~Maya POV~

I woke up just as the doctor said "he's in a coma, and likely will be for a few days".

I had been asleep in a hospital chair, and at those words I took off down the hall, eventually finding my brother's room despite adults calling after me.

A nurse was taking notes on Kat's condition when I walked in.

"How'd you get here honey? Where's your parents?" the nurse asked nicely.

I saw Kat in the hospital bed and I pointed at him, saying "brother" before the nurse realized who I was.

"So you're his little sister? How about I set you up next to him?" she asked, pointing to a spot on the bed next to my brother.

I nodded, and she helped me sit on the bed next to Kat. I instantly - yet gently - cuddled close to him protectively.

When my parents finally entered the room, they breathed a sigh of relief.

~Hawks POV~

Kat is still in his coma....but currently he's not the one I'm concerned about.

Maya, on the other hand, is gaining my full attention because she refuses to leave her brother's side no matter what.

It's kinda cute, but also it's making it hard for the nurses and doctors to do their job because she has become very protective of Kat.
