B&W 16.

Two months later.....

The sun played hide and seek with the clouds. Gentle cool air flew all over the working bodies, moving out and about their day.

Around him it was a time of dread, he couldn't feel alive even if he wanted to. Alone and empty handed he walked inside the place that was now a home for him because it was her who sleeping here.

She left him in despair and regret, she closed her eyes on him and it had been two months since she had done that. How was he surviving? He didn't know.

He was surviving through the days he counted without her. A slow death without her by his side when he wakes up. With her not being there when he would enter his home. Home wasn't home without her. This new place he had chosen to live in leaving the old one needed her warmth but it was as if she was mad at him for not giving her the time she needed before. For not appreciating her smiles before when they were restricted for him only.

For not showing her how much he had loved her. He told her this everyday now. He visited her everyday, sat by her everyday and told her how much he misses her.

"I'm back" he said sitting in his usual spot.

"Did you miss me? Because I missed you alot" he said smiling, but it faltered when they fell on her closed eyes and pale face.

"Wafa" his voice cracked but he blinked his tears away. The scene from two months back played infront of his eyes. The moment her hand slipped from his and her body slipped off the railing was when his breathing stopped. She was rushed into the hospital bloodied, barely holding onto life. She was taken into emergency and it took hours for then to treat her. The hardest part was when they made him sign papers claiming that tht failure of her concussion removal will not be the hospitals responsibility.

Almost after collapsing twice she had fallen into a coma, a deep sleep worse than death, keeping him in and out of hope for her to ever wake up. But he didn't want to believe that maybe, maybe she won't ever wake up.

Haleel was buried and her mother had lost sanity. She was taken away to the mental asylum after she tried harming herself and others twice. Faris was having a hard time dealing with all this. He surely did love his wife dearly. He left the country in hopes of getting away from her memories but she was in his heart and soul how could he let go of her.

"You know. There are so many stray cats who I feed everyday. I always tell them about you. I can't wait till you meet them all" he grinned with tears brimming his eyes.

"Wafa" he whispered running his fingers through her shirt hair. They had cut them down after the surgery they performed to remove the concussion.

"You... You know I got promoted last week. I'm Soo excited to treat you once you wake up" he said excitedly. He felt himself turning into a male version of her and chuckle escaped his lips.

"Please come back to me" he whispered cupping her face and caressing her cold skin with his thumb.

"Our new home wants you there. Please come back to me. I'll do anything for you. I..." He wiped his tears away and smiled brightly. "I have a room especially designed to be your studio. Don't you wanna see you dream studio?" He chuckled but it died down when she didn't respond yet again.

"You can't keep doing this to me. Now come on wake up. It's been two months and I've been living alone." he complained but no response came.

"Mr. Buraak" he looked up from her face to the door where Jahan stood with a bouquet in his hand.

"Yes?" Buraak stood up defensively making Jahan pass a small smile to him. His eyes teared up at tht sight of Wafa but he knew it wasn't his time to mourn - he couldn't, not infront of her husband.

"I was out of city for a meeting when I heard of Wafa's current state. I'm really sorry for what had happened. I pay condolences" he said gulping his emotions down.

Buraak nodded taking the bouquet from him and putting on the side table.

"It all happened unexpectedly. No one was ready for this" Buraak said making the man nod.

"I pray she gets better soon" Jahan said gazing at her longingly.

"You liked her. Didn't you?" Buraak asked after a long silence.

"Yeah" Jahan chuckled brokenly.

"Why didn't you make a move then?" He asked clenching his fist.

"She want written to be mine" Jahan shook his head with a sad smile on his lips. "Sometimes no matter how much you try or love someone they're just not yours. She was yours and so you have her" he said giving Buraak a sad smile.

"I feel bad for coming in your love story" Buraak chuckled making Jahan mirror his gesture.

"I should be the one saying that. Besides Wafa was either too naive or too smart to not acknowledge my very obvious feeling for her" Jahan laughed making Buraak crack a smile at that.

"She was a gem and I hope you're the best keeper for her" Jahan said tearing his gaze away from her and maybe for good this time.

"It was all fates plan. Maybe life has a better end for you, only now it seems hard" Jahan said shaking hands with Buraak.

