About last night;
Left, right, left, right-, Jungkook had been walking up and down his small apartment at least thirty times now, repeating the words he was going to say in his mind over and over again.
It was almost 8 pm, Taejeon wanted to go back to bed early today luckily, after his father told him he wouldn't get to see Taehyung in a while, Taejeon just started crying, yelled at Jungkook for always ruining everything and then went to bed.
His mind kept dazing off to Taehyung. How his face dropped when Jungkook just left like this, breaking a heart he cared so much about as if it was nothing. That's what it seemed like and Jungkook tried to not think of it.
He always did that whenever he was in denial. If you don't say it, it's not real and if you close your eyes from something, it goes away. Jungkook always lived this way, he didn't know anything else. No matter how hard he'd try, he'd never be a person Taehyung deserved to be with and he knew that.
Maybe it was meant to be that way.
And to ensure himself of this, Jungkook held the small ring in his shaking fingers. The ring he got from Lyza's parents a while ago, when her father came up with the idea of them marrying. It never left Jungkook's mind since that day. And what would be a better way to stop running back to Taehyung if it wasn't a wife at home?
Marriage was something else, it's not being lovey dovey. When you marry someone, you're committed to this one person and Jungkook knew he needed something like this to force himself out of his bad habits he tended to fall for again whenever Taehyung walked up to him.
It needed to stop, Jungkook made a choice. When he left the apartment of his once best friend, he didn't just leave a room. He left a life, a heart. Probably with no return-button.
And he'd make sure of this.
A key unlocked the door, slowly opening up. Seconds later Lyza walked in. She cut her hair short, dyed it brown-ish and looked somehow really different. "Lyza", Jungkook said softly, smiling a little when she bit her lips awkwardly, placing her bag on the floor next to her.
"You bought flowers", she mentioned, glancing at the bouqet of roses Jungkook placed on the kitchen counter behind them.
He nodded, "Y-yeah I-I-", he started but got so nervous when he thought of what he was going to do next.
Lyza raised an eyebrow, a small sigh escaping her lips. "And you're here", she hummed, biting her lips again.
Jungkook looked down while walking up to her.
He slowly kneeled down, cheeks flushing red as he looked up to her, "Lyza-"
The girl's eyes widened, "N-no, what are you doing-", she asked quietly, shocked by his sudden actions.
"I'm sorry for everything I put us through", Jungkook started, gulping dryly. "I have no fucking idea how this works-", he stuttered, pulling out the small ring again.
"But let's j-just start over. Let's try again", he asked in a small voice. "Would you want to..-", he gulped one last time, finding it hard to actually say it.
"Marry me?", he finally said, smiling awkwardly.
Lyza stayed still, looking at him a little judgingly. "Did you break things off with him?", she only asked, eyebrows furrowed.
Jungkook literally felt a knot inside his stomach just hearing her talk about Taehyung. But he nodded, "Y-yeah, it's over. I swear", he whispered.
"Fine, then yes. Yeah I'll marry you", she said quietly.
There wasn't any excitement coming up from both sides. They just gave each other a smile and Jungkook put the ring on her finger, getting up from his knees. "Taejeon will finally have married parents", he mumbled, eyes trailing down while he held the girl's hand.
"Don't act like it's about him", Lyza said and then pulled her hand back, walking over to the sofa. "You didn't come back to me because of the kid, Jungkook. You know that", she chuckled dryly.
The boy stared at her for a while, then sat down next to her. He eyed her neck for a while, there were small hickeys which she obviously tried to cover with powder and concealer.
Her lips were a bit swollen and somehow she looked a bit more womanly? Jungkook wasn't sure what it was, maybe just the new hair-, but she was even more intimidating now.
"What do you mean with that?", he asked in a small voice, not mentioning her obvious cheating. Who would he be to get mad over this when he did it himself? Right, he'd be nothing but a stupid clown.
"You don't want to be with Taehyung, Kook. You want to be with me or any other girl in this world", she hummed, giving him a sad smile. "Sadly what you want and what you need can often be totally different things."
"I don't need Taehyung either. I don't know what was wrong with me."
Jungkook quickly brushed the thought off, gritting his teeth.
"Nothing's wrong with you", Lyza laughed a little. "The only thing wrong about you is your desperate wish to be something you're not, besides from that you're one of the sweetest, most caring guys I ever met." She patted his shoulders.
