"Y-you've changed. Your family's company has changed you."
Jungkook's face was set into a frown, his eyes glaring daggers at the older male in front of him.
The Kim Taehyung in this pristine office is not the same Kim Taehyung that he had met several years ago. Within the last year and a half that he's been working alongside his father, Taehyung has drastically changed, and not for the better.
In the beginning, Taehyung's feelings for Jimin were genuine and Jimin's feelings were reciprocated. One glance at either one of their faces and you could tell they were smitten for one another. For Jungkook, it was evident. The couple was inseparable, which of course, sparked a burst of jealousy within Jungkook as his own feelings for Taehyung developed overtime.
But part of the reason Jungkook had easily fallen for the young heir, his best friend's boyfriend, was due to the fact that Taehyung was always so genuine as a person. Even as the son of an incredibly wealthy family, Taehyung had never acted superior over Jungkook. He treated Jungkook as an equal, as a friend.
What baffled Jungkook even more was the fact that Taehyung had never shown so much interest in the Kim's company before. As an eighteen-year-old, Taehyung would complain when his father bothered him about his future internship, going as far as stating that business men were all a bunch of sharks, waiting to sink their teeth into someone for their own benefit.
Which is exactly what he's doing to Jimin now. He's taken the bite and now he's latched on. The reward will be Park Industries.
It's crazy what a little taste of power can do to someone. Taehyung is becoming unrecognizable.
"Maybe I've changed," Taehyung doesn't disagree. "Or maybe I've grown up. I've gotten a taste of the real world... and it runs on money."
Jungkook was starting to feel queasy. If he stayed in this office much longer, he was going to be sick. "I think I'm going to go." His fists clenched and unclenched.
"Fine," Taehyung nodded, not phased by Jungkook's reaction, his eyes set into a dead stare. He watched as Jungkook hurried toward the door, gripping the handle but not pulling it open quite yet.
Originally, there was more Jungkook wanted to say today. Before coming here, he had planned an entire speech to confess his feelings, but Taehyung seemed to already know... and he didn't care. Jungkook gripped the handle until his fist was turning white, gritting his teeth.
He hated leaving this way, but at the same time, there was nothing more he could say. He finally swung the heavy door open and darted out, not daring to glance back the other's way.
Jungkook's mind is a mess when he returns back to his home, locking himself in his bedroom. He got home as fast as he possibly could, so now he's panting, clutching his shirt over his chest as he catches his breath. He's holding back the tears that are trying to break loose, but it's inevitable.
He falls onto the floor, bringing his knees up to his chest, curling into a ball on his carpet as he sobs. He didn't even bother to remove his shoes or his jacket. He just didn't have the will to do anything at the moment.
There's something devastating about discovering the person you admired and loved is not the person you had always thought they were. Jungkook feels as though he was slapped across the face with reality. Kim Taehyung had turned into the very person he had vocalized that he never wanted to be, the kind of person their small friend group detested.
After recouping and wiping the last of his tears with the sleeves of his jacket, Jungkook sat up. Now Jungkook needed to decide what he needed to do with all of the information he had learned today.
Taehyung was aware of Jimin's affair with Min Yoongi, which makes Jungkook wonder for how long. He also wonders how exactly he got this information to begin with. He claimed to have his 'sources' which means someone was either planted to be around Jimin or that Jimin had told someone else and they blabbed. Jungkook can't say much because he was literally about to do the same today.
Knowing Jimin, he probably didn't tell anyone else about his relationship with Yoongi, so it's possible that it's someone who works at the Park Mansion who accidentally saw something they weren't supposed to and then sold the golden information to Taehyung. It made sense.
The question Jungkook was stuck on now was whether or not he should tell his best friend. Should he tell Jimin? Would it benefit the blonde male at all?
When Jungkook really thinks about it, he doesn't think it will do any good.
If Jungkook were to blatantly come out and say, "Hey, I was going to tell your boyfriend of five years that you were actually cheating on him, but it turns out he already knew. And on top of that, he doesn't care because he only wants to marry you for his company's gain," it wouldn't go over very well. At all.
Most likey, Jimin would not only want to terminate his relationship with Taehyung after hearing something like that, but he would more than likely turn around and end his friendship with Jungkook as well. Jungkook selfishly doesn't want to lose anyone else close to him after today.
There's also the part that Taehyung had mentioned about Jimin not being able to break things off with him.
