Jimin fastened the gold strap of his watch, making sure that his most expensive Rolex was adjusted perfectly, just like this rest of his attire. The blonde let out a sigh through his nose and looked up into the full body mirror inside Taehyung's bedroom.

Undoubtedly, he looked exquisitely handsome dressed in a pristine, all-black suit. His blonde locks were parted and fixed up, showing the perfect amount of his undercut. He even had his makeup done professionally. He looked nice, and Jimin knew it.

He was used to wearing expensive clothing in his position, but it's been a while since he's dressed so classy. Jimin almost can't remember the last time he got this dolled up for a business celebration. The last time was probably before his father passed away. But something about this specific party or occasion has him on edge to the point that he can't even properly admire himself for too long. It didn't feel right.

His phone started buzzing inside his jacket. He pulled it out to see Jungkook's picture lit up on the screen. Jungkook must have forgotten how busy he was supposed to be tonight. Jimin quickly swiped the red emoticon away to reject the call, missing the fact that Jungkook has tried to call him several times already...

Taehyung walked out of the master closet in that moment, buttoning the last of the buttons on his sleeve before looking up at his boyfriend. "Jiminie, are you ready to go? We don't want to be late."

"Yeah, I'm ready." Jimin nodded.

"You look handsome, as usual." Taehyung leaned forward and left a quick peck on Jimin's cheek before grabbing his wallet, phone, and keys off of his nightstand, stuffing them into his gray suit pants pockets.

Admittedly, Jimin thought Taehyung looked extremely handsome as well with his hair neatly slicked back, exposing his forehead. The young man was reeking of confidence, appearing like he was someone of a high position, which was fitting for the event tonight since they would be announcing his promotion. He already looked the part; intimidating in all the right ways. Jimin felt an odd shiver go down his spine.

"Let's go!" Taehyung motioned for Jimin to walk out first, following closely behind the smaller male and keeping a hand on his lower back.

One by one, Min Yoongi fixed the buttons of the navy blue blazer of his suit, or more like the suit that Park Jiwoo purchased for him.

His legal wife hasn't stopped babbling about tonight's event for over two weeks now. Apparently, Kim Taehyung's promotion is a really big deal for not only The Kim's Group, but also for Park Industries, which means that it must be a big deal for Park Jimin as well. The last thing Yoongi wanted to do was sit through an event revolving around Taehyung's career, while he flaunted his relationship with Jimin.

But he didn't have a choice in the matter.

As though she could hear his thoughts, Park Jiwoo snaked her hand around Yoongi's arm. "You look perfect to accompany me tonight." She spoke in a low voice that gave away her ripening age. Though with her expensive skin care treatments, she looks at least five years younger than her actual age of fifty.

She stood beside him in the mirror, admiring the two of them together.

Tonight, Jiwoo was dressed elegantly. Her gown was a deep shade of violet. It cinched her right at the waist and flowed down to the ground gracefully. She wore stiletto heels that made her just about Yoongi's height. Her freshly dyed dark hair was pulled back into an updo, being held together by a flashy jeweled pin.

With her appearance like this, Yoongi can clearly see where Jimin gets his pretty looks from. The thought makes him shiver in disgust. The whole situation was all kinds of messed up.

"You look nice," he mutters. She tightens her grip around his arm.

"Your flattery is weak, my dear," she rolled her eyes and patted his shoulder while she stepped away. "Let's get going. The car is waiting outside."

When they pulled up to the building, Yoongi couldn't help but be in awe by the extravagance of the venue that The Kim's Group is hosting the celebration at. They pulled up to the valet, and his mouth about dropped to the floorboard but he maintained himself, making sure to look sophisticated enough to be the man beside Park Jiwoo of all people.

This was a very public event, so Yoongi needed to be on his very best behaviour in order to not embarrass the infamous Park Jiwoo and Park Industries. It was hard to keep his composure, though, when this place was just too fascinatingly fancy.

The building was exceptionally large, the outside resembling a modern castle. There were many steps that led into the main entrance with a red carpet to lead the way. Many reporters were outside the building, trying to snap as many pictures of the well-known, wealthy people as they could. He knew that many of them must be gossiping about how a post middle-aged woman could snatch up such a handsome, young male. Most probably knew that there must be money involved, but neither Jiwoo or Yoongi didn't pay them any mind. He was too distracted by the architecture of the place, or maybe it was that he was trying to keep his mind off of something... or someone...