"Why did you say yes if you think I'm pretending to be something I'm not?", Jungkook then asked. "Obviously you had some fun without me. Why not stick with him?"
Lyza kept her mouth shut, "None of your business, Jungkook. You're one to talk after you cheated on me for weeks", she gulped dryly.
"You didn't stick with him because you don't want to be with anyone but me. It's not about me either, you never really liked me. You want a normal family, that's all your heart wishes for and that's the only reason you're not leaving me after all the bullshit I've pulled. None of this is about the kid, you stay because you want a family since your parents never felt like home."
Lyza looked away, not saying a word.
"I'm right, huh?", Jungkook asked quietly. "So you're no better. You're pretending as much as I do. You could easily find another guy to raise a child with. Taejeon would be fine, but you don't want that. You want this with me because I felt like home once."
"You were there when I had the worst times, of course you feel like home to me, Jungkook", Lyza hummed, breaking down inside because he was just right. Actually both of them were right with their words, they just proved again how good they knew each other. Not surprising after spending 6 years together nonstop.
"We can make this right", Jungkook smiled, reaching for her hand again. "Just give us a chance, yeah? Taehyung is gone, everything will be easier now."
The girl took his hand but only gave him a weak laugh, "Nothing is easier after leaving home." That was all she said but Jungkook knew what she meant.
"Sometimes it's for the best. In some cases", Jungkook looked down.
While Jungkook felt like home to Lyza, Taehyung was the one Jungkook would call home.
*
"He fucking said he loves me!", Taehyung screamed, a glass of wine thrown against the wall immediately after, making a horrible sound when it crushed in a thousand pieces. "He's such a liar", Taehyung groaned, slamming his fist against the table, then whining in pain because he hit himself too hard.
"How can he say something like that and then go propose to her!!!"
"Tae, please, oh my god please calm down, let's talk", Jimin stuttered, taken aback by the older's anger. The second he told him about Jungkook's proposal, the older freaked out. He didn't cry yet, no, he got angry as hell.
"I stuck by his side through everything I do not fucking deserve this?? He just left like this?? Then propose to a girl he despises???", Taehyung kept questioning everything, highkey drunk by now because he kept pouring wine into his glass before he shattered it.
"Tae-", Jimin whispered, reaching for his shoulders to calm down. "Please sit down, let's talk about this until you feel better."
"Feel better?", Taehyung screamed, balling his fists again, now turning into Jimin's direction.
"Dude I'm not fucking Jungkook who moves on like it's nothing! As much as I hate myself for loving such a dumbfuck but I won't get over him like ever I frickin' loved him since first grade!", Taehyung hissed, stepping closer. "I won't feel better."
"I-I'm sorry", Jimin stuttered. "I just want to help!"
"Did you talk to him? Were you seriously at his place after he left me like that?", Taehyung asked, shoulders tensed and his mind cluttered by a billion thoughts.
"N-no! He texted me", Jimin mumbled.
"Did you fucking answer him?", Taehyung yelled.
"N-no!", Jimin whined. "I immediately came here", he pouted a little.
"Good boy", Taehyung said, finally calming down a little.
But the moment the anger fell off, the tears shot up and drowned his sight. "I can't believe I've lost my Jungoo", he sobbed, now throwing himself into Jimin's arms. The smaller one held him instantly, wrapping his arm around his friend to make him feel comfortable.
"He'll come back", Jimin whispered. "I'm sure he will."
"The day he says Yes to her in church will be the fucking day he'll be dead for me so he'll better hurry up", Taehyung mumbled, chest aching in pain just by thinking of Jungkook marrying someone else.
"He won't. He'd say No, brains always start to work last second."
"Jungkook has no fucking brain, Jimin", Taehyung sighed. "He acts through impulse", he sniffled and then finally stepped back and sat down on the sofa. "Whenever he gets uncomfortable, he does stupid things which he always regrets later."
"He's young, we all do stupid things at this age", Jimin hummed, still snuggling up to his friend, putting his head on the older's broad shoulders.
"Don't make up excuses for him", Taehyung said sharply, "I would've reached for the stars if it was for him, I would've given him everything and so much more, he doesn't deserve excuses for ruining someone who did nothing but good to him all his fucking life!! I've been there to protect him, I cheered him up all the time when Lyza pissed him off. I'm the best best friend ever and he just left me to go marry a fucking hoe!"
