My shift was going to end in a few minutes, so I went to take out the garbage and clean up my station. There were a lot of people outside tonight, I'd heard that there was a big concert or something.
I felt someone come up behind me and wrap their arms around my waist. A familiar scent of clean laundry filled my nostrils. "Hi Dylan."
"How are you boo?"
My brother's best friend since third grade was an absolute sweetheart. He was two years older than me, and he swears that he doesn't have a thing for me, but everyone and their uncle knew he did.
"I'm good, shift ends in a few. Want anything before I leave?"
"Nah I'm fine. I had a big lunch." He shuffled his feet. "There's a concert tonight at the Staples Center. Do you wanna come with me? I have two front row tickets."
"Who's playing?"
"I'm going for the opening act. It's only the best band ever, Streetlight Glow."
He had been obsessing over them ever since their first album was released three years ago.
"Of course it is." I shook my head, "Fine, I'll go with you. Let me go home and change."

Dylan led me to the line that was quickly growing. Doors had opened a few minutes prior and I guess everyone who was coming decided to do so right when we were arriving.
The majority of the crowd consisted of females between the ages of 12 and 25. A lot of them were wearing Dr. Martens, Vans, or Converse and were dressed in 'punk rock' attire.
I felt right at home with my red and black checkered pants, black crop top, and white Converse.
"Who's the main band?" I asked Dylan as we walked up to the door.
"No idea. Never heard of them before."
He handed our tickets to the person at the door who scanned them for us. Luckily I didn't bring a bag with me, so we could pass right through the metal detectors with no problem.
I'd been in the Staples Center a few times prior, twice for Panic! At the Disco, once for Twenty-One Pilots, once for Shawn Mendes, and three times for Taylor Swift.
Dylan and I made our way through the crowd and down to the floor where our seats were. Music was blaring in my ears and the security had little flashlights to help guide our way. When we got to our seats, the stage was literally right there. If I reached out my hand and the performer reached out theirs, we'd be touching fingertips.
I sat down in my seat and looked around. There was so much energy buzzing around the arena. Dylan had struck up a conversation with the couple next to him about football and I decided to scroll through my phone for a while.
When the show started, Dylan began screaming like a little girl. His favorite band came charging on stage. Not gonna lie, Streetlight Glow was pretty attractive. They seemed to be a mix between rock and pop punk.
I'd been forced to listen to their music almost every single time I saw Dylan, so I knew all the melodies and harmonies to their songs like the back of my hand. And they were pretty good live.
The singer made eye contact with Dylan a few times and I thought he was going to faint.
Once the band played their last song, the crowd cheered and sat back in their seats.
"Wasn't that fantastic?!" Dylan grabbed my hand.
"Yeah, they were really great." I nodded and he grinned.
"I'm so glad you liked it."
"You blaring all their songs 24/7 helped me to learn the lyrics."
"You're welcome."
"I'm gonna go to the bathroom. Be right back." I got up and made my way up the aisle and through the haze that had settled.
There was a shorter wait than I had expected, but it was still around 10 minutes. As I was walking back to my seat, my eye caught a glimpse of the poster for the main band...
What?!?!
My heart stopped as I took a closer look at one of the band members. His blue hair and dark eyes stuck out like red flags.
I can't stay. I'm in the front row and he'll see me!!
I sped back to my seat to tell Dylan goodbye.
"You're back!"
"Yeah, I have to go."
"No no, the band is st-" he was cut off by the lights dimming and the crowd cheering.
My heart began pounding as Dylan held on to my arm. I wasn't going to be able to get out of this very easily. Maybe I can sneak out in the middle of their set or something.
The tall guy with black hair who came into the bakery the other day, Ashton, strolled on to the stage and towards a drum kit. To my horror, the blue haired guy, Daddy, stalked up to the microphone that was directly in front of me and Dylan.
He looked down and recognition flashed across his face. I blushed as he smirked and started playing his bass. A song I'd heard before started being played and I didn't know whether to scream or let my anxiety attack run its course.
To help blend in, I tried to have as much energy as all the other fans. The band played another song, and then there was a pause in the music.
"Los Angeles, let's fuckin' dance."
Okay, that was kinda hot. Never gonna tell anyone though. Mr. blue hair began singing and I had to keep myself from smiling. He had an amazing voice. And those eyes, my god!
"It don't matter just as long as I get all you tonight." When the curly haired, blonde singer sang those words, the bassist winked at me.
I could feel Dylan tense up. I blushed as bright red as my pants and looked down at the ground. The song was drowned out by the intense stares that were periodically given from the man right in front of me.
"Hey! Thank you for coming out tonight! We're 5 Seconds of Summer!" The lead singer shouted as the song ended.
I didn't recognize the next couple songs they played, but I stayed hyped up. At one point, the bassist came over to the edge of the stage and got down on one knee.
Everyone around me started screaming and calling out the name, "Calum!"
He smiled at the audience. Then he made eye contact with me, stuck his tongue out and kitten licked upwards.
I could feel my legs going weak and my mind was starting to travel to places I know it shouldn't. But what the hell, right? He's hot.
I fucking swear Mollie! You keep thinking like this and he'll have you in his bed by tonight.
There was no way I'd ever be a groupie. Not like I would ever have the chance. I don't think I could travel around with a band, bills need to be paid and such.
At last, the show was over. 5 Seconds of Summer took their bows and walked off stage right. Dylan looked mad as he put his jacket on.
"That douche couldn't keep his eyes off of you."
"Take a chill pill Dyl. For all you know, it could have been directed at the person behind me."
"Oh no, it was definitely at you. And the tongue thing to top it off!"
A security guard I hadn't seen before approached us. "Will you come with me please?"
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"Calum would like to officially meet you."
Ha! I think the fuck not you horny trick ass bitch!
I crossed my arms and stood my ground. "You can let him know that if he wants to meet me, he knows where to find me."
With that, I pulled Dylan along with me out of the arena and out into the warm summer air.
"See what I mean?!" He shrieked, "That Calum dude was checking you out! And what's with the whole 'knows where to find me'?"
"He came into the shop all this week."
"I should come by the next time he does so I can scare him off."
"No no, you're good, I have this covered." I patted his arm.
"I swear Moll, if I ever see that Calum guy hanging around you, he's gonna get it."
"Protective are we?" I raised an eyebrow. I loved Dylan like a brother, hopefully he knew that.
"You're special to me, what can I say."
I pursed my lips and turned around to pretend like I was looking for something. My car was parked on the other side of the building, so luckily I had an excuse to leave him behind.
"Well, I should probably go now. I'll see you later Dylan."
He nodded and gave me a big hug. We parted ways and I followed the sidewalk that curved around the arena. Other fans were walking in the same direction I was, most likely to try to find the band's tour bus.
When I finally reached my car, I saw someone walking towards me. I don't think they saw me at first. Their face was covered by a dark bucket hat that was pulled down low over their head.
I began fumbling with my keys and didn't see the person come up next to me.
"Enjoy the show princess?"
I screamed and dropped everything that was in my hands, being my phone and car keys. The voice jogged a vivid memory from earlier that I wanted to forget.
"You're Calum, right?" I bent down to pick up my stuff.
"At your service. And I don't believe I've had the pleasure?" He took a few steps closer and stared at me with his dark eyes.
"Mollie, my name is Mollie."
"It's nice to meet you Mollie." My name rolled off his tongue and made my breath hitch in my chest.
He stared at me a moment and then started to walk away. "I'll see you tomorrow. Save me three chocolate cupcakes."
What is going on??