The event was taking place inside the main dining hall or ballroom. Inside, there was a crowd of people scurrying around to find their designated seats. There were round tables all over the room for all of the guests, and at the very front, there was a stage with a podium. It was probably where all of the evening's boring speeches were going to be held.

Jiwoo had Yoongi awkwardly greet a few people he's assuming are important investors of the company before they finally found their way to their table, which was neatly set for the evening meal and had an overpriced floral arrangement in the center. The table was set for six, while most of the other tables in the hall had place settings for nine to ten people.

He gulped. Yoongi had a pretty good idea who the other four people at their table were supposed to be.

Right on time, the lighting in the hall dimmed, which alerted a majority of the guests to quickly find their seats. That talkative noise across the space died down into hushed chatters. But as a set of double doors opened at the front of the room, the quieter atmosphere was replaced by a large surge of applause when the CEO of The Kim's Group stepped out, accompanied by his wife.

Mr. Kim looked exactly like what the typical old CEO of a Korean Drama looked like. He fit the part to a tee. He didn't wear a modern suit, but instead, a suit that resembled a traditional hanbok. His wife, Taehyung's mother, chose a dress that complimented her husband's attire.

Her wide smile reflected her age by the small wrinkles on the corner of eyes. She looked incredibly friendly, while her husband held a firm state of arrogance. He kept his hands clasped in front of him and only kept a slight smile while the applause continued.

Yoongi was so distracted by the old, important couple that he didn't even notice there were two more people following behind them. So when a flash of blonde hair caught his attention, his heart rate sped up. He worried that his ribcage wasn't going to be able to hold in place from how fast it was going. It was from both a combination of nerves, since he hasn't seen the young male since he ended everything that they had had, but also from the longing he couldn't shake for the boy.

And god, did Jimin look so pretty. It only made this all so much harder, especially when the four of them approached his table. Jimin kept his head down, probably attempting to avoid any sort of eye contact with him, and Yoongi can't blame him.

Yoongi was so distracted that when Jiwoo asked him to introduce himself, he didn't notice. "Ahem!" She cleared her throat, patting his thigh.

"Oh!" he startled. "I'm sorry, Min Yoongi." He stood and politely bowed to Mr. Kim and his wife. "Nice to see you Jimin, Taehyung..."

Taehyung gave a civil nod in return, but Jimin remained with his head down, twiddling his thumbs below the table. "Don't be rude," Yoongi could hear Taehyung mumble to the blonde, "Greet your mother and her husband."

Jimin looked up, choosing to only look at his mother. "Hi, mom. You look nice." His smile didn't meet his eyes in the slightest.

"Long time, no see, my sweet boy." They were clearly words for show. "You've found yourself some new independence, but I haven't seen you for almost two months. Why don't you come visit me at the house sometime soon?"

Jimin curtly nodded, not fully playing into her charade.

Jiwoo ignored him, though. "It's so good to see you, Taehyung. You've grown to be so handsome, tall too. I can't help but admire you when you look so nice next to my son. You two fit so well together."

"I agree," Taehyung's mom contributed. "Jimin has grown up so well too. Our boys make such a charming couple. I can't wait to see you both on a magazine cover together." She smiled, hers being the most genuine of them all.

Yoongi ignored the chatter, his heart aching at every added word. It stung, but this is how it was meant to be. He poked at his food that was delivered by the staff to the table. The food was expensive and was probably delectable, but he didn't have an appetite.

He glanced up, and of course, Jimin was sitting in the chair directly across from his. He seemed to have lost his appetite too, pushing around the vegetables on his plate like a toddler. His gaze lost on his plate. He only took a bite when Taehyung reached over with his own fork topped with mashed potatoes and beef, feeding it to him.

Eventually, Mr. Kim stood from his place, after he had finished eating, and excused himself, but his looming presence wasn't missed because he strided toward the front to make his welcoming speech at the podium.

He tapped the mic a few times to gather the crowd's attention, which was followed by a light applause before he began. "Ladies and Gentleman, thank you for coming this evening. On behalf of The Kim's Group, I welcome you to enjoy the rest of this evening with dessert, dancing and laughter. But first, I want to say a few words..."

