My day started out as normal as any other. Woke up at 8:45am, got ready to go to my university class, tried not to fall asleep in the middle of the dry ass lecture, then hurried to work.

I was fortunate enough to work for my best friend's parents. They owned a bakery right in the middle of the always smoggy Los Angeles. I've seen my fair share of celebrities come through. Usually none of the big ones though, mainly YouTubers or people who act like they're all that.

I didn't get the whole fame thing, celebrities are just ordinary people. They just happen to be liked by everyone because of the work they do or how much money they make.

At 20 years old, I pretty much had nothing figured out except for what I wanted to do as a permanent occupation. It had always been my dream ever since I was little to be a freelance photographer.

Although, living in LA made it hard because everyone either wanted to be famous or the people who photographed or dressed the famous people. I wanted to have my own studio and do wedding, family, or graduation shoots.

I sighed and slung my backpack over my shoulder. Summer finals were coming up in a couple weeks and I was ready to have a short break before the semester started all over again.

I had to take two classes this summer, anatomy for art, and photoshop editing. They were both interesting, I just didn't love looking at naked people for an hour and a half twice a week.

My car waited for me in the almost empty parking lot of my university. It was a beat up old thing that had seen better days, but it was reliable. I drove to the bakery just in time for my shift.

Tessa, my best friend, was taking orders in the front as I came out of the back tying my apron strings into a floppy bow.

"Mollie, order up!!" She yelled. "And glad you could finally make it."

"I'm a minute early!" I exclaimed and threw my hands up in defense.

I sped over to the ticket that was being printed and looked at it. The customer wanted four cupcakes and eight brownies to-go. When I glanced at the name I would have to call out, I groaned.

Who the fuck thinks it's funny to be called Daddy??

There was no way I'd be caught dead calling out that name in the middle of the busy shop. I brushed my hair out of my face and began assembling the drink.

Once it was finished, I strolled over to the counter and put the bagged food down. No one came up to claim it right away. I bit the inside of my cheek and swallowed my pride. Whoever's drink this is deserves a kick in the balls.

"Order for Daddy!"

My face flushed bright red as the whole entire bakery turned to stare at me. A man, not much older than I was, locked eyes with me and made his way over to the counter.

Damn, he's hot. Definitely daddy material. Wait... what are you thinking?! He just embarrassed you in front of all your customers!

The mysterious man with short hair that was dyed blue grabbed his drink and smirked at me. "Thank you kitten."

Excuse me?!

"Have a nice day sir."

"Oh I will," he called over his shoulder as he walked away.

Wait, is he Australian?

Tessa scurried over to me. She had a huge grin plastered on her face. "So who was that?"

I rolled my eyes for what felt like the millionth time in the past five minutes. "Some customers think it's funny to embarrass the employees."

"At least he was hot!"

"No he wasn't."

"Oh shut up Moll. You know he was."

I raised my palm to slap her, "Say that again."

"You know he was hot... and total daddy material." She smirked and raised an eyebrow.

My hand came down on her arm and she squealed. "Fuck you Mollie. You know I'm right."

Of course she was right! Was I ever going to admit that to her? Probably not.

"When I asked for a name, he took one look at you and replied with a dead serious expression. I think he wanted to hear you say that."

"Fuck you and fuck him." I started to walk away.

"Well I have a boyfriend, but I'm sure he'd love to if you asked nicely!"

I flipped her off and stalked into the back to frost some cupcakes. Yeah, of course the dude was attractive, shit, he was even hot, but I feel like he's the kind of guy to sleep with a girl once and act like he's never seen her before the next morning.

As much as I was trying to convince myself to get over him, my mind kept wandering. The way the corners of his mouth lifted to form that million dollar smirk. His hair, freshly dyed the brightest blue. The way his eyes sparkled with mischief. His hands, oh what he could do with them.

Fuck. Stop it.

I groaned and focused my attention back to the naked cupcake that was waiting for me to dress it with flowers.

What felt like hours later, Tessa came sprinting into the room. "HE'S BACK AND HE'S WITH HIS HOT FRIENDS!!!"

"What are you-"

"COME WITH ME!! Your daddy wants you."

"No," I yanked my arm out of her grasp. "Fuck him."

"I already told you, ask him nicely and he'll probably say yes! Plus I guess he's the only single one in the group, so you're in luck."

I did really want to go out there, but was I going to just waltz out? Absolutely not. "I'll be out in a second to get their stuff. What do they want?"

"Seven cupcakes."

I nodded and wiped my hands on my apron. After giving myself the ok in the mirror, I took a deep breath and walked through the swing doors. Sure enough, sitting at one of our larger tables, sat the blue haired guy from earlier along with his friends.

Huffing, I got to work boxing up their items. Just to mess with him, I scrawled on the top of his box, 'To: Daddy'. I knew I was asking for it, but whatever man.

Once I tied all the boxes with pink ribbons, I bagged them and set them on the counter. "I have an order for Ashton!!"

A man with black hair looked up at me and nodded. He walked over with the rest of the group and crowded around the counter.

"Thank you very much."

I smiled and tried to avoid eye contact with the pair of dark eyes that were staring at me. "Have a nice day everyone!"

The seven of them walked out together and I did end up locking eyes with the guy from earlier. I don't even know what to call him, I didn't know his name. Definitely didn't plan on referring to him as 'Daddy' though.

"Okay, I'm gonna take my break now! I need some fresh air after seeing that hunk." Tessa fanned herself with her apron.

"Who?"

"The one with the black hair."

"Ashton? Yeah he's pretty cute."

"I'm going to find some holy water to wash out all my sinful thoughts. Be right back." I snorted as she scurried into the back.

The rest of the day went by pretty quickly. Nothing interesting happened, it rarely ever does. The shop had a few regulars, mostly old people who needed company.

I closed up the shop at 6 o'clock sharp. Another day come and gone. My car was parked out back and its baby blue color was cheerful and inviting. The journey home was short, I lived in a studio apartment not too far away.

As I pulled up, I could hear my neighbors from down the hall screaming about something. They were always fighting and it was more surprising when they were silent since that was definitely a rarity.

I parked my car in the garage and shoved all my things in my pink backpack. This housing complex was right across from another one, and it was funny to look out my window and see people obviously going to the wrong doors for parties and such.

My space was on the fourth floor and overlooked the city. I adored my view, the sunset always painted the sky the most beautiful shades of pink, purple, and orange.

Throughout the rest of the week, the dark skinned man came into the bakery every day and ordered various sweets.

Tessa had gotten so used to him that she started referring to him by the name he would put his order under. Neither one of us knew his real name.

"Order for Daddy!"

The same blue haired guy sauntered up to the counter where I was drumming my fingers. This time, he had ditched his long sleeves and was wearing a black tank top.

Let me tell you right now, I did not keep my mouth closed. It opened involuntarily and I started to feel a pulsing in my core. I rubbed my legs together to try to make the feeling go away.

He had tattoos covering his left arm and a few on his upper chest. And dear god his muscles. They weren't super ripped like a bodybuilder, but were perfectly defined. What does this guy do for a living?

"Thank you darling." He winked at me, obviously knowing the effect he had. "And make sure not to keep those lips parted for too long. Someone might try to fill that space with something."

The FUCK did he just say to me?!

I spun around in order to hide the blush that had stained my face. "Good bye."
