Chapter 2
Jungkook woke up hearing his mother's gentle voice and giggling at the kisses that came right after.
"Wake up bunbun! It's time for school." murmured in a soft voice, Jeon Jongyeon. It's her favorite time of the day as it's the only time of the day when she gets to see her 10-year-old son being a baby and whiny.
" hmm~ mom just a little more plzz~" Jung kook whined, slightly annoyed that he has to wake up this early in the morning. The boy has always been a mommy's boy. It didn't matter how he was teased by his friends for it. He loved his mother way too much to care about those petty comments. But he doesn't like to show that because apparently he is a big boy now and tries to act all tough when all it does is make him more cute.
"No. No. No, last time you said that, you were late for school. Now get up lazy bunny" The bunny's mother said in a stern voice and left the room but not before putting a kiss on his forehead.
Jung Kook let out a groan as he got up from his bed, still half asleep. His mother knew him too well. He can barely wake up when falls asleep for the second time. He quickly got ready for school and went downstairs for breakfast where he met his father already sipping his morning tea.
"Morning, buddy." Jung Kook's father, Junghyun wished his son with a smile which represented a bunny. People can tell the similarities between the two.
"Good morning, Dad."
"Ah-" Jung Kook let out a gasp when he saw his mother preparing his favorite breakfast of all time. Pancake tower with maple syrup and banana milk on the side.
Jung Kook started eating like he was starved for ages and who could blame him? He is a growing boy after all.
"Slow down, Kookie. No one's going to steal your food from you." His mother said with a fond smile on her face.
Jung Kook giggled and showed his bunny smile to his mother and continued eating fast. He knew his mother had a weakness for his bunny smile. After all, it was his father's bunny smile that made his mother fall for him despite being two years older.
After finishing his breakfast Jung Kook got a kiss from his mother and a pat on the head from his father as a goodbye when he left for school.
Jung Kook smiled with contentment as he left his home. He loved his family. His parents are like his best friends. They never failed to be by his side whenever he needed them nor did they ever doubt him for anything he wanted to try. They have always supported him no matter what and that's what made him capable of doing almost anything he tries.
'Jung kook is a golden child. He is gifted.' That's what he heard people say. I guess they weren't wrong because who would ace all tests, sports, and anything he ever tried if he wasn't gifted? He doesn't believe he is gifted though as he works hard to achieve it all because he doesn't want to disappoint his parents after all the things they do for him.
Jung Kook's family was rich and they loved him which resulted in spoiling Jung Kook with whatever he wanted. Like last year, he got a trip to northern Europe as his birthday gift from his parents as he always told them how much he loved traveling. He would still be happy if they didn't arrange the trip as he also got lots of materialistic gifts from them the same year. He is showered with love and gifts but that didn't make him a spoiled brat as they always reminded him about the right and wrong things. And if he did anything wrong they would ground him and make sure he knew that he was wrong. And he knew his father is a big CEO and he must carry on their business and work hard to expand the business even more. So Jung Kook was a bit more responsible than any other kid his age.
Jung Kook also loved painting and he would always create masterpieces after he is done with studies and school activities. It brings him joy and peace. Even though Jung Kook is an extrovert, painting helped him find peace amongst all the chaos that surrounds him all day at school.
Just like any other evening in Jeon's house which was more like a mansion, Jung Kook was painting as his mother accompanied him while reading a magazine by his side. He suddenly jolted when he heard the bell ring and did not waste a single second before sprinting towards the door. His father was home.
"Be careful Kookie you could've gotten hurt. I told you not to run inside the house." Jung Kook's mother warned him for the nth time. It's not his fault that he is excited to meet his father after a long day of work.
"It's fine Mom. I am a big boy now. I won't get hurt. Even if I get hurt I can handle it." Jung Kook whined due to his mother's nagging about his running inside the house.
"Is that it? You're just ten years old and you're already declaring yourself as a big boy? " Mr. Jeon said with a sly grin as he entered the house and kissed his wife before ruffling Jung Kook's hair.
"Of course, he is a big boy. Aren't you Kookie? I mean look at him! Our little Kookie is ten already!"
"Uncle Jihoon!" Jung Kook screamed and hopped onto his uncle's back when he heard the deep voice that came right after his father's.
"I know right?! I knew Uncle Jihoon would understand!" Jung Kook proudly said and everyone broke out laughing at his silliness.
Jung Kook loved when Uncle Jihoon would come to visit them from time to time. He is the best uncle and why wouldn't he be?! Jihoon is his father's best friend after all. Jihoon loved spoiling Jung Kook and they hung out a lot too but mostly at business parties and family picnics.
He always wanted to have a best friend like Jihoon, a friend who would be by his side through thick and thin. Who would support him no matter what? It would be a lie if Jung Kook said he didn't have friends because he had way too many. Everyone loved his charisma and his extraordinary talents so he made more friends than he ever anticipated but he wanted someone special whom he has yet to find.
A/N: If anyone is re-reading this, you might notice differences in a few details. I made it so to match better with the story and I am almost re-writing the whole book because everything is poorly written. It might take me some time to update as I already started college and it's tough managing all of it together. I hope you guys understand. And enjoy the book :)