"Lyza is not a hoe, Tae", Jimin sighed.
"If anyone, then she's the one we can't blame for all of this. She's the one who's got a kid with a gay boy and just realised she's been cheated on for a long time."
Taehyung nodded, "Right. It's all Jungkook's fault, he fucked up this time."
Jimin hm'ed something, wrapping his arms a little more around the younger. "It is", Jimin agreed after a while.
"He told me he loves me too, he fucking said it out loud. I'm not delusional, he did say he loves me too! It's like the one thing we knew that means everything when said out loud, yet he left!"
"Taehyung, calm down now", Jimin said, this time a little louder, tone a bit sharper. "It's only making you feel worse if you keep repeating the scene in your head. Jungkook isn't worth it, let go finally for fuck's sake."
"No, he needs me. I can't just let go of him like that", Taehyung sobbed again.
"Well, he just did and you needed him too. Actually you needed him to fight for you two quite a lot already, he never even tried. Jungkook always walks away when things get hard, he did run to you when he felt unhappy with Lyza, now he runs back to her because he's so used to being unhappy that he can't take the happiness he feels with you."
"You're speaking my thoughts", Taehyung bit his lips.
"Twin energy, we're born the same year", Jimin winked and then sat up. "Now take a shower and drink water, you smell like an alcoholic", the older one chuckled and pushed Taehyung towards the bathroom.
"How do you do it?", Taehyung suddenly asked.
"Hm?", Jimin was a little confused.
"You're managing to have a relationship while being a great friend. I couldn't do any of it", Taehyung hummed.
"It's because you tried to be both for a guy that doesn't want you to be any", Jimin shrugged and then opened the bathroom door for him.
"Now go take a shower, maybe get off in there to relieve the stress or something, I don't know I'll just wait outside", Jimin mumbled and Taehyung nodded, heading towards the shower.
Well, Jimin's suggestion wasn't that great because Taehyung honestly considered doing this. All his mind did though, was imagining Jungkook beneath him, tied up and crying while Taehyung just fucked him rougher than he ever did before. Usually Jungkook loved it soft and full of kisses, but Taehyung's anger was somehow getting the best of him.
Taehyung indeed got off to those thoughts, feeling relieved afterwards for sure.
Jimin would slap him for thinking of Jungkook while doing so though.

"It's a mistake", Jennie's voice made Lyza's face drop to the ground. "He doesn't give a shit about you, you're putting yourself through even more pain with saying Yes", the girl shrugged.
Lyza bit her lips, it was the next morning and she sat at breakfast in a little coffee shop where she always met up with her girls before they headed for college.
"Maybe he'll change."
"Bullshit", Jennie laughed weakly, "This boy is a 100% gay, he has always been. Lyza wake up you're doing no one a favor with tolerating his behavior."
"I cheated too, who am I to blame him now?"
"You cheated because once you were away from this toxic relationship, there was actually a guy who made you feel like you're more than some teen mom. There's nothing to blame you for, Jungkook won't ever treat you like you deserve." Jennie's voice was sharp and Lyza felt a little offended by her.
"And I thought you as my friend would be happy for me", Lyza grumbled annoyed.
"Happy for you?? Happy for you going through endless pain because none of you, neither Jungkook nor you have any braincells at all?? Yeah, sorry."
"I just want to have a family, I want Taejeon to have both his parents, Jennie", Lyza sighed.
"Breaking up doesn't mean you're not a family anymore! Taejeon can still have both of you!", Jennie snapped. "You're just being dumb in this, just like your fucking fiancee. You really fit each other, honestly. Letting a boy cheat on you with another boy and insult you every time he gets the chance? Yet you agree to marrying him? Dumb", with that Jennie got up. "And I won't be around to cheer you up every single time he lets you down."
Lyza rolled her eyes, then just continued eating her cupcake all by herself.
What she didn't expect was what happened next, actually no one would've expected this.
The door of the coffee shop opened and a guy stumbled in, extremely drunk obviously since he couldn't walk straight at all, laughing weirdly while he stopped walking and looked around the room. Lyza's eyes widened when the door opened again and Jimin stormed in, rushing after the boy.
The older looked tired as hell, as if he hadn't slept a minute last night, exhausted by everything but relieved when he found his friend standing there, staring at a certain person he spotted.
Lyza.
"T-Tae let's go", Jimin squeaked, "Let's just go, we'll have breakfast somewhere else."