"I hope so." Buraak sighed but then smiled at him "it was nice meeting you" he said making Jahan nod in return with a smile of his own.

Jahan left making him slump back into his chair. He gazed at his wife's face and kept taking to her till his eyes dropped and he felt himself drowning in deep slumber.

Buraak opened his eyes in his living room, he stood in tht middle of their modern furnished house. His eyes moved around to find her but he didn't.

"Buraak" someone giggled making a smile to spread on his face. He turned his head to the side to find her but he couldn't. His eyebrows furrowed as he tried finding her. He ran up the stairs in hopes of seeing her. He followed the sound of her anklets jingling to their bedroom. His heart racing at tht sight of a decorated room. Fairy lights decorated the walls while a golden canopy with sewn sequins glimmered over the bed.

"Wafa" he called making the sound of her anklets jingle behind him. He turned around but didn't see her there.

"Got you" he said catching her behind him. She laughed melodically making him grin widely. His eyes teared up at the vision of her laughing so carelessly with him.

Dressed in her red wedding dress she looked ethereal, only then he had realized just how heavenly she looked in it. The red chiffon and red beading glimmered against her skin in tht dim lights of candles and fairy lights. The scent of roses making him look around the room. It was decorated just as it was on their wedding night.

"We won" she grinned making him nod while rounding an arm around her waist. She looked down with her cheeks burning making him smile happily.

"Come. It's our first year anniversary" she said taking his hand and pulling his to the balcony lit up beautiful with small lanterns.

He couldn't feel any happier than this. A years passed by that quickly. He didn't even realize just how time was running for them. They cut the cake and ate their dinner in pure bliss.

"Buraak?" She said softly meeting his eyes.

"Hm?"

"You look very mystical under the moon light" she whispered gazing at him intently.

"Really?" He chuckled making her nod slowly as if in a trance.

"You look almost unreal to me. You look like something I don't deserve. I'm afraid maybe I actually don't deserve you" her voice turned heavier and a glisten in her eyes caught his gaze.

"It should be the other way around Wafa. I should be the one saying this. You're too pure for me." He said getting up from his place and kneeling down infront of her.

"That's the one thing I'm not" she whispered brokenly.

"Who said that?" He asked lifting her chin up to make her look in his eyes.

"I know"

"No you don't." He said "you don't know how much I love you. You don't know how much I crave you. You don't know anything and I'm going to show that to you" he whispered making her look deep into his eyes.

"Really?" She asked.

"Only if you allow" he whispered inching closer to her.

"Would you?" He asked in a hushed voice. She gazed into his eyes with her wide brown ones and slowly nodded making him blow away the small distance between their lips.

He jolted awake from the constant beeping. His looked around before his eyes settled on her heart monitor. It was beeping continuously and Wafa was breathing heavily. He pushed the emergency button calling a doctor while his anxiety fed off of him.

He was pushed aside as the doctors handled the situation, after injecting something in her IV and arm the doctor pulled away.

"She's improving. If she keeps fighting this way she'll be up in on time. Congratulations" the doctor smiled and left making him stare at her wide eyed.

"Wafa?" He called happily. "You're doing great. I love you" he said kissing her forehead before walking out of the room to the nearby mosque.

"Ya Allah thank you. Thank you for giving me another chance. Thank you. Please make me worth her love. Please" he cried wiping his hands on his face.

He went to the hospital directly from his work this time. He didn't bother going home just the way he has been doing since past two weeks.

He walked inside and found her bed empty. Panic rose in his chest making him check the bathroom but that was also empty. He was about to run into tht doctor's office when the door opened and a nurse brought her in on a wheel chair.

His heartbeat slowed alittle at her sight but it fluttered again at the sight of her brown eyes.

"Wafa?" He croaked sitting down before her after the nurse had settled her on the bed. She looked up to him and blinked slowly not saying anything.

"Is she okay?" He asked the nurse who nodded absentmindedly.

"Yes. She would be fine in a few days, she'll need some physiotherapy to be able to walk again properly." The nurse said making him nod and look back at her who stared at him blankly.

"Why isn't she reacting to anything?" He asked seeing her take a shot without even wincing.

"Oh that's because she's numb at tht moment because of heavy dosage medicines it's okay she'll be normal in a few days" she explained further making him nod.

She's awake.