Thinking about it causes Jungkook to shiver, a bright red flag is waving in his head. But it's true.
If Jimin were to try and end his relationship with the Kim's heir, Taehyung could easily expose the evidence of Jimin's affair, ultimately ruining Jimin's reputation as well as Park Industries'. This could destroy Jimin as well as everything Jimin's father has worked so hard to create. The ball is completely and unfairly in Taehyung's court.
And all Jungkook can do for now is sit back and watch it all happen.

Yoongi groaned and tugged at the roots of his dark hair in frustration.
He's been working on the same melody in his studio for several hours now, but no matter what he does, he just can't get it right. Something in the tune is off. He tried changing the type of synth he was using, but that was unhelpful. The synth wasn't the problem. He's tried almost everything he can think of, but the feel he's going for is just not being conveyed correctly.
The original melody that played in his head was lighthearted, radiating with hope, but now the tune has turned cold somehow, lost even.
In frustration, Yoongi shoves himself away from his desk in his swivel chair. He sagged into the seat, resting his head back and loosely hanging his arms on either side of him. It was the pose of giving up.
The expensive studio is equipped with everything he could possibly need to produce anything he could ever dream of, so why was this so damn impossible. What was missing?
The doorbell to the studio rang, followed by a light knock on the door, interrupting his endless, exasperated thoughts.
Park Jiwoo stood on the other side. She smiled at the young male when he opened the door. It was uncommon for the woman to visit him here, so she must need to discuss something with him. Yoongi didn't hesitate to usher her in, motioning for her to take a seat on the leather couch.
She took a moment to glance around the space, probably because she hasn't seen the studio since it's been built. "It's cozy in here."
Yoongi hummed in agreement. For some reason, the atmosphere with his legally bound wife felt tense, turning the usually comfortable room into something more unsettling.
"That's probably why I hardly see you anymore, hm?" The corners of her mouth quirked before forming into a smirk. "We live in the same house, but you're either at work or staying cooped up in here."
The raven-haired male woundn't even attempt to defend himself. He had been spending an excessive amount of time inside the studio Jiwoo gifted to him, and he knew this was the woman's way of subtly reprimanding him.
After Jimin was forced to move out, Yoongi found himself writing music more often than before. The only way he allowed himself to thoroughly process what the blonde boy meant to him was by creating music. He'd rather his feelings be portrayed through song than to ever outwardly express them. As Park Jiwoo's spouse, he could never verbally express them.
"I'm sorry," Yoongi mumbled. He reached forward and grabbed her hand, bringing it up to lips and leaving a soft peck on the back of it. He was walking on eggshells and he knew it. "I'll try to come out of here more often, spend some more time with you at night. Maybe tonight we can watch a movie and cuddle on the couch." He tried to charm her, gripping her hand tighter.
Flattery wouldn't get him too far with her, though. She slipped her slim hand from his hold and crossed her legs elegantly. She looked sophisticated in the way she sat up so straight. Her eyes narrowed, her wrinkles at the creases becoming more prominent. "You'd better. Part of our contract is for you to spend plenty of time with me, intimate time that is. You can't hold up to that if you lock yourself up in here. I'll have to have a chat with Namjoon about lessening your workload again too."
Yoongi only nodded. He's admittedly neglected their arrangement.
"Don't forget who paid for this fancy studio."
How could Yoongi ever forget? When he thinks about it too much, he feels disgusted with himself. "Yes, ma'am."
The woman smiled in satisfaction. "Scolding you is not the only reason I stopped by here." Of course it wasn't. Park Jiwoo was a busy woman who valued her time and always found the best use of it. If she had multiple things to discuss, it would have to be unloaded all at once.
"What is it?" Yoongi wondered.
"I need you to completely free your schedule the Saturday after next. I have an event to go to, and you have to accompany me." Yoongi could tell it was an important event by the way Jiwoo's tone didn't waver. She sounded pretty serious, so clearly this was not something he could find a way out of.
"It's a formal event the Kim's Group is holding. It's a celebration for some of their changes in leadership. Their son, Taehyung, has really stepped up, so I believe they'll be promoting him. Mr. Kim personally invited us, so we have to make an appearance. It's important for our businesses."
Yoongi gulped. If this was an event for the Kim's Group, then that meant a certain someone would be there to accompany Kim Taehyung... someone he's not sure if he's ready to see again.
Park Jimin.