He tried to pull Taehyung away but the boy kept staring, pushed Jimin away and walked up closer.
"What the actual fuck", Taehyung said sharply when he stopped in front of Lyza's table. "What the fucking hell are you doing here?"
"Having breakfast, you?", Lyza asked as she furrowed her brows, a little disgusted by the boy's drunken appearance. She felt nothing but pity for him, Taehyung didn't look like the boy he was two weeks ago when she left the hotel. Actually he looked drained out, filled up with pain and horribly lost.
"Where's your fiancee?", Taehyung yelled, slamming his fist on the table, "Why aren't you taking him out?? Fucking hoe, you're not even thankful that you've got him!!"
Lyza flinched, looking a little startled.
"S-sorry", Jimin whined, trying to pull Taehyung away but the younger was taller, broader and stronger.
"Sorry? Did you just apologize to her?", Taehyung screamed right into Jimin's face. "That fucking slut doesn't deserve any apologies she's the luckiest dumb fucking bitch in this universe and she doesn't even see it!"
Lyza sighed, "Shouldn't you be yelling at Jungkook, instead of me?", she grumbled.
"No, because he blocked me! I tried calling him more than 50 times!!", Taehyung yelled. "I hope you're happy now that you took everything from me, stupid fucking piece of shit I hope you choke on his dick!"
Jimin tried not to chuckle about this, glancing at the shop owner so he'd help.
But the guy who worked there didn't seem like he cared.
"Don't you think you're overreacting? Jungkook is just a random boy. Find someone else, maybe someone without a child and a girlfriend, Taehyung. There are plenty better choices out there than Jeon fucking Jungkook. Be glad you're not stuck with his dumbass unlike I am!"
Jimin's breath hitched, yup she should've never said that.
Taehyung inhaled deeply, staring at her in disbelief.
"Overreacting?", he asked in a small voice, shocked by her point of view on all of this.
"Did you just call Jungkook a random boy? That there are better choices?", he repeated her words, now holding onto the table as if his life depended on it, he tried his very best not to smack this girl against the next wall. "You're going to marry my boy and you have the fucking nerves to call him random? He's not random, he's the fucking best thing that could ever happen to you and if you're not seeing that you're just plainass dumb and not worth having my man!!!"
Jimin wrapped his arms around Taehyung because he knew the younger would probably jump onto Lyza the very next minute. "Tae please, let's go", he whined but Taehyung wasn't going to stop.
"You overrate him, he's nothing but a joke", Lyza hummed, not giving in.
"You're a joke!", Taehyung hissed back.
"Why are you still defending him even after he left you? Taehyung, get it into your small brain. Jungkook doesn't want you, he wants to be with me. He wants to be straight, we both know he's not but you're definitely not the one he wants, man. Stop caring so much, you're hurting yourself. He chose me, give up!!"
"I'm still defending him because I won't stop loving him just because he chose you", Taehyung shrugged. "Love doesn't work like that."
"How are you so confident in this while Jungkook runs away just by hearing the word gay?", Lyza asked curiously.
"I'm not the one who almost died at the age of 8", Taehyung snapped. "I'm not the one who gets pressured by everyone. All I had to do was to stick by his side and trust me, it's impossible not to fall for Kookie."
"He's horrible, I can't relate", Lyza mumbled and then got up. "I'll go now."
"He's not horrible", Taehyung literally started sobbing, "Could you please at least try to appreciate that you've got everything I ever wanted? You're the one who can sleep next to him all the fucking time, you get his kisses, his smiles and his adorable brattiness. You've got it all yet you call him horrible", he sniffled and the anger fell off finally, instead tears started falling heavily.
"I'm sorry Tae", Lyza murmured. "I'm really sorry you fell for someone who's not capable of loving. I won't do the same mistake, sorry."
She passed the boy by and turned around one last time, this time eyeing Jimin, "Thanks for taking care of him. Don't let him drink so much", with that she rushed out of the shop. The girl's feet carried her into the next sidestreet where she just broke down. She sat down on the cold asphaltic ground, covering her face with her shaking hands as tears dropped down her long lashes.
Taehyung actually loved Jungkook the way Lyza wished to be loved by Jungkook. And she just realised that she probably destroyed something real for something fake she tried to enforce with breaking them apart.
Taehyung was hurt the most in all of this and somehow he deserved it the less.
