marinette called to see if Bella had had a summoning too." Luka said, holding out a hand to fist bump Adrien.
"Of course. Let's be honest, if Emma is involved her partner in crime will always be by her side."
"Was it Louis too?"
"No," Adrien sighed, "surprisingly."
The two made their way up to the principal's office, passing classrooms on their journey and distracting any hot blooded female as they passed. I mean who could blame them from having a stare, it wasn't everyday you get eye candy of two gorgeous males walking on school grounds, especially two famous gorgeous males.
Finally reaching the office Adrien noticed the two people sat waiting outside and resisted the urge to roll his eyes. Of course it was linked to them.
"Lila, Alexander," Adrien greeted coldly. He wasn't surprised at all to see them there.
Lila, as usual, looked as though someone had used her toothbrush to clean the toilet. Face in permanent duck pout and tear filled eyes, her son mirroring the same expression next to her.
"Monsieur Agreste, Monsieur Couffaine, please come in."
Principal Damocles moved to one side allowing the two heroes to walk into the office, their daughters sitting on chairs in front of the principal's desk.
Emma looked at Bella, before staring at her father and slouching down in the chair. Her reaction indicated one thing, that she was guilty.
"Thank you for both coming on such short notice."
"Why are we here?" Luka asked, glaring down at his daughter. Bella shrugged and turned back to face the man talking.
"There was an altercation at lunch time between your daughters and Monsieur Rossi."
"And what does that mean?" Adrien asked, crossing his arms over his chest.
"They were caught fighting." Principal Damocles continued.
"Can you explain what happened?" Asked Luka only to be interrupted by Adrien.
"Did they win?" The blonde model asked.
Luka glared at him, causing the blonde to shrug.
"Don't tell me you're not curious." Adrien said, before himself and Luka looked at the principal with their eyebrows raised.
"Regardless of who won, fighting is against school rules and a suitable sanction will be put into place regarding their behaviour. At the moment a suspension is looking quite likely."
"A suspension?" Adrien asked, "can I just remind you about the time when you suspended my wife under false circumstances? I think the school board would be interested to know you were fooled again by the same liar."
"Monsieur Agreste, I can guarantee this is not being taken lightly. I have discussed with Ms Rossi and her son to find the full facts of the situation."
"And would you mind sharing those with us?" Luka said.
"Emma here has been spreading lies which have been affecting Alexander. Now with Alexander's needs, unfortunately he struck out and pushed Bella, causing Emma to jump in and -"
"Woah, woah, woah, back up!" Adrien held his hands up in the air. "What 'needs' does Alexander have?"
"Unfortunately, I'm not at liberty to discuss another child's circumstances with -"
"Well as Alexander's uncle I am not aware of any needs,"
"Uncle? I do not believe Ms. Rossi has divulged that piece of information." Principal Damocles began to shift uncomfortably in his chair and Adrien was quite sure he saw a bead of sweat run down his face.
"We have complicated family issues. So what was the supposed rumour that Emma has been spreading?"
Emma turned to face her dad, a clear smile of pride on her face reminding him very much of Marinette's when he'd fought alongside her in battle.
"That they were second cousins,"
"Emma, Belle get your bags we'll be leaving now." The girls grabbed their things and Luka began to lead them out the room.
"I'm sorry, M. Agreste, M. Couffaine."
"I believe Monsieur Rossi needs to be sanctioned for his attack on Ms. Couffaine here," Adrien put his hand on his goddaughters shoulder.
"After all, starting fights is against school rules. I'm just glad my goddaughter, Emma, was there to protect my baby girl." Luka continued. "Deal with this efficiently or I will be contacting the school board."
A look between the four heroes was one of sheer victory as they left the office, Adrien closing the door behind them.
"You guys carry on, I'll be out in a minute."
Adrien watched as Luka led the girls outside, ready to wait for Louis to finish before heading back home.
"Alexander, how about you go and apologise to Principal Damocles," he crouched down on one knee to look the blonde haired boy in the face, "people make mistakes all the time, but owning up to them is the bravest thing you can ever do, and I know you're a really brave boy. I just need a quick talk with your mother."
"Thank you, Uncle Adrien."
His nephew knocked on the office door, with a quick come in, he was gone.
"Oh, Adrien, I am so sorry about the mixup-"
"Don't even try, Lila," Adrien crossed his arms and looked at the women in front of him. Still the same jealous and bitter girl that tormented his wife all those years ago. "It was one thing when you interfered with mine and Marinette's life and relationship but you dare to bring my children into it again and you will regret it."
"Why should I listen to you?" She mirrored his actions, folding her arms across her chest.
"Because we're family aren't we?" Adrien turned to walk away, stopping after he took a couple of steps to turn back and face the liar again. "Oh, and by the way, Felix is expecting to have Alexander this weekend. We've got tickets to go to Disneyland together, so don't go trying to pull anything."
Continuing out into the courtyard, he met up with Luka, the twins and his goddaughter, deciding that after a day like today they all needed ice cream. A quick stop to get Hugo from preschool and they'd be on their way.
Adrien always thought Felix and his father would be the worst villains he'd ever face, but nothing was as bad as his cousin's ex-wife.