Yoongi blocked out the rest of what the old man had to say, instead choosing to divert his attention to the man with a fair face and kind, dark eyes, smooth, tan skin, and pretty, long lashes. Yoongi couldn't help but notice how the boy looked more tired today than he had last seen him. Although Jimin wore makeup, he could just barely see the dark circles from underneath his eyes.

He was frowning, too, and Yoongi wonders if he is the sole cause for that. A part of him wishes that he wasn't, but then that would mean Jimin wasn't happy where he is now. Yoongi doesn't want that either.

"Congratulations, Kim Taehyung, my boy, on becoming the Vice President of The Kim's Group! You've worked hard, and you've earned it." The entire hall cheered in congratulations, which snapped Yoongi out of his stupor. Jimin was clapping, a sweet smile on his face as he looked at his boyfriend. Yoongi realized he was supposed to be clapping too.

Taehyung stood up, adjusting his coat, before approaching his father at the podium. He must want to give his own speech as well. He stood beside his father, clearing his throat. Taehyung appeared to be nervous, which was odd from what he had heard about Taehyung's character. Yoongi isn't sure if he was imagining it, but he thought he noticed the young man's hands shaking.

"Ah," he spoke into the microphone. "Thank you all for coming. I am so grateful." He sounded sincere. "I was promoted in the Kim's Group much faster than I had ever anticipated, and I really couldn't have done it without all of your support. I am only twenty-three years old and my life is changing faster than it has ever before, in a good way. With all of these new experiences and opportunities, my life should feel so full and complete. But I can't help but feel like something is missing."

He detached the wireless mic from the podium, and walked down the steps toward the table. And if Yoongi's heart rate wasn't running fast before, it was full on sprinting now because he had a really strong feeling as to what this speech was leading to.

Jimin watched his boyfriend's footsteps toward him suspiciously. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. Taehyung had never mentioned planning an elaborate speech for tonight. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do.

Taehyung stood in front of him and grabbed his hand in front of all of these people. Jimin felt queasy as he looked into Taehyung's eyes, knowing that everyone else's eyes were on him too. Taehyung was about to do something dramatic. Jimin could feel it, and knowing that a certain someone's eyes were probably on him too made it that much worse.

"Jimin, love," he was speaking to him, but everyone else in the space could hear it. "I have been thinking about doing this for a long time. I can't think of a more perfect time than today." Jimin gulped while Taehyung's words echoed throughout the large room. He felt his forehead begin to dot with sweat. "Sweetheart, we've been together for over five years now. We've been together through thick and thin, through really good times and really bad times. We've been together through it all."

Taehyung bent down on one knee, pulling a dainty, velvet box from his suit jacket pocket, and Jimin's whole world stopped. It wasn't in a good way. A dull pain struck through his chest. His breathing grew heavier, but Taehyung didn't seem to notice.

"So will you do me the honor of being together, with me, as we move forward in the future. Jimin, will you marry me?"

Gasps could be heard all around the venue, but none of them met Jimin's ears. Everything sounded as though he were sinking under water. He just hoped that his panic wasn't as evident on his face. He had to say something.

But in this scenario, in front of all of these important investors, in front of Mr. Kim, in front of Taehyung's lovely mother, in front of Park Jiwoo, and even in front of Min Yoongi, there was only one answer he could give...

"Yes," he whispered almost inaudibly.

Hey guys! So omg, I know I'm the worst, and I literally took FOREVER to get the chapter out to you. I apologize for that. I hope this crazy intense chapter made up for it! I know some of you suspected that Taehyung was going to propose, but who was shocked?? Are you shocked about Jimin's answer?

So, not that anyone cares, but work has been absolutely crazy this past month. I don't know if any of you work retail, but this time of the year is insane due to the holiday season. BUT! I just found out that I am being promoted on December 6, and I am so so excited! It makes me feel like all of my hard work has paid off. That being said, I will update as much as I possibly can. With the busy season, and me learning a new position, it might be a little harder, but I promise that I will not abandon my stories. I hope you all understand if updates come out a little slower for a while. But please bear with me!

Thank you, as always, for reading. It makes my heart so incredibly full to know that people actually enjoy my writing (because I really don't think I'm very good). Love you all!
