| More Than A Shot |

We were preparing to go into the shooting area, I strapped myself with a vest. As Isabella struggles, Shawn bends down, and helps her out. My heart swells, as she smiles, kissing his cheek.

"Thank you, Daddy!"

He smiles wide, gripping his gun. I walk over to them both.

"You guys ready?"

They both nod.

"Better than ever."

Shawn says, I walk into the dark maze. Isabella and Shawn follows, our vests light up. I was blazing red, Isabella green, and Shawn red. Are you serious? Shawn looks up at me, our eyes meet, he chuckles.

"Game on."

Noticing we were on the same team, Isabella makes a run for it. We both smirk, running after her, she disappears into the maze. We stay together, running up another ramp, I glance around. Blacklight shining on me, I see her run around, aiming my gun. I shoot her repeatedly, her vest blares, Shawn sees the scoreboard.

Our score rising.

"Jesus!"

I close one of my eyes, still shooting, for a girl that's 11. She has really bad common sense at taking cover, she looked so confused. I couldn't help but laugh, my aim perfect. My divorced husband in shock.

"Have mercy!"

He whispers, I roll my eyes, stopping. She finally decided to take cover, as I sit down behind our ramp. He was smiling wide, his eyes wider.

"You got good aim, I'll say that."

He chuckles, I smile, there was no way Isabella could beat us now. He offers a hand, I grab his hand, standing up. For a strange moment, I wanted to keep holding his hand. I shake it off.

"Let's get moving."

I keep my gun up, walking in front of Shawn. He finds his way to my left, all of a sudden Isabella is in front of us. Before I shoot, Shawn jumps in front of me, shooting as much as he could before getting shot.

"RUN!"

He shouts, my mouth slightly open. He took the shot for me. I take cover, losing them both in the darkness. I make my way to the very top of the maze, gazing at the area below me. Everything lit up was breath taking.

"Hey."

I jump, seeing Shawn behind me. His breathing was irregular, and sweat on his forehead. His cheeks were red.

"Thanks for taking that shot for me."

I tuck a hair strand behind my ear, he smiles softly.

"No problem, it was the least I could do after you getting all those shots."

I laugh.

"I'd do more than take a shot for you."

He mutters, oh. Before I knew it, the buzzer went off, the game ending. I grip my gun netvously, why'd you have to say that?!

"We should get going, Isabella must be looking for us."

He nods, staring at me. I quickly walk down the ramp, making my way to the exit. Isabella finds us both.

"You guys cheated!"

She pouts, crossing her arms. I smile, shaking my head.

"No, honey. You're just bad at taking cover."

Her mouth drops open, I giggle, walking over to the buildings restaurant.

"Hi! Can I get one large coke, and three cheese pizza slices?"

The server was very good looking, I couldn't lie. His brown hair shaggy, and piercing blue eyes. He smiles cheekily.

"Anything for a beautiful lady like you."

A blush creeps onto my complexion, as he comes back with my food. His chin rests against the palm of his hand.

"What brings you to a place like this?"

His voice polite, I look down to my food, thinking of Shawn. Snap out of it! I look back up to the handsome, and interested man in front of me.

"I have a daughter and figured I'd bring her here for fun."

He nods, licking his lips. In a flash, Shawn was right beside me, as I look in his hazel eyes. They were flaring with jealousy, and a hint of hurt.

"Whose this guy?"

He chuckles, pointing at Shawn. Shawn wraps his arm around me, pulling me to him. My heart beat accelerates, oh fuck.

"I'm her husband."
