Chapter Seventeen
Aces POV:
My weeks in Arkham following my encounter with Griffin were almost unbearable. Almost. Of course, I hardly slept because when I did my nightmares were filled with images of my father leaving me trapped here forever and no longer wanting me. That was my worst fear, so I went days on end without rest. In addition, my lack of sleep and eating caused me to get very weak and sick, but I didn't mind to much because I still had Griffin visiting my cell every day. He would look through the bars with his signature smirk, making my heart flutter. There was something about Griffin that made me feel safe even in this horrible place. He began to realize that I was fairly harmless, so he was able to visit me without having to fear for his safety. We would talk for hours on end, his presence being the only thing keeping me sane.
No amount of conversation could save me from the cold dark nights when the image of my father crowded my thoughts, tormenting me. He was my whole world, and without him here to protect me and love me I felt completely lost. Despite the new feelings I have developed for Griff, I needed my father to come back for me. But as every day is passing, it seems less and less likely. My faith in him is slowly diminishing, and that kills me.
"Hey cutie."
My head snaps up to meet eyes with Griff. I instantly smile and limp over to the bars. "Hey Griff. I missed ya." "Me too princess, me too." My cheeks heated up as I looked down at my feet. "Hey now. Don't hide your face, you're adorable." I looked up at him through my eyelashes and smiled. "So Ace, I have an idea..." I raise my eyebrow at him, prompting him to continue. "Look, I know that you don't belong here. I think it's unfair that you're locked up. So I'm gonna help you break out." My jaw dropped. Was this guard really going to help me sneak out? "That...that would be amazing. Can you really do that?" "Sweetheart, I would do anything for you. Ill have you out by the end of the night. Be ready." He winks and begins to walk away, before I call him back. As he approaches the bars, I lean forward and kiss him lightly on the lips. "Thanks Griff" I lightly smile. "Anything for my girl."

J's POV
"Boys, tonight we are going to break out my daughter." I addressed my group of goons. We have spent weeks devising the perfect plan, and we are finally ready. This has to go as smoothly as possible. We can't afford for a single thing to go wrong. "Does everyone remember the plan?" The group of men grunted yes, causing me to grin. "By the end of the night, Ill have Ace back home."
