~a few weeks later~

It is finally Kat's birthday, and I'm super excited to see my little boy turn a year old.

We decided to have the party at Enji and Rei's place since they have more space.

Speaking of the birthday boy, he was currently being spoiled by Fuyumi and Miruko.

As the party went on, I felt happy that my little man was a year older...but at the same time sad because he wasn't my little baby anymore.

I was pulled out of my thoughts by the sound of squeals coming from my son when he opened one of his gifts.

I realized what it was and immediately looked at my husband, who had a guilty expression.

Why, you ask? It is because my son's squeals of excitement were from the tiny shiba inu puppy that just popped out of the box in front of him.

"Really, babe? A puppy?" I ask, arms crossed as best I could.

"I always wanted a puppy, and this will help entertain him when we are focused on the baby" he replies, pulling me close and kissing my forehead.

I sigh in surrender, then realize we had forgotten that the next day was going to be our gender reveal.

I had also invited my sidekicks to attend both Kat's birthday and the next party, which only Miruko and my manager knew about.
