Ch. 3

The sky is blue, not a single cloud in sight as we walk down the street in the direction of the park. Jae is on my back and Jin is walking along side her dad, holding his hand. She's reciting the alphabet, Jae repeating after her.

"Good job. Spell out your name for me." Namjoon tells Jin.

"S-O-O-J-I-N K-I-M!" She spells out, excitedly.

"Excellent." Namjoon praises, high-fiving his daughter. "Can you spell daddy's first name?"

"That's easy!" Jin smiles confidently. "N-A-M-J-O-O-N!"

"Oh my, my, my. My baby is a genius." Namjoon chuckles. Jin bounces around in excitement, nearly tripping over her own feet while walking. He catches her quickly so she doesn't fall. "Careful, Jinnie."

"Okay, daddy."

We continue to walk, now beginning to play I Spy with the children as we near the park. As soon as Jae sees a spec of yellow and blue, he bounces against my back. "Harwy, the park! I wanna get down!"

"Okay, okay." I giggle, bending down enough for him to jump off my back. I stand straight and stretch out my back. "That boy's getting heavy."

"Daddy, can we go now?" Jin asks Namjoon, using all her weight holding an overly excited Jae's hand who's ready to take off at a moments notice.

Namjoon nods, us close enough in distance to the park that they're able to run off. "Careful, though."

The children waste no time running in the direction of the park. They climb onto the first set of playground equipment, giggling and having the time of their lives very quickly. I notice them laughing, Jin a little more labored than usual.

"Soojin!" I shout to the girl. "Come use your inhaler!"

The girl nods, quickly running to me as I pass her the inhaler. She takes 2 puffs, and smiles while taking deep breaths. "Thank you, Harly."

"You're welcome. Go have fun."

Namjoon nods at her and see runs back over to her brother to continue playing. He looks at me and smiles. "Mind talking for a bit?"

"No, not at all." I say, sitting next to him on the park bench that faces the playground.

"Thank you for bringing her backup inhaler."

"It's not a problem. You trust me with it for a reason. Other than Jiwoo being upset, how did the business dinner meeting go?"

"I feel as though it went well." Namjoon smiles, dimples pouring into my soul as dramatic as that sounds. "We got the partnership, so I'm happy."

"That's great! Congratulations." I say genuinely.

"Thank you, Harlow. It means a lot. I just wish Ji was as excited."

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be." He shakes his head. "I'm not supposed to be telling you my problems. I'm sorry."

"It's fine, Namjoon. We're talking and I'm a great listener. I'm more than just a nanny."

"You're absolutely right. You're a very good friend."

"Exactly." I grin. "So if you need to vent, I'm all ears."

"Well in that case," Namjoon straightens his posture. "Please let me know if I'm talking to much."

"You got it."

"Okay. You've been in a relationship, right?"

I raise my eyebrow, a bit confused. "Yeah? A few."

"Alright. And in those relationships, you've been there to lift each other up?"

"Most definitely."

"Right. So in marriage, it's that, times 10. But I feel as though my wife is disinterested. I don't get the uplift that I should. And it isn't me being overly sensitive."

I nod, letting his words soak in. "Jiwon seems a bit distant. If you don't mind me saying that."

"So you've noticed, too." Namjoon chuckles humorlessly. "It isn't just with me. With the kids, too. That's why they're so glued to you."

My eyes widen at what he's saying. Jiwon is a nice lady, strict, but she's okay. I'm never around when they're both there with the kids so I'm not able to see what he's talking about. But it is true. The kids are stuck to me whenever I'm around.

"Have you talked to Jiwon about this?"

Namjoon shakes his head. "I'm not sure how to bring the topic up to her. I don't want her to feel like I'm trying to attack her, or question her mothering. I don't want her feelings being hurt."

"I get that." I nod in agreement. "But what about you? What about your feelings? Yours are just as important as hers, Namjoon. For the well being of your emotional state, these things have to be brought up. Now, I haven't been married, but I know how important and crucial communication is."

"Yeah, you're right."

"I'd suggest you do it soon. You wouldn't want things to get worse."

"I will. Thank you, Harlow."

I smile at him, receiving one back. "My pleasure."

We sit in a comfortable silence, watching as the kids continue to play. My mind is processing the conversation in between time. I want to talk to Jiwon myself. Ask her what's going on, have like a whole woman heart-to-heart. It isn't the greatest idea though because none of it is my business and Jiwon and I aren't close like that. Hell, we barely speak. Namjoon is who I talk to most.

"Are you busy this weekend?" He breaks the silence.

I shake my head. "Not that I'm aware of."

"Could you come over and watch the kids for the weekend? I'm going to take you up on your advice. I'm going to take Jiwon out of town for the weekend. A nice getaway, and gave a talk."

"Of course." I smile. My mediocre advice is making a difference already. "What day?"

"Friday. We're going to stay until Monday. If all goes well, that is. I'll make sure groceries are stocked and the kids clothes are washed."

"Sounds good to me."

Most people have a hard time dealing with CEO's. They're normally pictured as entire pompous assholes that care about nothing but themselves and the money they make. And it tends to boil over into their personal lives. Namjoon is different. He's very kind and caring. He treats everyone, in and out of the office with respect. He's a very successful man, while remaining humble and grounded. Not to mention, he's a great family man. Jiwon is lucky, and I feel as though she may be taking a man like that for granted. I can only wish to have someone like Namjoon love me one day.

About an hour passes when Namjoon finally gets the kids and tells them we're leaving. They walk me all the way home and I smile as I'm being hugged tightly by the two.

"Friday at noon." Namjoon smiles. "Let me know if you need a ride."

"I should have my car back by then. Thank you." I give him a quick side hug, then was goodbye to them as I make my way into my home.

"Ready to go home?" Namjoon asks his kids.

"Is mommy home?" Jae asks him, looking over to his sister.

"Yes."

"Then no daddy." Jin says. "She was mad."

"I know. But we have to go home and check on mommy."

Jin huffs dramatically. "Fine. Okay."

Namjoon smiles sympathetically at his children and holds their hand as they begin to walk in the direction of their home.

Please don't be mad at me! I feel like this chapter didn't come out right, even after I made so many changes 😭 I'll try making the next chapter better, I promise! If you did find some kind of entertainment, feel free to like & leave me your lovely comments. Thank you for bearing with me even tho I'm so damn busy! 💜💜
