SHOPPING LIST

MIN YOONGI HAD a way of doing things. he was the man with a plan. for literally everything. at age seventeen, he had mapped out his life and was sticking to every single detail in his plan, save for one simple deviation years ago.

this was not part of his plan. his maid calling in sick the day she was meant to restock on groceries was an unforeseen inconvenience. it meant that he would have to do the shopping himself and perhaps cook his own dinner or preferably, order in. on the plus side, miss lee had previously written down a shopping list just the day before so he knew what he had to get.

a soft sigh slipping past his lips, yoongi grabbed the piece of paper that had been held to the fridge door by a magnet. his eyes brushed over the words quickly before he left the kitchen, grabbing his sweater and phone on the way out.

getting into the elevator, he began to reorganise his schedule in his head. phone in hand, his fingers swiped over the screen as he fixed the new schedule in his calendar. it was the weekend but it didn't mean that he didn't have work to do.

the light ding of the elevator as it opened to the reception caused him to lift his head. walking through the large marbled space, he nodded at the receptionist who greeted him. "the valet has brought your car to the front, mr min." she informed with a smile. "have a good day, mr min." the security pushed the glass doors of the apartment building open. "thank you." yoongi replied as he stepped out.

taking the key from the valet, yoongi slipped into his car. a frown marred his soft features as the engine sputtered to life. he had other things he could be doing instead of driving to the grocery store. he still had to test run lune's new app himself to confirm that there were no bugs or issues. and he was meant to have a virtual conference meeting later that day which he needed to prepare for. but his schedule had been thrown off.

the drive was short and he pulled up in the parking lot of the large store. yoongi stepped out with a sigh, eyeing the building in front of him. he couldn't remember the last time he'd been at a grocery store. not since his tech company had become a big success, at least. probably even before then. he had been busy for as long as he could remember and barely had time for such mundane activities as going out for groceries.

once he was inside, shopping cart in hand, it dawned on yoongi. his eyes scanning the list in one hand, he realised he didn't know the right brands for some of the items on the list. the ones he knew, were simply because they were his preference. the other brands were from miss lee's knowledge and experience. and how was he to know what type of meat was the better option?

throwing his head back in frustration, a groan left his small rosy lips. he pulled his phone out, dialling miss lee's number. he sauntered through the first aisle as the phone rang. "hello?" miss lee's soft voice came through the line. "hello, miss lee. i hope you're resting well and getting treatment."

"yes, i am. thank you, mr min." she responded. "i'm sorry to bother you when you aren't feeling up to par. but i decided to do the grocery shopping and i realised i don't know what brands you buy or how to know the meat and vegetables are good."

it was light but he heard the small chuckle of amusement in her voice. "i'll make a detailed list and send it to you now." she answered with a small cough. "thank you, miss lee." he replied gratefully. "get well soon." he added before ending the call.

blowing air out of his pursed lips, yoongi began to shop for items on the list that he could manage on his own. his eyes scanned over the different types of coffee, trying to find the brand he liked. smiling when he found it, he picked the pack of coffee off the shelf, placing it in his cart.

just then, his phone buzzed with the notification of a new text message. it was from miss lee. sighing in relief that he could now get things done faster, he began to move on to the next aisle. if it weren't for his quick reflexes, he would have crashed into a woman who kept glancing behind her as she walked into the aisle.

"oh, i'm so sorry!" she gasped when her gaze shifted ahead and managed to stop herself before bumping into his cart. he waved it off, watching her move out of his way. "haneul, stay close! you don't want to get lost!" she called as he made his way to the next aisle. "coming!" the tiny voice reached his ears before he slipped out of sight.

humming a tune, yoongi scanned through the shelves. his gaze flickered between the list and the shelf, trying to find the specified brand. just as his eyes fell on what he was searching for, he felt a light tug on his jeans. but he didn't think much of it, too caught up in finishing his shopping early. grabbing the package, he dropped it in his cart.

another tug on his jeans finally made him glance down. big round brown eyes that practically sparkled stared back at him.
